Does Good Food Make Up For Horribly Uncaring Staff? Read the reviews for this place and didnt believe that the hostess could possibly be as bad as reviewed... I was WRONG! We arrived at around 12:30am after watching Cirque du Soleils One. there were 3 tables of 2 ahead of us and the hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait. Not bad. However, once we entered the restaurant we could clearly see seating for the 6 people in front of us at the centre communal table. in fact, there was seating available for 8. The hostess instead chose to putter around doing not much anything at all. We were stunned to observe her for our entire wait (which turned out to be 35 minutes even though there were obvious seat available the entire time) basically do the bare minimal and really slowly. even making change for people paying their bills. Seriously terrible! She either has no clue how to do this basic job or simply doesnt care. The wait staff didnt seem to care much for helping her speed things up either. Perhaps theyre sick of helping her or have grown desensitized to the needs of waiting patrons. We eat out pretty much all the time and seriously have never witnessed this kind of host ever! Why didnt we leave? We love ramen and read too many reviews about how good the ramen is, so we pushed through and finally got a seat and ordered after an hour of waiting. So we all ordered the Tonkatsu Eamen Black. And the verdict? It was REALLY GOOD. The broth was super rich and creamy, although my wife and i found it too salty, our teenaged son loved it. i also would have preferred it a little thinner. it was the thickest tonkatsu broth ive ever had. The consistency of the broth was more of a cream soup so i dont like that. But really full of flavour. the Charsu was also one of the absolute best weve ever had. the Tamago egg was completely over done. It wasnt soft at all. It was simply a hard boiled egg, so that was pretty disappointing. Garlic oil was superb, however the noodles were a bit disappointing as well. They were basic Chinese egg noodles that you can pick up at any supermarket. Overall, the ramen was only a 7/10. Worth the wait and putting up with uncaring staff?... no... if the hostess would get some basic training and speed things up as well as work on her public relation skills, Id likely put up with the wait. But this just seemed like they were arrogantly trying to make people line up for some things that were above average and some things below average. Change the attitude and actually care about the paying customer and then waiting in line here may actually be justified. We also tried the Panacotta and it was also really good, so that helped move the overall rating up. I also have to mention that once we did get a table, our waiter was quite nice and caring. would have loved to see that as we were waiting. no seats to sit on while waiting and nobody offered even a glass of water. Makes me think the waiter (who must have walked passed us a dozen time as we waited to be seated) only was pleasant once a tip was on the line. Anyways, if you want to put up with the uncaring neglectful staff for maybe slightly better than average food, the. this place is for you. If you dont mind paying a few dollars more for way better service and tons better hand made noodles and amazing pick belly, youre better off with Momifuku in the Cosmopolitan Hotel! Seriously fantastic!

This is my favorite restaurant. Really good food at a good price and the staff is so friendly. They know how to provide good service unlike most restaurants in las vegas So this was my favorite place in vegas. The staff isnt quite as friendly as they used to be. The service has gone down. Every single time I order spicey chicken ramen and ask for no bean sprouts because I hate them. Use to when I ordered it that way they would get the order right. Now on the other hand Ive noticed that every time they put the bean sprouts on the bottom. That way I dont see them until I stir my ramen. The last time I went I sent it back and got treated to dirty looks for one of the cooks the rest of the time I was there. I also dont appreciate the fact that they rush you to leave now. At least thats what they do to us. And if you go before shift change you will end up with a different server. They wont let you know what happened. Youll just spend 15 mins trying to find your server until you finally get someones attention. Theyve made it abundantly clear that they dont want my business.

I was told another JR will be opening up in San Jose CA. The franchisee consultant told me that I can stop by their Vegas location since I was going to in in town for Superbowl. So I came and got lucky. It was peak time and bomb loud, but since I was a single diner, it wasnt a problem. Workers were fantastic never rushed me gave me all the time I needed. Im no beginner in ramen, so I went after the Jinya Tonkotsu Black. Fearing not enough protein I added a side (2pcs). Saw mini poke tacos and knew I had to try them. Ramen was hearty and delicious on this colder night. Broth wasnt salty and noodles were al dente. Soft boiled egg was a little overdone, but edible. Poke tacos were just alright, a few pieces of poke on each with cilantro and lime to dress it up. Wash it down with a Sculpin IPA and that was pretty much my evening meal.

(Warning: Young adults from Central Florida in for vacation) We were offered some of the best tasting cuisine during our visit at AWESOME PRICES as well. My JINYA TONKOTSU BLACK WASN’T TOO OILY OR SALTY. Splashes of boiling garlic oil and dabs of hot sauce allowed for various flavors to suddenly creep up in the middle of eating. THE CHA CHA CHA WAS VERY GARLICKY BUT STILL APPROACHABLE. Both contained GENEROUS AMOUNTS OF SOFT PORK, CRUNCHY VEGETABLES, SEASONED & SOFT EGG- nothing was stingy. Meanwhile, although it was visually appealing, we thought there was too much sauce on our Takoyaki. This RESTAURANT WAS STUFFED WITH FAMILIES, MANY ASIANS (always a good sign an Asian establishment is good), and many ages as well during our Friday lunch visit. I’d love to return.

This place is great because it is open late. I would get out of work late and have ramen cravings so this would be the place to go. It is also good because it has vegetarian options so it is the best ramen house for picky friends. But it is not my favorite. The food is really good, and it has a wide variety of flavors and styles. But it seems a bit like trendy ramen versus classic style. And I also love hot, but their hot is mild at best. Regardless I love their tonkatsu black, it is full of flavors, and I wasnt sure I was going to dig thin noodles but they have grown on my through my visits. Service is always good, and atmosphere is nice but a bit dark at night. Oh and their womens toilet is butt heaven - tempted to give it an extra star for that alone. :P
