I recently attended Plank. I was very excited about having oysters for the first time at a restaurant. I ordered a Baked Oyster Rockefeller ( 6 cooked oysters) and my girlfriend ordered a chicken salad. We had superb service at the bar, was even offered a free drink. The drinks and food tasted great, the night after did not. I consumed my oyster supper at 8:30 P.M. and I started to develop intense stomach pains around 12:04 A.M. The cramping led to puking for two hours. My stomach would tie into a knot until I would vomit. It would subside and the cramping would reappear. After the puking slowed, the diarrhea came. That persisted till 3:00 A.M. I have never previously had food poisoning but this was surely directed to something I ate. The only thing I had consumed that night after Planks was Ben and Jerrys ice cream. Upon calling Plank the following day, I was told by the General manager, Matt, that they continuously keep track of food temperature and that it more than likely wasnt from cross contamination. He also wrongly stated that food poisoning symptoms develop after 24 hours, not within the first couple hours. Look at any medical file and it will show that food poisoning occurs 2-4 hours after the food is ingested. I am a 25 year old healthy male with no underlying conditions. I cannot prove that my food poisoning came from Planks but everything points in that direction. I was not compensated for my meal and I surely will not be re-attending.

#review We went to Plank for their happy hour. We ordered MOST of the happy hour menu. Favorites for me were the raw oysters and the white fish stew. The braised beef flat bread was done very well as well. The calamari was good. The clamstrips seemed like they were from 2 different batches where half was great and the other half really not (overcooked). The shrimp cocktail was old and the peelneat shrimp was fine... A bit much for the seasoning on it for me, but it wasnt bad. The catfish didnt have much of a taste to it compared to the other items. The oysters were larger than the ones Im used to at my usual buckashuck place. They gave all the proper toppings (mignonette, horseradish, cocktail sauce, lemon wedges and cocktail sauce). For the price 4/5 stars. If I had to pay full price Im not sure if I would be able to give it as high of a score due to some over cooked/old food. However, for Happy Hour I would go again happily.

Me and my fiancé had checked out Plank for our first time 2 weeks ago, exceptionally good food!! We visited again yesterday night and we were seated and didnt even get greeted by anybody for 10-20minutes!!! A lady waited on us asking if our server (a male) had come to check in on us yet and we said no we havent even been able to order drinks.. she got our drinks for us and more time goes by before we were waited on again, we were 5 minutes close to walking strait out the door and finding somewhere else to eat.. if the food wasnt as good as it is when we visited 2 weeks ago we wouldnt have let it gone that long before we were waited on... its very disappointing being that was the last night I got to have dinner with my fiancé before I had to leave town for work and was really looking forward to having a carefree and great dining experience such as the first visit.... dont think I will be going there again.

Took the family to happy hour on Sunday to enjoy some oysters. Enjoyed two dozen of the filter feeders. Fresh quality for Omaha. Best you can get, flown in daily. The family also enjoyed a salmon salad and lobster rolls. The buns served with the lobster rolls were absolutely perfect!! Toasted and buttered well. The family also enjoyed freshly-squeezed lemonade, wines by the glass, and some martinis. All were great. Especially loved the unique wine selections. Cody did a great job waiting on us. Plank had five different types of fresh oysters. Wish I would have known in advance not all the oysters are on "Happy hour" pricing. Make it more obvious what oysters are on "happy hour" pricing please. Normally $38 dozen at happy hour goes to $18. Only one of the five were on special however. Would go back in a heartbeat! Held back on 5 stars because "happy hour" pricing was not obvious.

Know for food but not unimpressed by the awful service. We were seated and it took more than several minutes to get a drink. Asked if they could make a Pear Martini and was told by waiter ( who was training another person) that he would ask and didnt think it could come with any garnish. I said no problem dont need garnish as long as you can make it. Waiter comes back and hands me a martini I asked you were able to make it... great... he doesnt reply and leaves our table I take a big drink to find out it was only vodka!! Several minutes go by again and waiter comes back to table and me and husband tell him it just Vodka, and he replies oh I guess all we have is pear vodka. I asked him why he didnt say that when I asked & made the remark that they were able to make it? He did bring us some simple syrup. Waiter responds well since you drank out of it I cant take it back to the bar.

Good atmosphere and good food! So, they arent offering some of the traditional foods... Youre not going to get crab legs or a nice steamed lobster here. (Well... I might be mistaken on the latter but it doesnt seem to be their style.) What you can get are chowder fries (basically clam chowder with bacon and French fries in it), grilled bacon wrapped jalapeno stuffed shrimp, and oysters from 4 places in Virginia, 1 in Massachusetts, and 1 in Louisiana. You are getting a raspberry cobbler, banana Foster bread pudding, key lime panna cotta, and a lot of other delicious things. You can get some of those traditional seafoods just about anywhere. You can get the things I named at Plank. If youre standing outside the door wondering what they serve, they have a menu posted outside for your perusal and enjoyment.

Was there last Sunday during their all day happy hour. Ordered 24 oysters along with our food. They forgot about the oysters and when it came some of the oysters were about the size of a quarter. Wasnt close enough to hit the spot so we ordered more. $1 oysters arent that much of a deal when you have to order double to come close to what other places offer around town. The mojitos were watered down also. Seems like you get what you pay for at happy hour here. Was there earlier in the week for our first time visit. The food was alright but not worth the bill. So we wanted to give it a shot during happy hour times and it was just a big disappointment. I think I will stick to my regular place.

My wife and I moved to Iowa from Louisiana and hadnt enjoyed some good southern-style food in months. It was our first time visiting Omaha and Old Market has a variety of restaurants to choose from. We decided with Plank because of the atmosphere and appealing menu. There was plenty of cajun/creole inspired items and they all sounded good. My wife had the blackened catfish and I had the shrimp en brouchette. They were fantastic. The craft beer they had on tap was great. And our server was very personable and diligent. We will definitely be coming back next time were in Omaha.
