A bouncer needs to be fired..The place it self is really nice, I go there specially for Guinness. I & my friends had been going there almost every thursday after work for last many months. There is fat, ugly, rude, bouncer, he kicked my friend out two times on two different occasions, because she had her European DL as her ID. She is a doctor, she showed her hospital ID where she visits while in the US, that bastard kept asking for her Passport. She explained that she cant carry her passport every day everywhere especially not a bar or pub.Even the state of NJ and rental car companies allow you to drive with a European DL and accept it as a valid ID. I explained that we were here many times before and we are not a bunch of teenagers or trouble makers, we all are professional doctors from a famous NJ hospital/University. Unfortunately both times we had to drive to city to Perfect pint on 46th & 3rd for nice Guinness.

Lunch was fine. Service was fine. I have no complaints there. However, being in restaurants/steakhouses for 10+ years has taught me more than a few things regarding price points. There is ZERO justification for Widow Jane to be priced at over $30. I ordered it after seeing it listed among their bourbons. I would have been happy with it, expecting it to be within the usual $14-20 range (depending on the restaurant/bar). Even upwards of $25 would have been RELATIVELY acceptable. This has nothing to do with "sticker shock" -- Im perfectly happy to pay for what I get, and enjoy good whiskey. But, gauging your guests is never something that I can be OK with. After years of frequenting this place, and being perfectly happy with it, I will not return to Shannon Rose on that principle alone. Its the little things.

My adult son, adult daughter and myself arrived at the restaurant, and we awaited for one of the 2 people at the front door to seat us at a table, neither budged. We asked if we could sit anywhere, their answer sure. We proceed to find a table and sit for approximately 10-15 minutes when we noticed that no one came to assist us. We had to get up and ask for menus, flag someone down to ask for utensils, the food was mediocre and the service was horrible. By the way, for the next 45 minutes we saw other guest being walked to their tables, handed menus and given silverware. Ive taught my children that it is a good thing to try new things, well this one was tried and 3 times agreed that we will NEVER go there again. I dont like to point to racism, however, everything from this experience pointed to that.

Good food, good beer, outdoor seating. Were not usually chain restaurant people, but this one is pretty good. The food is freshly prepared and theres quite a variety. Service is a bit uneven, but generally very friendly (better than it was a couple years ago). I wouldnt mind a better cocktail menu (theyre decent but nothing amazing). The outdoor seating is what brings us back half the time. Wonderful spot for lunch on a sunny day. They renovated half of the patio to be semi-enclosed - kind of a porch/sunroom feel - which I assume will be open year round. In the outdoor half, they added a fire pit. Theyve also improved the level of service outside - no more wondering where your server is. Gluten-free and vegetarian items marked on the menu (some great options) and good with allergies.

Somebody wrote a review three years ago that this place was racist and particularly called out blond manager. I have to agree. Stopped in to pick up a burger. Spoke with waitress who took my order to the kitchen. Im waiting for my food, checking out my cellphone. This piece of work walks out and starts harassing me about why Im there, wants to know if Im just hanging out as if Im some vagrant looking for a private corner to urinate. Generally whenever you go there as youre paying your tab the waitstaff hovers over you as if they are convinced that youre going to make a mad dash for the parking lot. It just colors your entire experience and the one reason I dont intend to ever go back. Just the stench of some underlying nonsense you dont even want to name.

All around quality restaurant. Feels like a chain restaurant but only has a few locations. Big menu with plenty to choose from. Irish-style classics as well as typical American fare. Servings were decent and filling. This location has a spacious interior with appropro decor. As a bonus they have a deck that opens up into the interior for indoor/outdoor dining. Most surprising from my point of view was the large selection of not just vegetarian but vegan options. There was a vegan burger, sloppy joe, and shepards pie. These are uncommon and welcome vegan selections. Their veggie burger, while omnipresent these days, was unique in its taste and presentation. An excellent change of pace.

Very disappointing. My daughter and I ordered Scotch eggs as an appetizer and both ordered Rueben sandwiches. We received our sandwiches and when I had to flag down our waitress for silverware I mentioned the eggs. She apologized and said "but you have your meal, you still want the eggs?" As we really wanted to try them we told her yes. 15 minutes later we got them and they were not prepared as written...no sausage. The onion rings are definitely pre-made frozen and the Ruebens had very little sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing, very fatty meat and the bread was soggy. If you want a great Rueben I highly recommend Houlihans.

Came here late on a Friday night. The atmosphere is of the typical Irish pub and since we had a big group, they sat us at a large table next to the DJ. Needless to say, there was absolutely no possible way to have a normal conversation. The DJ seemed a bit out of place in a bar like this; he was playing really loud techno music. Although the seating was unfortunate, the service was pretty good so no complaints about that. I think for future reference, they should be aware not to seat people in that particular location when there is a DJ.

The Shannon Rose is awesome. Great food, great atmosphere and great drinks. The place is really cool inside, very nicely decorated. I loved my chicken sandwich and my date enjoyed her fat wrap... the Shannon Roses take on the Rutgerts Grease trucks food. so good. I love this place and, even though I am not from the area, I will definitely make my way back to the Shannon Rose again. Oh, and yes, during the day its a nice restaurant.. and at night its a place for fist pumping Guidos and Guidettes. love it!

I went to this place for a business meeting and was pleasantly surprised by the service. Having been to a great many Irish, English and Scottish pubs in my time, mostly in Chicago/Ireland/England, this was the first place that FELT Irish. Meaning, the service was unlike the usual rude NJ service. Most of all the food was better than I expected after reading some reviews on here. Maybe I got lucky? Or maybe some folks just had a bad experience, but one mans opinion? This is a great place for a business meeting.

I have been coming here constantly with friends just for some bar snacks and drinks. They dont have a variety of special drinks on their menu but the ones available are good and the bar is there for anything requested. I love how they have different bands play on certain nights, definitly brings a good vibe. Cant really complain about this location because I have never experienced a problem coming here so if youre looking for a nice, chill place to go to with some friends Id definitly recommend this place.
