What horrible service. Dirty restaurant. And at the end I paid the whole bill because they were having trouble splitting it. It will be easier to split the bill for us than it would be for them.... Walked in and got seated fairly quickly. Then it took about 20 minutes for them to come and take any orders. They finally came and took food and drink orders at the same time. After they took the orders it took about 15 minutes to bring our drinks and they brought all 11 drinks on a tray and left them on our table to pass out and figure what each one was. The food finally comes but for half the table. The rest was being made. Then all the pancakes were to be right out and it got to the point where we had to ask for them. We never got any refills of any sort even with empty cups sitting in front of us we were never offered a refill. There wasnt any silverware for half our party so when we asked the brought a pile of it and basically dropped it in the middle of the table. When we asked for the pancakes they never brought the guy brought them and literally threw them on the table and they slid across the table on the plates. The whole time we were eating the employees were in the kitchen fighting and cussing because they had to clean the whole place tonight. And one of them was "fin" leaving because he had been there all day. The carpets were so nasty and sticky that walking across them your feet stuck to them and you could hear your feet peeling off the floor as you took another step. It wouldnt have done any good talking to the manager since she was right in the middle of everything and let it go on. She was standing around instead of helping her servers take orders and bring things to the tables or asking if we needed anything. Looking around the restaraunt all the customers looked disgusted with everything as well. I would have expected something more from them since it is located directly across from Rutgers University Hospital. After being at IHOP for 1.5 hrs the woman comes by and asked if we were done and I said yes. We waited for the check to come and never did so we had to get up from the table and start heading to the door for her to finally bring the check. She was struggling with splitting it so I paid for it all so we could get out of there and we could figure it out later. I still left a tip even though I shouldnt have even paid for the meal.

I arrived here at lunch hour and once I walked inside there was no host to greet my mother and I. About three servers standing around looking lost. A young man comes up to us and appears mute because he is signing to us for us to follow him. So he seats us. & just stands in front of our table not saying anything. So I asked can I have a chocolate milk & my mother asked for Iced coffee he mumbled so low we could barely hear him & he mentioned he didnt know if there was any coffee but if there wasnt he would make some. So about 5 minutes later he returns with our drinks & stands and looks at us quietly again. Im ready to place my order and he didnt offer us any specials or let us know about anything on the menu. So I asked him if he was our server and he stormed away from the table and another lady appears and says hello now Im your server what did yall want? We had no silverware , our glasses were not topped off at all & we were not checked on. I think the service here was terrible. Very unprofessional. I will NEVER visit or reccomend this place to anyone thank god I do not visit here often ! Highly disappointed but the food was good and cooked to our liking. The people skills are terrible Though.

I guess I shouldnt expect much high quality service. My waiter looked at me funny when I mentioned I was eating alone. Right away made me feel self conscious. The food came out fairly quick. The food was just right! The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The staff is overall attentive and hard working, but some of the staff, including my waiter, is loud and disruptive. I guess it reflects on the neighborhood. A reminder that youre in newark. My waiter also seemed in a rush since he brought me the check while I was still eating and even asked me to pay twice before I even finished. Just the little things that make one say "rude." Overall a good experience. Not as "ratchet" as I imagined. Except for the restroom. An eye sore, to say the least. Could use some improvement. I gave it three stars because the fault of one employee may, but should not reflect on the overall performance of the restaurant, and the restroom scared the fourth star away. Good experience. I came here to eat not to get treated like royalty or to judge. I got what I wanted. Thank you. ( I came in around noon)

Terrible overall experience, starting before we even were seated. The employee at the door looked new and was being trained by another employee, which is fine. The only problem is that niether greeted us and even ignored us when spoken to because they were too busy with the "training". We did get our table right away, but our coffee was disgusting, as if it had been left out all morning. I asked to get it replaced. As we were waiting for our food, our waiter took ketchup and syrup off our table to share with another table without even asking us or even making eye contact at least. When we finally got our food, my girlfriends plate was disgusting. It looked like it wasnt even washed and full of grease even on the bottom. She almost didnt eat it but it would have been worse to wait for the food again. Overall the waiter and the other employees were not friendly and we left as quickly as we could. Would not recommend this store and for now on we will drive farther from home to another IHOP.

This place has no idea of professional customer service where the goal is to please your customers after you (the management) create mistakes. To make a long story short a waiter misinformed me about the specific details about kids eat free after 4 after I asked several times for clarification. She also misinformed me about the price of the drinks. When my bill came $12 over I kindly asked why and was told I was charged for one child and there drink. I told him what the waiter told me and was still expected to pay for their mistake. I say their becauae she was new said a kind waiter who intervened on my behalf. I have never experienced such a thing... Paying for a restaurants mistake, especially a chain restaurant. Please do not spend you dollars here as customer comfort is not there first concern. Totally not worth it!

The service was horrible I had mentioned I might get some soup so the lady just walked away went and got any random soup dropped on the table and then walked away I had just came out of surgery could only eat soft foods so we never even got into a conversation for me to explain I needed a soup with nothing really in it but noodles and stuff so I ask her she says this is all we have but I said I only mentioned what I was looking for not that I was getting yet then I had two other people with me she walks away comes back 20 minutes later and says oh I didnt know you wanted to order to and we said yeah why would we come here the 3 of us and only one person eating so she orders and then the lady just comes and slams check on table and that was it well she got no tip and she want a very good waitress at all
