We had been intending to go to the St Paul for quite a while, and unfortunately, we were disappointed. When we arrived, the hostess was very inconvenienced by having to seat us. She didnt even look at us, and didnt give us time to ask for a gluten free menu (which has many, many options!). Eventually, one of us went up and got it ourselves. Then, our server came and was even more disgruntled at us being there than the hostess! I should note, this was a Monday night and we had a reservation for 7:15 which is not exactly prime-time for dining. Every interaction we had that night with our server from that point on was rushed, terse, and uncomfortable. Especially when she took our appetizer request (which was not prompted by her)...she bustled away from our table at light speed, forcing one of us to chase her down to indicate that we would need the dish gluten free (no, despite the special menus she didnt seem to notice or give us a split second to ask) to which she replied, "Oh, so that means you just want it without the bread then?" which, as someone who has severe reactions to gluten, is a serious red flag. We received our cheese plate (yum) from an attendant and didnt see our server again for about a half an hour. At that point, one of our party went back to the hostess stand to inquire about the safety of eating there with a food allergy, given the server did not seem knowledgeable, or seem to even care. The chef came out to speak with us, and he did an amazing job making us feel comfortable. He was the shining moment of that meal. Seeing the chef at our table apparently reminded our server that we were there. She came, took our empty wine bottle (without asking if wed like anything else! Come on, thats easy money!) and our meal order and sprinted off once again. When she returned with our order, one item was wrong, and all the dishes were just warm - as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. We mentioned the mistake, which upset the server causing her to snap at us, but thought better of mentioning the cool food at that point, it wasnt worth the harassment! As far as menu items, I can highly recommend the Halibut (from the GF menu), but the other diners gave the filet a "so-so" review. Warm cheese plate starter was very enjoyable, too. I cant speak to the wine and bar selection, as we were not given the opportunity to enjoy more than the initial bottle and our waters. TL;DR: Food was good, gluten free options were great, ambiance ok. If youre going to be dropping $400.00 on a meal, I would recommend going somewhere where you wont be made to feel terrible for showing up to eat.

My wife and I went there a few years ago and it was one of the worst experiences weve ever had. The dining room was filled with so many tables that you couldnt walk around, the ambience was nonexistence and there were so many people in their dining room that my wife and I could barely hear each other. Our waitress was condescending and absente. After looking around the dining room I didnt trust the food, so I ordered my over-priced steak to be well done, thus ensuring the least amount of bacteria. When it eventually came my steak was so rare it was barely a light brown on the outside and swimming in a puddle of blood that drenched the rest of my food. It took 20 minutes to get my waitresss attention and when I told her it wasnt well done her response was "you want it more well done?" I had to send it back one more time after that and finally settled for a medium-well steak. One of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had and I never intend to return. Ill eat food from a dumpster before I eat there again.

We arrived with a party for eight for Sunday brunch and was terribly disappointed! Two of the eight had never dined here before so we were embarrassed about our dining outcome. The last time four of us from the same party dined together for brunch here the menu has more items and included complimentary mimosas and orange juice, coffee. Also there was a mixed bread/muffin selection and fresh fruit and a dip none of which came with this meal. The waitress said the brunch price was lower to reflect the difference but we felt like this new menu was too lacking. For a hotel dining experience you would expect much moe especially with a hotel that has such history. We were so let down by this experience and will most likely not return.

Drinks are great, mac n cheese is the best Ive had. I always get the strip steak and it never disappoints. My complaint about this place is the service. It is hit or miss, and when it is a "hit" it is just very good service. I think some of the serves have worked there a LONG time and simply resting on ones laurels. Last time there my guest and I sat at our table for 15 minutes unnoticed. I finally have to go a back up to the front desk to say something. During that whole time a couple different servers went past our table multiple times and never took notice. I enjoy the food too much and the location is convenient for me so I will continue to go back.

Went to the St Paul Grill for my birthday, and it was amazing! everyone was very friendly, and the food as usual was to die for. Our waitress was very kind and helpful and did her best to make sure our experience was great. the only thing I did not like was the valet service. The man in charge ignored us for about 10 minutes, but when someone extremely well dressed came out they were helped right away, and treated like royalty while we were waiting well before him. He was very rude towards us, and unfortunately put a damper on a fabulous night, and took 2 stars off what would have been a 5 star experience

Decided to go there before a wedding reception for some apps. Our waitress was nice and attentive until she found out we were just getting drinks and a few apps, then she didnt really pay any attention to us. Our mojitos were probably the worst Ive had....the cajun shrimp tasted like bricks of charcoal.... quite literally the worst shrimp I have ever had. The cajun beef bites were extremely bland. The french fries were good though. I was looking forward to getting some good food at such a fine looking establishment, but left extremely disappointed

We had dinner at St Paul Grill 3 times in 2 weeks. Food are delicious (especially the scallops!! Pear and strawberry salad are also fantastic!!) and price is reasonable. Desiree King served us in the first 2 visits and she is an initiative, passionate and considerate waitress. She offered us to share the set dinner because we could not eat too much; she also helped us give a birthday surprise to our friend...We love her so much! One star was deducted here because of the poor service in our 3rd visit by another waitress.

Great food, okay service. I went with a group before a wild game, and the wait staff literally said "I hate the crowd the wild games bring in" and while that is completely understandable to me, you should never say something like that, especially in this kind of an establishment (4-5 star restaurant) within hearing distance from your guests. Other than that, Id say it was a wonderful experience, we had escargot for the table, I personally had a seafood scampi and all together, it was fantastic.
