By far the worst restaurant Ive ever eaten at!!!!!! The appetizer was ok. I ordered the fried shrimp and fried oyster plate It was terrible! !! The outside of the oysters were fried very dark and the inside was not cooked well enough. I ended up takibg the shrimp out of the fry coating because the fry coating for everything was so bland even after adding there table seasoning. The hushpuppies had a sweet taste ob the inside but the outside made it taste like grease. My fiance got a sampler. He requested no coleslaw sub for sweet potato fries. They brought his food out with slaw. He told the waiter who brought his food out. The waiter did apologize and told him hed bring out the fries. The rest of his foit was like mine...not good!!! His fried fish was slimy inside so he didnt even eat it. So our original waitress brought our bill out. There was an extra meal on our bill. I had to get her to go and correct the bill. Even though she saw all of that food left on the table, she never even offered a to go tray..( we were not planning on taking it anyhow but its principal). Let me mention that a table near us ordered an appetizer. The guy that brought it out just sat it on the wrong table and walked off. The people at that table handed it to the correct table. Our waitress told her that they are really busy and its causing them to have to move really fast so thats why its been such a confusion. Im confused ..isnt thats what is suppose to happen????? Never ever again will they get any money from me!!!!!!! Rate -10

Im not giving them 1 star due to the food being nasty because the food is fairly tasty depending on what you order, however the customer service is horrible! Ive been here 3 times and all 3 times I have had an issue with either the food or CS. The last time I was here, I ordered something off the menu that looked absolutely nothing like the picture. I didnt even touch the food and asked for something different. The waitress rolled her eyes and sighed as she proceeded to get the manager. The manager then comes ( he is very rude as well) and tells me I am unable to switch out my food even though I have not even TOUCHED this plate. At this point I am very unhappy I am paying $20 for a plate of food I am not going to eat. Then as me and my girlfriend receive our bill, everything we ordered is $2 more than what the menu says AND we were uncharged for sides which we were never advised of (the menu does not state this at all as well). So again, the waitress has to get the manager, she again proceeds to with an attitude. He did however deduct the $2 off each entree but we were still charged an extra $3 for the sides we were ordered when we were never told this. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE!!!!!

Am I not allowed to give them zero stars?! The food is amazing which sucks. Because Im going to miss it. The wait staff isnt just horrible theyre lowlifes. Ive had a bad experience with a wait staff the last three times. The first two times was the same guy who was just rude and very slow. The most recent time was a girl who was unforgivably bad. Everything seemed okay up until she took the money. We split tickets and she hadnt brought the change back from my brothers hundred-dollar Bill. Itll probably been 10 minutes at least and my sister said loudly is she just going to keep the change. I assume this is what made the waitress mad because she was in ear shot. We left and my sister accidentally forgot her cigarettes on the table. The waitress came outside and handed him the cigarettes. The waitress went back inside and my sister opened her cigarettes to find that the waitress had broken every single one of them. My sister wanted to let it go but I went back and talked to the night manager. She said she couldnt do anything about it but she said she would have the manager call me in the morning. I gave her my number and the manager never called me. Maybe the management condones this kind of behavior.

I work less than a block away from Jazz. On 3 different occassions weve decided Jazz for lunch. We have always had an issue regarding time when receiving our food! All 3 times we have been LATE getting back to work from an 1 1/2 hr. lunch break. Our waitress stated to us " Im here till 5 so take your time" , than walked away. This is after we told her we were ready to place our order. After 40 minutes of waiting for our food, we expressed our concerns to our server and she stated she would get her manager. Well, 30 minutes and 1 check of $46 later, we still did not see the manager. When we were exiting the restaurant our server came to us and stated "This is my manager, would you like to speak to him?" (As we passed an African American gentleman standing and folding silverware}. We told her no we were already late for work and needed to return. I think the food is OUTSTANDING at Jazz. I believe the servers need to respect customers time. Some us cant be " here until 5"

By far the worst Cajun Seafood restaurant Ive been to my brother, sister and I went here lunch . For starters it wasnt crowed at all so we shouldve not had to wait almost 2 hours to receive our food. During the wait the waiter never came to check to see if we were ok or needed anything . Once the food came out my brothers shrimp po boy was cold and my sisters sausages in her red beans in rice was burned. I ordered 2 lbs of crawfish which I couldnt bare to eat. They where dry, over cooked, and poorly seasoned. When I ate one it tasted like plastic. We asked to see the manager and when he came out we explained the problem and he got an attitude with us and started to raise his voice. We will never be going back here again.

I go with a friend who loves Jambalaya. If you havent been, get there early. Parking is hell. This is a college type bar/restaurant with Americana/jazz decorations and writing on every surface imaginable. We both had the Seafood St Charles, which was good, spicy, and my friend got a pearl out of the deal. We were looking at it and it looked like size 4 shot, but the chef said it was from the oysters and it was a pearl. I dont think there are many places like this in KC. It feels a little like BBs Lawnside BBQ. For lunch, if your eyesight is going, bring your readers or your phone, otherwise you may not be able to read the menu. I like it. BTW my buddy thinks they have some of the best jambalaya hes ever had!

My wife and I made the drive from Lees Summit on Sunday (25-30 min). It is one of our favorite destination restaurants. We sat in the bar area and the bartender was our server. He was amazing. Very prompt and friendly. My wifes favorite was zooks and shrooms which is not on the menu any more and he said no problem!!!!! So zooks and shrooms, a dozen oysters, 3 beers a piece, shrimp czarina and stuffed catfish and 2 hours later we had a great time. Still eating leftovers 3 days later. Thanks for a great date day!! P.s. What is the bartenders name. Kind of shorter blond haired guy with glasses? Definately will sit in his section next time. Thanks Ben and Jess
