My boyfriend and I decided to try out Ramen Sora the other night since weve never been. Originally I was discouraged due to the fact that the last time we went, we arrived almost an hour before closing and were turned away with them saying "they were already closed". We asked why the time posted outside was different and they said, "Well were going to do last call in a few minutes". We had been waiting and already decided what we were going to eat, and they had a table open, but were just to lazy to serve us, so we went elsewhere. This time we went, and there was a significant wait, but nothing terribly unreasonable. We ordered the Screaming for Vengeance Ramen, and their No. 1 Ramen, as well as a hot tea and the UCC Melon Soda. Drinks came fairly quickly. I was confused if my tea was actually tea, because of how subtle the flavor was and how watery clear it looked, but because we were in the wait line for a while, I drank my water and tea almost immediately. My water was half gone before the waitress left our table. Our food came about 10 minutes later, and still no refills. The food itself was good. Their No. 1 ramen had a lot of chashu which was fantastic. The screaming for vengeance ramen had a unique flavor. It had a kind of spice that was very peppery? I personally was not a fan of it. It also wasnt ridiculously hot. If you dont regularly eat spicy, this would be a challenge, but if you enjoy very spicy foods, this is pretty easy to eat. It was good that this wasnt too harsh of a dish, because none of our drinks have been refilled yet. They were not refilled the entire meal, nor did we get a server asking us if we needed anything. There was a distinct lack of attention from the moment you step in, to the moment you leave. Overall, the food itself was good, but its not better than other ramen shops in the area. The wait isnt worth it and the awful service doesnt seem to be changing, so we will likely not be returning.

Like the Little Engine that Could, I really wanted to like this place; I really tried. But like the Carrot Tops career in stand-up, it just didnt work. Well, actually Carrot Top is a stretch; he just was awful. Id be embarrassed if I woke up as him everyday. But hey, people know his name, so Ill give him that. Oh yeah, the food. I guess I was spoiled by the Ramen in LA. NYC Ramen is pretty good. (Man, I know that Im gonna get some flack from some people about that comment.) And DC Ramen is...well, where is DC Ramen. Theres like one place that I know of that serves it, and its overrun by a bunch of wanna hipsters. Well, the noodles were a little too hard. It didnt seem like it was cooked enough. The price was good though. I will admit to that. Theres something to be said about the menu system. There was the basic Ramen, and then there were add-ons like all places, but some certain combinations of add-ons actually resulted in "another type of Ramen." I felt like I was confusing the waitress by asking for the "basic" and putting in X,Y,Z add-on and it ended up being some "other Ramen" that was on the menu. Am I making sense at all? No? Fine. Sall good. Go to LA. If you cant, go here.

Amazing Ramen. While in Vegas we made decided to go get some ramen, a few places were on the map, all with excellent reviews. We traveled out to the area where Ramen Sora is, but found out the place we were going was closed. Ramen Sora was next on the list, so thats where we ended up. Which turned out great because the ramen we got here was some of the best ramen Ive ever had. We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. I ordered the butter & corn miso ramen, and a side of the killer spicy meat. I ate about half the bowl before adding the killer meat which was pretty hot and completely changed the flavor of the ramen. I wanted to experience the regular bowl before turning it into a fiery bowl of noodles. The killer meat bomb turned the whole bowl bright red. We also ordered a few extra sides of chashu that we added to our bowls. Our whole group drank a few of the melon Ramune sodas as well, the Vegas heat made us thirsty. I felt the ramen was better than some of the other places Id tried in Texas, and the prices were cheaper as well. The ramen was excellent and service was good. It was a great experience, and I will visit again in the future bringing my travel companions in tow.

This place has quite a buzz and a friend highly recommended it as the best ramen in Vegas...boy was this a disappointment. There was a wait which is to be expected for someplace hip and in demand. The service was decent and the atmosphere dark, busy, and loud. This felt to me like a dive bar... but it was a ramen shop. The menu looked great and we ordered the nori ramen and the sora deluxe, both with miso broth. The food came and we dug in. I thought it had a weird fishy taste. The broth was very oily, noodles were too thick for my taste and the pork too meaty and overpowered the whole thing. I finished it but wasnt satisfied and my wife had the same opinion. The rest of that night and for several days after both my wife and I had digestive issues which we can only attribute to this meal. Perhaps something was wrong with our meal in particular because this place seems super popular and loved by many... at any rate we wont be going back.

Ramen Sora has some of the best ramen in town, better than anyone else in my opinion. However, it is coupled with the worst service of all our ramen restaurants. Once your ramen is on the table, they couldnt care less about you. If youre lucky you might get a refill of your drink, IF its a soda or a beer. If you have water, just forget about about it. They cant be bothered to bring a check, or even give you a to go container for an unfinished meal. When I brought this up to the waitress, whos been there for several years, she just gave me a condescending smile and repeatedly said, "Oh so sorry." Couldnt have cared less. Well, I guess I couldnt care less about that tip I was going to give her. Anyways, The ramen is 5 star, definitely, but the service is 1. We have too many ramen restaurants with great service in town these days to accept crappy service from Sora.

I ordered the Nori Ramen in Miso broth. This broth is super flavorful and salty, I mean really really salty and flavorful. If you are totally crazy about eating salty food, youll love this. The dish comes with half an egg, chopped green onion, strips of bamboo shoots and some form of meat which I wasnt able to identify but I assume it may be pork. It is a very hearty soup with oily soft noodle in an oily meaty broth. Although it isnt something Id want to eat regularly due to the high calories including the high fat and cholesterol content, Id imagine many people would love this dish and obviously this place. It is decorated in a modern Asian style with nice lighting, a nice ambience and a spacious interior. For fans of ramen, this is a five star rating kind of place. For someone like me, I will pass on ramen noodles.
