(July 8th, 2017) I was actually on my way to stuff your face, but decided to give this place a try. The bartender (the girl) was really nice, very attentive and helpful she recommended me the guayaba sangria which was AWESOME . Unfortunately i arrived 30 mins before she ended her shift, then the 5 stars that she earned the Establishment went out the window. the reliever ( the guy) was awful, the way his coworker (the girl) described the chorizos pretty much sold me!!! she was like " ... pretty cool they set them on fire" That was pretty much the REASON why i ordered the chorizos, then the guy comes over set the chorizos on fire in front of some else =.( I understand we are all humans and make mistakes, i was ok with watching spectacle from far away, but when he finally realized the order was for me he came over with the corizo and this is what he said to me after i explained to him that the fire was pretty much the main reason why i ordered the chorizos .."oh im sorry, come back". are you serious ? come back? wow. when the awesome bar tender (the girl) was heading out i explained what happened and she was very apologetic, the guy noticed i was upset and came over while i was talking to her. He tried to redeem himself by saying that it was to dangerous to do it in front of me -__- ( i guess the person he did it in front of was made of steel) after the incident he took 20 mins to check on us! because he was talking to some girl at the other end of the counter. I wanted to order some calamaris, so i had to wait like 20 mins to do so. I didnt really care about the fire/ the chorizos, what irk me was his response and his poor service ( coming from some one who worked in hotels fore over 5 years, i know about costumer service) next time ill make sure i make it to STUFF YOUR FACE

The owner of this establishment contacted me directly about an incident which occurred (see below comment) very kindly apologetic and offered to compensate us for the inconvenience. This is what customer service is about. Im thrilled with the compassion and just for the concern given I would say Im willing to return here. Looking forward to trying the food. If you want guests to return to your establishment, dont hire rude bartenders who show zero sympathy when youre drink becomes infested with an insect due to your lack of cleanliness. Never coming back.

Okay so the atmosphere is lovely. The place is very pretty and up and coming BUT their food is terrible. They claim to have Spanish food, however being from spanish influenced country and having tired the food myself, this is far from it. The food is bland, the ceviche has what seems to taste like ketchup, the empanadas are grease and lack flavor and character. The bartenders overlooked us too, the guy ignored us for several minutes without even greeting us. Again great spot and giving constructive criticism so they improve and do good in the long term.

The place was slow and we sat and watched the server go around and clean the tables and stand there for fifteen minutes before she came to greet the table. She checked on us once. We would try to flag her down but she would only leave the back to go say hi to a man who would proceed to grope her (assuming her significant other). We asked to split the check and she brought out only one of them and took another fifteen minutes to pick up the check book.

Either for date night, girls night or watching el Clasico with friend and rivals, I always have a good time here! Sangria de Barca is my favorite or a nice glass of Sangre de Toro. Chorizo al fuego with a side order of rice and black beans is my go to everytime! I have tried almost all the tapas and none disappoint. For dinner I recommend the churrasco. There is live music or DJ on the weekends. Thanks Gus! Keep it up!

Another great New Brunswick Spot. Colorful, Open Floor Plan with lounge seating against the wall, Usually the large front patio doors are open, which leaves for a light breeze to flow through the restaurant. Their mini sandwich menu has some interesting selections, but if your not looking for a full meal, those make a perfect snack. Very clean, Big screen T.V.s, and large bar. Great pick for the area.

Our waitress was great, and the food was good, once they got it right. First they gave us the wrong food, then by the time we got ours it was cold. The owner was drinking on the job and then yelled at the waitress for doing a bad job, even though she was doing the best she could, considering her boss was drinking with his buddies instead of on the floor.

Essentially the only nice sit down bar within walking distance of College Ave campus at Rutgers. They actually know how to make drinks (as opposed to the limited selection of beer, shots or mixed drinks at the college bars). Great atmosphere, only reason for four stars is that I havent tried their food yet. Will certainly be back.

Fabulously crafted food and drink! Awesome environment for people to come by, eat good food, and drink with happy and enthusiastic people. As a New Brunswick local and NYC frequent, I can highly recommend this place as a NJ destination and quality experience!

The best outdoor bar in New Brunswick! The service is outstanding (Nick is so personable and appreciates all of his customers). The bar is behind Evelyns so its confusing at first but they share the beautiful outdoor space. Its a must go on a beautiful night

I LOVE coming to Barca! This is always my first stop for a night out in NB. It offers a great outdoors section at Evelyns next door that gets LIT as the night goes on, which has really great food too! Come out and enjoy you will not be disappointed ;)

They have hi-5 ipa. Got recommendations from bartenders at Evelyns for this place, who also work here. Can order food here and have it brought to the outdoor bar at Evelyns, which is fantastic for warm summer nights when you want to be outside.

The ambience is nice here, and it has comfortable couches for those who want to sit down and drink. The music is slightly too loud for the vibe that they seem to be going for. I cant speak for the food, as I did not try any of it.

Good food, good portions, good prices. We enjoyed camarones (shrimp) al ajillo and pulpo (octopus) a la plancha as tapas, and chicken paella. This place is a nice, distinctive addition to Rutgers restaurant row on Easton Ave.

Barca city is one of the best places in New Brunswick, that i have been to. Food is awesome, service is the best , waitresses are always smiling, bartenders makes the best cocktails , and their prices are fair .
