Nugents is the best priced, highest class tavern in Union County. There is no other establishment I would choose above it. They have great prices, a large selection of beer and whiskey, and the staff makes you feel at home. While youre there, dont forget to get a delicious burger or their outstanding finger food as well. If youre stuck at the Newark Airport or a nearby hotel, the drive to Nugents Tavern is short and worth it. Clients of all ages frequent here and are all friendly. At this place, you want to be a regular.

This is what NJ bars used to be like. The food was excellent and was served quickly. The bartender, Marcy was great and the crowd there made me feel as if I had been going there for years. They have a great beer collection but the Whiskey collection was top notch, it is a wall of whiskey, very impressive. This place is a must visit, I took the train here from Metuchen and it was very easy. I will be back.

Update: Nugents continues to get better and better.Chef Jose is amazing and the food has gone from good bar food to excellent restaurant food. I love meeting people from all over the world here. If you are staying at the airport, Nugents is a 5 minute Uber away. You will not regret it, the food and drinks are amazing and the prices are half of the hotel prices.friendly people ..

You dont see many Irish pubs in Elizabeth. Nugents is a happenin spot with a very friendly owner and an even friendlier bar staff. They recently (maybe more like a year or two ago) redid their menu, and--I kid you not--their meatloaf is freakin amazing! Anyways, drinks are cheap, foods good, and fun times had. This is definitely a bar I can call home.

I may be a bit biased just because this is my local watering hole but that aside, atmosphere is great pretty much any day of the week. Weekends are obviously more crowded so wait time for food and/or drinks might be longer. All in all, highly recommend. If you go ask for Marcy. Shell take care of you. Dont tell her I said that though...

I went there recently for a friends birthday and I waited at the bar for over 10mins as the bartender ignored me after trying to get his attention. The customer service here sucks and I wouldnt recommend coming here if one will get ignored while he takes others orders. Older Caucasian gentleman was very unprofessional

Wasnt sure what to expect given the looks of the area, but the food was very good! I really hoped the reuben, which they make the corned beef in house! It was delicious, but far too much to enjoy on my own. A lot of regulars there and a very friendly bar team. The wings smelled amazing too - I wish I would have tried time.

This is a really cool bar to visit either by yourself or with friends. They have a pool table in the back and variety of music. Oh wait, I forgot the best part besides the drinks....The Food! OMG many choices. How many bar that u go to sell seafood....come on u gotta be kidding the place is the snaze!

Great spot! The people, and staff -especially Marcy are really nice. Fun environment, good music, excellent food, and overall a must visit spot! We were in NJ for five days and had to stop for a second visit before leaving back to TX.

Slowest service I think Ive ever experienced. Waited almost 2 hours for a cheeseburger with very few people in the bar. Only reason Im giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because once the burger finally did come out it wasnt half bad

Nice place, they have a 10oz burger to die for. Suprise to see a pool table in the back with a full bar. The bar is the only Irish pub in Elizabeth. The tap beer had me at hello! Gbratton, my new go to bar!
