I am torn between being ungrateful for the food and describing the horrific experience. The starters were horrendous to the point that they probably sold off the spices instead of using them. Moving on to the biriyani, if I should call it that. I only checked the other reviews on the biriyani after ordering it and I waited hoping that the reviews were wrong. When it arrived I couldnt help notice how the dish was asking me to kill it! This restaurant doesnt serve biriyani, period! People who run start restaurants like this give me hope that one day I can (anyone even without a background in cooking) open an Indian restaurant. My only regret is that the chef probably doesnt even taste his own food. This sort of food should be served at shelters and not at a restaurant like this and extort people.

I went for buffet with my family and the most dissapointing lunch it was, as there was no dal along with rice. When I asked one of the waiter fot the dal he said, there was no dal and u can have rice with sabji... That was so annoying bcz the sabji they had was Undhiyu, paneer and kofta. After i was done n paying the bill, i told the waiter i want to talk to the manager. He called up the manager and explained him the situation, so the manager said u can provide him whichever dal he wants to order. This was a very strange experience i have ever had in this restaurant.

All the good reviews are probably from a non - Indian customers !! The worst food ! Not even close to Indian . Ordered samosa and veg platter ! Omg my dog s hit might be tasty I guess ! The biryani - dont even start about it ! Its like soggy rice ( cheap basmati rice ) the rice is so wet and the taste is like yuck !!! Even a single star is not worth giving ! Who ever the chef is , he should be trained or he should be replaced ! Guys not worth your money ! Not worth even if its free the food is awesomely worst !!!

I hope they understand the meaning of Briyani. Making Curry and adding rice ( Thick Rice - Poor Quality Basmati Rice ) doesnt makes it a Briyani. We had Chicken Tikka and Goat Briyani. Chicken wasnt fresh. Water releasing from rice. Not at all Indian Authentic Briyani. No way eating food at this place anymore. Kindly find a better place if you are hungry and looking for Indian Cuisine. Too Pricy!. Not even a Penny worth. Better eat a Burger and Be Satisfied. Never recommend to anyone. Posted - DEC-10-2016

This is my favorite Indian place in this area. My Indian coworker doesnt like it, prefers Garam Masala, which Im not a fan of. So basically, different places for different tastes. Ive been here many times and never had the problems other people are describing. The dishes are different and flavorful, and if one of them gets low during a buffet, wait 5 minutes and it will get replenished. Have you guys ever been to a buffet before? I love the different sauces used here. If I get to choose, its Jyoti every time.

Ive been here a few times for dinner and think the food is pretty stellar. Without a doubt, its the best Indian restaurant in the area. The ambiance is also really fun between the visual set up and decoration of the place combined with the mild club-themed music they have playing. Lastly, Ive always been impressed with how kind the staff is. Theyre always entertaining and overly polite. If youre in the area and dont eat here, youre doing yourself a disservice for sure.

The food here is excellent. The staff are rude and dismissive. As I sit here eating lunch. The one waiter poured my water, proceeded to spill it, and left his mess on the table. So big pools of water on my table! The food is great and the lunch buffet is just a tasty treat but asking for anything or even getting a refill of water is met with cold indifference. It wasnt always like this but this is bad......

Some of the better Indian food in NJ. The buffet is amazing for $11. Most restaurants dont have paneer subzis for buffet but here not only is it available, its also delicious. Edit: Went for dinner and I was slightly less impressed. The Indo-Chinese wasnt good at all. The Manchurian were undercooked and there was just too much corn starch in the sauce. I do still recommend it for Indian food lovers.

I travel a lot for work and look for 2 things while Im on the road: good Indian and good sushi. Im still looking for good sushi around here, but this is some of the best Indian food Ive had. Tonight I got the Panir Kathi Roll and the chicken tikka Masala. I highly recommend both. Great portions, rice comes with the chicken, large sized sauces when getting take out. Great stuff good value.

I have been to this buffet. The ambiance was good and the dishes were good in taste. But the problem is with one of the bearer(old person), he goes on starring at us while we are serving food and eating, it is the only embarrassing thing. Saw in other reviews that this issue was resolved! Anyway worth a visit for good food on a weekend. Have ample of parking place.

Chicken Korma was ok. Staff seemed friendly, but service was very slow. Had to wait for staff to take order, for food to arrive, for bread to come out, for bill to arrive, and for credit card to be taken. I think they were understaffed for a weeknight. Otherwise, not a bad restaurant. Good atmosphere and clean.

I have been a fan of Indian food for over 10 years and have eaten at many different restaurants around the country. The food quality at Jyoti was excellent with great flavor, spices, and quality. The ambiance was great as well and set a great mood for a romantic dinner. I will be enjoying many future dinners there!

Honestly cannot say anything bad about this restaurant. Incredible food, staff is very friendly, and the food seems very fresh. Ill admit it lacks a bit in the spice department, Im guessing theyve americanized their menu a bit. If youre looking for real heat make sure you order extra hot, double extra hot etc.

Been coming here for years and Ive never had a problem. Always good service, food, and environment. Its very authentic. Dishes are well portioned and food comes out fast. The naan bread is a must have with any meal. Inside is beautiful, outside could use some cleaning up to draw more new customers in.

Decent Indian restaurant in a small strip mall off of Route 46. The place was clean and the food was tasty. I tried their Lamb Vindaloo and the Bayngan Bhurta. Both were excellent. and the Naan was especially good. I would definitely try this place again.

This is by far the best tasting and most consistant Indian restaurant in the area. It is a bit slow but they are very friendly. I have eaten at about six others in the area and the only one that comes close is in Elmwood Park but it is still a distant second.

Food was great, and prices are pretty decent too. Food was pretty mild for us but when we asked for medium spicy,it came out very well. Everything was really refreshing and fresh. Love their mango lassie and Indian ice cream.
