This review is based upon one visit during an October Sunday, which I realize is a hectic time for any farm offering pumpkins and family activities. The main problem with the farm is its location. It is too close to a big town, and suffers from an overwhelming crowd. They need two police officers on the road just to handle the traffic. Huge parkings lots get filled with families lining up for the farm. And I do mean lining up. Want to do a hay ride? Youll line up for 30 minutes just to buy tickets before lining up for 30 minutes to get on a hay ride. You pay for the hay ride, you pay for the "corn pit," you pay for everything! The snack stand was charging $1 for an apple.... $1 for an apple?!?! This is a farm, you grow them 20 feet from where you sell them! Any other farm Ive been to doesnt care about an apple youve eaten while on their property in order to spend money. So does Wightmans farm deserve 1 out of 4 stars? Well, I cant say they are "Excellent," "Very Good," or "Good." I would say they are "Fair," but keep away during October.

Purchased Apple Crumb Pie when got home and opened box was not an Apple Crumb even though the box was marked Apple Crumb. Took pie back spoke to manager she said looked like the pie did not cook correctly but it appeared to her to be an Apple Crumb. She said nothing she could do about it could not give money back and could not offer another pie. I was very upset and in all my years was never exposed to such poor customer service, told her to keep the dam pie and she would never have to worry about dealing with us again. We will continue to use Delicious Orchards in Freehold, they could give some very good lessons on customer service. Suggest not purchasing anything at whitemans unless you like being mistreated.

Wightmans Farms is great. They have a fantastic kids play area, a large farm for apple picking, and a huge variety of pumpkins, both in the field and on the racks. Additionally, they have a great farmers market with delicious pies and apple cider. However, I am reminded of the Yogi Berra quote "The place is so packed no one goes there anymore". That quote is appropriate here. Wightmans is so good that if you show up on a Sunday at 2PM right before Halloween, you are going to be overwhelmed with people. There are so many people that they even have the local police route the traffic on the weekend. Wightmans is fantastic, but pick your visit time carefully.

I came here on a class field trip with my son, so I can only review what we did. The staff was organized and friendly, guiding our buses into the spots, then blocking them off for the kids to get in and out safely. The hay ride was longer than I expected, but it goes up a decent hill, so a few kids and I were sliding on the hay. The hay wagon was loaded with hay, so the floor was comfortable, and there werent any bumps or sore bottoms. There was a large field of pumpkins for the kids to pick from, and then the play areas were nice. There are plenty of picnic tables to sit at near the kids play area. Very nice trip.

Wightmans is our favorite place to go apple picking. We usually end up going a couple of times a year: once solely for apples, and once for the whole fall experience (apples, pumpkins, roasted corn, corn maze, hay ride, etc). Its becoming more and more popular, and its getting harder to get the apples you want. You really need to make sure you call their hotline on a weekly basis to find out which apples are available for picking. Their little store has wonderful produce, and great cider donuts (we actually stop there throughout the year for the donuts).

My girlfriend and I went cherry picking here 5/25/17. We were very disappointed. There were barely any sweet cherries and the ones that were still on the tree were not accessible for most people. The orchard seems very big and nice and I can imagine apple picking here being fun but picking cherries turned us off somewhat. Also paying a $15 PYO fee was not ideal and there plants are very expensive. There apple cider donuts are great though. Would not recommend for cherry picking at the least.

A real family farm that has capitalized on the disappearance of most farms in the area. The farm stand is decent. Great selection of apples grown on the property, plus peaches, nectarines, berries, vegetables. And the only donuts in the world I actually like. Hay ride, corn maze, apple and pumpkin picking. The place is insane from mid-September through November. Then, some of the most expensive Christmas trees you have ever seen take over from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

We had such a lovely time visiting the farm for apple picking. We have 2 toddlers and they had a ball in the sandbox filled with corn, hay ride and hay maze. We loved all the snacks like corn on the cob and pickles on a stick. There was a lot of people there but the lines all went very fast. They really know how to handle the large numbers. It was a great family outing and I would absolutely go back.

Fun times. Hayride is pretty long, apples were good. The orchard is on a hill, something to keep in mind for walking. No carts/wagons available for the little ones. You buy a "membership" in order to get apples, but the membership also comes with discounts to hayrides and other activities. BUY THE MEMBERSHIP FIRST. Get there either very early or after lunch. Lines seemed to peak at 11am.

Very huge farm. Good for kids. I went this farm for apple picking in middle of September. You have to pay everything and its little pricy.(thats why 4 stars) Hey ride, 7.50$ for each person include one picking(on a green) pumpkin and one Doughnut(0.85cents). The corn was so good(3$). and also You can do picnic there. I want to come back for peach picking next year. :)

Hmmm...apples are pretty expensive, I think they were around $1.89/lb along with the $11 membership that you must pay for to do any picking, but at least its still fun and the membership covers up to 5 people for the season. Yummy cider donuts. We would go back next time for the corn maze and maybe some more pumpkins for the season.

It was a great family time. Nothing was too expensive. I recommend to buy the membership for apple picking and the go to the hayride. You get a dollar free per person! It was to fun, and my little one year old enjoyed everything.

The apples were all gone or squashed in the second weekend in October, the rest of the farm looked fun but I had to buy apples at a grocery store to have enough to make a pie. If you are going here go early in the season.

My favorite farm in NJ. My family and I go every year for Apple picking, hay ride and pumpkin patch. This spring we will be going for berry picking. The best pies ever! I buy atleast 4 pies whenever I visit.
