Amazing food. Great small restaurant atmosphere. Kindest owners. I cant believe I havent written a review before! My friends and I started coming here in high school, now more than 10 years later its STILL our favorite go to Japanese place. (Really its just our favorite place to eat period). We always go with the Teppanyaki meals and most commonly the filet and shrimp. You cant go wrong here, everything is just that good. The only mistake you can make is ordering white rice instead of fried (their fried rice is too good to miss). Another reason we love this place is because its the only restaurant in KC that caters to ginger lovers of the world. One of our friends moved to OR and she got a quart of the ginger sauce to take home with her. Word is still out on whether or not it made it okay in her suitcase... Highly, highly recommend this small but perfect Japanese spot!

The food was alright, not horrible, but definitely not excellent either. Sauces make a lot of difference at Japanese steakhouses, and theirs werent very good. The service was ok, but the performance of the chef wasnt very good at all. And to top it off, they put 3 holds on my credit card totaling 2.5x what the meal actually cost. I tried calling them, but they cant find my receipt. Of course. In the end, the correct amount did end up going through, but what an annoyance. The actual cost of the meal was comparable to other steakhouses, but still expensive. Overall, Han Shin is definitely not worth the cost. If youre looking for a good Japanese steakhouse, try Kyoto Sushi & Steak at 135th and Metcalf. Dont waste your time or money on Han Shin.

This restaurant is the best, hands down. I have been going here most of my life and not once have I ever been disappointed. Everything I have eaten is amazing, their preformance is fun, and they treat us like family. I have brought many different people to this steakhouse and every single one haqs fallen in love with the food and staff. I compare every japanese steakhouse to Han Shins and not one has ever compared.

Volcano roll, oh my god. Its like Zeus came down from mount Olympus and struck the fish with a bolt of glorious lightning. Songs will be sung and tales will be told of its magical flavor. But seriously... This place rocks, super friendly staff who care deeply about they food they make. You will not be disappointed if you come here looking to fill up on awesome sushi.

Terrible. Spicy tuna roll was neither spicy nor tuna - the pieces were so tiny and seriously where was the tuna?!? Bento box came with a "salad" that was a couple pieces of wilted lettuce, tempura vegetables with a ridiculously greasy batter that I couldnt even eat it, and miso soup that was just brown dishwater. This is a travesty to all sushi places in this world!

I was in town visiting from NYC, and found this restaurant to be an absolute gem. Very friendly service, delicious food (loved the miso soup and sushi) and excellent value! The lunch special was very inexpensive and more than I could eat. I would definitely go back again and again if I lived in this area!

This is a great place to come for a special occasion, where great food and hibachi grill performances await! The owners are quite lovely as well. Seriously, eat at the hibachi grill. The chefs are talented, funny, and will definitely leave you in awe. (Im not spoiling it; go see for yourself!)

Amazing! I have eaten here 8 or 9 times. Always excellent! Always impeccable service! Enjoy the Tappan style. Delicious. Always get rib eye and shrimp! Sushi is so fresh and delicious! Cant get better than this! I always bring family and friends here. They ways love it! Enjoy!

The guy cooked so fast that some of my veggies were left uncooked and the fried rice is disgusting. They cook everything with ginger sauce and my chicken was cooked with pineapple. The shrimp sauce is also not that very good and neither is their sushi. Very disappointed in their food.

A group of us visited Han Shin for lunch. The staff was quick to seat us, take our orders, and bring out our soup and salad. The chef said it was only his second day on the job, but he did a great job on the food. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Food is fresh and the best in town as far as japanese restaurants go. The waitress is incredibly nice and provides top notch service. Everyone of their sauces are delicious which is why they sell them by the bottle. Again, best Japanese Steakhouse in town.

I do not understand how their sauces are so good! The service was amazing. We sat at the grill, I had the shrimp and scallops, my wife had the steak and we can both easily say that, its the best Japanese Steakhouse in Kansas City.

Great service, great food. We eat there once or twice a month - regularly but not enough to be "regulars". Nevertheless, the staff remembers us and our preferences. They are warm and welcoming, the food is consistently good.

This is probably the worst experience I had in a restaurant. Not too great food- Incorrect bills where the waiter and the OWNER doesnt acknowledge!! There are other Japanese Steak houses in town!
