I came on vacation on July 13 around 1am and had a few drinks with friends. At first the bartender seemed nice since I came in with someone he knew but then my boyfriend ordered a Jameson and ginger ale while he was outside smoking a cigarette (while I wasin the bathroom). I knew my boyfriend had ordered a drink and as I saw the bartender come back from outside and make a well whiskey and ginger ale drink and leave it on on the bar where my boyfriend was sitting. I was confused because I know my bf only orders Jameson so I told him about it. Justin (my boyfriend) decided to ask the bartender before making any judikgment about the drink and when he did replied and said it was Jameson. This is not only immoral but also illegal but wrong to lie to a guest about what they are drinking. I really hope you guys take care of this as it is wrong and not good bussines.

I was invited to come to a technical presentation and networking event at the Garden State Ale House and I was thoroughly impressed with both the food and the drink selection. First off, the staff was very inviting and friendly. The downstairs bar area is a little tight, but served the purpose well. There is a tremendous beer selection and a very decent whiskey selection, not to mention their expansive cocktail menu. I went with the fried gouda appetizer which is a fancier, more delicious version of mozzarella sticks. For the main course, I went with a classic bacon cheeseburger which came out cooked to order and tasted great. The fries were moderately crispy and seasoned well too. Overall, I was very happy with the event and the venue and I would definitely come back if I were in the area.

There has been a major overhaul at the GS Alehouse, starting with the vastly improved craft beer selection which features many gems all year round. Secondly there is a new chef who has brought in a new menu that is pumping out delicious food to go along with that great beer you just ordered. If beer isnt for you or your date Lou behind the bar will mix up something tasty for you. They also offer multi-course beer pairing dinners with different craft breweries monthly, which I thought was a cool unique experience you usually dont find in NewBruns. All in all Im impressed by the improvements made here shows the owners care and want to satisfy their patrons.

This place is incredibly overpriced, poorly staffed and utterly pointless. The menu is limited and has nothing special to offer. The beer selection would be a redeeming factor--but they never have what they advertise. In four visits I was told at least a dozen times that the beer I ordered had "just kicked" and I had to order another. Also, the wait staff took almost 45 minutes to ask us for our initial drink order, then at least another hour before taking our food order (on a night that wasnt busy at all). Save your time and money, this place will leave you frustrated and feeling ripped off.

New Brunswick has its good and bad joints. Ended up at the George Street Ale House recently, where else but on George Street. Apparently it also goes by garden State Ale House. Music down stairs. Great atmosphere. Great selection of beers and other drinks. Food was good we had chicken wings and other late night bar food. However, what impressed me the most of this place was the lady behind the bar. I think her name was Kaja... best bartender ever! Fast, efficient, courtesy, funny, kind and so nice.....

The best place for beer and food in New Brunswick. If you are a broke college kid stay down at Easton ave, this is one of the few refuges for grown ups in New Brunswick to get great food and drinks. You can actually sit at the bar comfortably without a bunch of d-bag college kids on top of you trying to get jager bombs and bud lights. The beer selection is constantly changing with great craft beers. The new management has completely turned this place around.

I came here a few more times and they can provide fresh whites from eggs instead of egg whites from a container with the health club meal. (I know, Im pretty picky.) The service is pretty quick and they are very friendly. This is the only breakfast place I will go to in this area and it looks like a lot of locals come here on a regular basis. I would recommend coming here for breakfast if youre in the area of have yet to try it!

Not quite sure what all the complaints are about. Ive been here three times and the food is always excellent, the beer selection totally killer, and the service has been no different than any other average New Brunswick bar restaurant. Sure its nothing amazing, but they done a great job revamping the place and keeping it modern. A+ for the killer beer and food choices! Keep that microbrew coming!

Ive been to GSA for its trivia night, for happy hour, and late at night with the college crowd, but definitely my favorite time to visit is during the brunch special. Bottomless mimosas or bloody marys plus a breakfast/lunch menu item for a flat, low cost. The value is unbeatable if youre planning on having more than 1 drink. The servers are friendly and Ive never had a bad meal here.

If you are looking for a place with great craft beer in New Brunswick this is it! Its the best place to grab a few GOOD beers that you cant get anywhere else on tap in New Brunswick. The food is good (nothing amazing) but its a bar where the focus is bar food and excellent beer. If you are looking for a place to get some great beers in fun relaxing environment this is the place.

I was at the Ale House last night for dinner; We ordered the nachos and they were delicious! For entree, I ordered the Veggie Pizza which was good but I could taste it in the veggies used that it wasnt too fresh. Regardless, my man and I were very happy with the Ale House and will definitely will be returning. Next time, I want to try the Asian nachos and the beer!

Great beer selection! We liked the vibe of this bar so much better than other beer bars in the area. Its chill and not filled with bros! We didnt try any of the food but it looked great from what others around us had. The service became hit and miss once it got crowded; not enough to deter us from coming back!

The place has good food and a great beer selection but the service just doesnt seem polished and the place just seems to be resting on laurels. Its definitely a good place to check out for quality food and good beer just needs a little freshen up of service and decor.

I go there a few times a week for lunch with my buddies from work. Matts a great bartender and the place definitely livens up when hes around. The foods good and you cant beat the price. I highly recommend this place... Especially for the bar staff! (Zora included)
