The closest thing you can get in America without boarding a plane for some truly great ramen. Every time i have gone here, for the past two years, i have always ordered and never been disappointed. There is a consistency to their ramen which helps keep the flavors at their peak. The broth is perfect and their selection and bowl size layout is perfect and easy to understand. This shine of deliciousness only accepts cash though, so you have been forewarned. Plus their pork and rice is like nothing i have ever tasted, even writing this makes me wish i had another bowl in front of me right now hahahahaha. Nothing, and i mean nothing can beat this place when it comes to ramen in Convoy.

A hidden Ramen shop hidden inside the Mitsuwa market. The Ramen is alright and there is a nice display that helps you choose what to order. This place is quite popular so it can be hard to find a seat sometimes. The parking lot is narrow and crowded so parking can be a nightmare as well. Food was alright and I found it overrated and pricey. I prefer other Ramen restaurants nearby much more such as raki raki which is my personal favorite. This place only accepts cash and you bus and seat yourself like any food court at the mall. The convenient part is you can also pick up some groceries or snacks afterwards in Mitsuwa.

Feels like you walked into a Japanese neighborhood store. They pretty much have everything with good prices. They have a small restaurant that serves original ramen noodles with real Japanese taste. On the other side of the restaurant is a crepes cafe with delicious treats and drinks. Yes, they do speak English. For Spanish speakers, go to the back where the fresh seafood is and there are employees who are Hispanic. They are friendly and will help. Parking is very limited and will be hard to find. Sundays is when its more relaxed than other days, so shopping is more comfortable.

This was decent Ramen and should hit the spot. Its in a supermarket in a smallish food court, right next to a Japanese restaurant. The broth was tasty. Im no expert, but I have eaten at Ramen restaurants that I enjoyed more and where they soft-boiled the eggs (these seemed to be hard boiled). Its worth getting the version with the leaner meat if you add pork. The other version was too fatty for my tastes.

One of our all time favorite ramen places!!! This place takes cash only but is definitely worth it. Their combo dishes are great. I usually get the spicy miso ramen with a bowl of rice and pork belly. Dont forget to thank the kind ladies that clean up your table after youre done eating :) Environment: Clean and busy Seating: Plenty Favorite Dish: #108 Spicy Miso Ramen with a bowl of rice and chasu

This ramen restaurant is inside the Mitsuwa market. The service is fast and there is a lot of variety. You can customize your ramen to how you like it. Cafeteria style seating but plenty of seats even when it is busy. If you want to not go shopping hungry and end up buying the whole store then get a good bowl of ramen here. And the ramen here is very good.

Best Ramen in town hands down. While there are many fancy ramen shops that have now opened, no one does it better than Santouka. They only take cash and wont give you take out, but it is well worth it. Its in a cafeteria style setting inside of the Mitsuwa market, but the broth is so rich and tasty that the environment youre in wont matter.

The Salt Ramen Soup Taste so good with the sesame oil. The meat has the fat on it and I normally dont like it but over here the whole thing is just very tasty. Totally worth the price but I wish it wasnt so expensive. $9 for a medium bowl! $9 for Ramen, thats just crazy!!! Can only have it once in a while as a treat.

The best ramen in San Diego. I crave it constantly. True, unfussy ramen. The special pork salt ramen is my favorite. It is pretty salty but in a good way and delicious. Theyve recently increased prices though. A large bowl of ramen will run you $14-$15. Used to be $12-$13. Still worth it!

The ramen! Its really good here and the atmosphere is always pleasant as well. My go-to spot when its cold and rainy, or when someone else wants ramen. Mitsuwa market is really cool, too ND I try to give them a lite business whenever I visit Santouka .

The ramen here is second to Terri Cafe, but still quite good --especially considering its in a food court. Theyve messed up my order a few times, but again, its a food court. The shoyu was way better than the miso, but that might just be my bias.

Me encanta todo, el caldo tiene un sabor especial, los fideos son perfectos y su spicy miso lo mejor.

I love to eat ramen and have tried lots places. I have to say this is the best one in SD. The soup base is so good. "Salt" and "spicy miso" are my favorite. I moved out SD years ago but still miss the ramen from Santouka!

best raman in town, broth is intensely flavored, their premium pork is tender and delicious! I like you get a choice in sizes. Down side is theyre in a grocery store, so their hours are limited.

Since I am partial vegetarian, my husband who is the one who always order its ramen. Soup is so hearty healthy rich (not clear soup), meats are sliced nicely. But price is expensive.

Santouka is the standard ramen to what all other ramen places are compared to. This place, like all other santoukas, has good soup and thin noodles.

It was the closest tasting ramen I had that tasted similar to that of Japan. The flavor is not as strong, but it brought back some fond memories.

Great food court. Authentic Japanese grocery items. Good sushi and sashimi selection. Just a bit more expensive than the average supermarket.

Had the Tokusen toroniku ramen, spicy version. Broth was rich. Pork was tender. Loved it. Bring cash; they dont take credit cards.

- Good ramen but very small portion and high price. - The place closes super early, so no late night dinners. - Cash only.

CASH ONLY, and its inside Mitsuwa market. Dont come here looking for a storefront. I was overwhelmed by the choices.
