Nestled in downtown Freehold, NJ, in between San Marzano Trattoria lies a hidden gem, Brooklyn Bagels & Deli. Its located in a strip mall directly across the street from Court Jesters. Upon walking up to the door, youll see happy customers and sitting in the 3 or 4 tables located outside the door enjoying their freshly brewed coffee and bagels. As soon as you enter, youre instantly greeted by FRIENDLY employees. I know! VERY HARD to find around here. These workers/owners great you with not only a hearty "hello" but they actually take the time to help you with your order, especially if its your first time here. Those of you who know me know what Im all about...FOOD! So lets get to the real review...and let me tell you, THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST BAGELS AROUND! I know youre probably thinking, "Nah Chris my bagel place is awesome." Well youre WRONG. Why? Four words....Jalapeno & Cheddar Bagels. Thats right! This place has perfectly cooked, fresh prepared every morning bagels, that have fricken jalapeno and cheese on top of them! Check out the photos if you think Im making this up. Not to mention they make a MEAN pork roll egg and cheese. Theyre the only ones I know of that put egg on both sides of the pork roll (see photo). Their homemade cream cheese combined with a nice french toast bagels can turn a crappy weekend into heaven! Trust me. Give this place a try...just make sure you leave at least two Jalapeno and Cheddar bagels for me!

A good place for a quick bite while on jury duty. There was a cafe inside the Monmouth county court house. It had good coffee, but food was not as good. So on the second day of my jury duty, I ventured out to Freehold downtown in search of lunch. Brooklyn Bagels was about a 10+ minutes brisk walk from the court house. It had a parking lot, so if you did not want to walk there, it was only a 3 minutes drive. It had 4 (or was it 5?) seats if you wanted to eat in. But most people ordered to go as the space was tight. I had The Italiano - Panini with grilled chicken, roasted peppers, mozzarella, and pesto sauce. It was freshly made and very tasty, though the pesto sauce made my hands quite messy. So make sure to ask for extra napkins. I went back again the next day and ordered a Baffallo Soldier - grilled chicken wrap with Baffallo wing sauce. Though the sauce was not spicy enough for me, it was still tasty with a warm whole wheat wrap. Service was pretty quick and very friendly. It was definitely worth the trip.

Brooklyn Bagels & Deli is the spot to go. Whether youre looking for the amazing cup of coffee to get you going, one of their delicious bagels, or a sandwich creation like any other, Louie and the team gotcha covered. Their coffee is literally the best cup Ive ever had, and dont get me wrong.. Ive had good coffee. Always brewed fresh, its what I look forward to every morning, especially that Chocolate Raspberry! Bagels, sandwiches, even a quick snack, everything is prepared delectably. The bagels are made so perfectly, no one in the state can even come close. They put real pride in what they do everyday, and you may think, hey its just a bagel place, but when you can go into a place and they know your name, and ask about your kids, it becomes so much more than just a quick stop for a cup of coffee or a lunch. Do your taste buds a favor and stop in. You wont be sorry.

Ever been addicted to a food? For me its the Jalapeño Cheese bagels here. I religiously beat it over there every weekend. My car is on automatic pilot. The staff are friendly and courteous. They recognize me as a frequent buyer. Marvin Gaye sung a song "Make you wannna holler". Thats how I feel about those bagels. They are crisp and crunchy on the outside and delectably soft and fluffy on the inside. There are pieces of jalapeño imbedded in the top that give you a surprise jolt when you bite into them. I truly holler with delight every time that happens. Worth a visit to try them out.

This is the real deal. We drive from Metuchen for these bagels. They are made as NY and Brooklyn bagels were made when we were kids. Theyre chewy, full of flavor and not so large you cant eat a whole one, yourself. Friends in Florida ask us to ship them, fly down with them, and its the 1st place they want us to take them when they visit. These are true water bagels. Friends bring us Florida citrus; we take them Brooklyn bagels from Freehold. Weve not found a better bagel.

This is my favorite bagel place in Freehold! The bagels fit my definition of perfect. I do not even toast them because they are just right. Try out the jalapeño and cheddar bagel, by far the best bagel ever! (If you like spicy) Also, the people who work there are so friendly! They take the time to get to know their customers. I definitely recommend everyone to try their bagels.

No other bagel place in freehold compares to Brooklyn bagels. Staff is always so friendly and bagels taste amazing and flavorful especially their muffin bagels. They are quick and have so many different and healthy options as well.
