I was there today for my lunch! Food was good and service was good too, i sat down there and had my lunch. for to go i ordered another lunch box # 2 , they have mentioned the rice and there wasnt rice in my lunch box at all. second they have mentioned 4 rotis, i only got 2 rotis. i dont know why they did that? i am not sure that was intentionally or not but i feel cheated. they had to make sure before delivering to customer, if they are charging full price they should deliver as per menu says.. if they contact me and do something about this mistake i will definitely would thing to give them another rating otherwise, we have enough cheaters in this world. dont need anymore

Cheap price buffet, Avoid eating any other food. Poor quality of sweets.. 1. In buffet, you have no option but to eat the food. No matter what the quality of food is. Owner and their staff almost fought with me to either eat BAD QUALITY SWEET or give WASTE CHARGES $5 EXTRA. 2. Owner is very rude. At Times, if food quality is not upto the mark. Owner will never accept that. He will rudely say no-one else is complaining.. You are the only one. [Typical indian hotel owner answer]. He openly shouts at staff. 3. "Bengali sweet house" is owned by Non-Bengali Owner so dont expect Bengali flavor at all. Visit "Mithaas" for quality sweets.

I have been customer to this place for many years. They do have a large variety of Bengali, Indian and Pakistani pastries.Their Zalabies are the best BUT my problem with them was the same during all this years. They try to over charge white people. Their prices are always changing. They always manage to give you more and charge you more. Make sure to really check the total they ask you to pay. If you ask for one pound, make sure to have them give you the right weight and not more. The woman last time gave me a nasty look when I told her that my total was 14 dollars and Im not paying more. There are a whole lot sweet houses on newark avenue(Little India) as it is knows as. One day I was craving for the Indian sweets so decided to give this place a try. The spot right at the end of the Indian street, it has decent space to sit and eat too. Apart from sweets they carry and serve staple indian snack items. I took a box of sweets to go,went with different kinds of sweets. Had the Gulab Jamun, Rasgolla, Mango barfi, Cham Cham. Overall it was just okay, I liked Mango Barfi the most apart from that everything was on the dry side. My quest for an awesome Indian sweet shop is still on!

I would say its better to go for another restaurant, many at this place , they over charged me on buffet, it says $7 and they charged $8:50 , then they do not accept credit card so its 8:50+2 . Its true , they do not have fixed prices for anything, they charge as per customer, they try to charge as much as they can from you , Owner is sucks , I can not put myself into arguments with this kind of people , instead of fighting with him, I just decided not to visit this place again, I complained to the consumer service and hope this place shuts down soon

worst food ever, sweets were stale, unhygienic environment, real rude to customers, worst service ever especially by the owner, even I overheard the fat owner murmuring something about the customers in Indian language even though they tipped well. the owner has a very bad habit of shouting on employees and even on customers the prices are always different. I guess prices depends on the color and clothes of the customers...i guess there motto is to bargain on every thing there are no fixed prices they will try to take out from you as much as they can...

We should be able to give negative rating for this establishment. We always buy sweets from here and this time I found a broken toe nail in the sweets. We regret every purchase we ever made from here. We feel so cheated and violated. We have already complained to the health officials along with proof and pictures. I hope these guys are shut down if they cannot maintain basic hygiene. The food here is not even cheap but this is beyond gross negligence. Its a surprise they are not yet shut down by the health inspectors.

Best Indian Cuisine i ever visited in my life. Lunch special is amazing and very affordable at good price. Staff is very friendly and excellent service. They brings fresh Butter Roti, Dhosa and serves fresh food and server will keep coming to your table asking for Butter Roti if you need it more. Over all excellent service, great food and good people. I will recommend this place to every one.

Its a good place to eat vegeterian thali. Fresh home style cooked food with hot, soft fulka. Could be a space crunch during lunch hours. Menu spread is not big but most of the items are tasty and fresh prepared. If you want to try home style Gujrati vegeterian thali during lunch hours this is the place you should try

All food items and sweets look like theyve been cooked a week ago. Dry, and with no flavor. Tried the samosa and they took it from the fridge in front of my eyes and refried it. The outer shell was crumbly, the oil felt stale and the potato filling inside was dry. Avoid at all costs.

Doesnt even deserve a one star. Worst food worst service. The workers are not hygenic neither keep them clean when they come to work. If anyone come to this restaurant dont even think to have buffet. They can manage to eat these kind of food but not americans can handle.

Dont get misjudged by the name. Very unhygienic place. Did not like any of their sweets, tried almost all of them though. Rasgullas are no near to bengali rasgullas. Dont know why they have named it Bengali Sweets. The sweets looks bad and tastes horrible as well.

Sweet shop and Vegetarian buffet style lunches. One of the few places to get a good Daal Baati in the US. Note they have this policy of not wasting food. If you waste the food, they charge you more than the flat rate. Otherwise its eat all you can.

Economical and home cooked style buffet! Beware, owners charge extra if you waste food ;) I personally think their buffet is better than their sweets. $8 all you can eat buffet. They also give take out boxes at various rates.

Great home style Buffet with excellent value for money. Despite the pocket friendly prices the staff are very courteous. The place does get cramped given its popularity, but given the value for money its hard to complain.
