I have to say I have been a Loyal Customer of Lakes Tavern & Grill in fact a rewards customer which brought me in to the Tavern tonight. I received an email offering buy one get one free on burgers and $5 apps. I told the waitress Alexis we were here for the special on the burgers and apps for the 4 of us. I asked her if we needed to go to the bar to take advantage of our coupons. She said,"No, I will honor it in my section". When we got our bill she forgot to have the manager take off our burger coupons and went back to get the manager to take it off. She came back and the bill was still not correct based on the coupons we received. She got the Manager Dan and I showed him our coupon and he said it was for only 1 per table. I pointed out it did not say that on our coupon and Dan said that other customers have said the same thing to him, but management says that is the RULE. I told him we have 2 coupons and are both rewards customers and DAN said he would need to see both of them in order for him to discount our bill. After showing Dan both of the coupons he said he has Never had someone give me such a hard time over $9.00. and that I should be happy that I got the happy hour special on appetizers because I was not sitting in the bar. Dan was RUDE, and had a MAJOR ATTITUDE! If this is a RULE for Lakes Tavern & Grill then please state it on your coupons so EVERYONE is AWARE of it!

I took my sons (ages 8 and 5) and another 5 year old boy. When we walked in, I almost walked right out - it has such a beautiful decor, I was a little afraid it wasnt "family friendly". I am SO glad I decided to stay. 1- Out server was AMAZING! It takes a special waitress to take on 3 little boys! She actually spoke to them, but looked to me to make sure what they said they wanted was OK. She helped me figure out what was the best price for everything!! :-) 2- They bring out these biscuits with this amazing butter (free). The boys couldnt get enough! 3- After the fantastic meals we all had, I asked to thank the chef personally. Turns out he was new, and wasnt there anyway. My boys and I were able to thank the cooks in charge, two men named Manny and Chris (the souix). They are the nicest cooks, and also spoke with the boys. They explained how a kitchen is a team and how they all work together. Its rare for someone not to take all the credit! They also spoke highly of the management, waitstaff, and everyone involved. 4- I also learned they are in the middle of some exciting changes. If youve been there before, and had a bad experience, I would encourage you to return (the previous posts were from December) soon and again and again! Im looking forward to going all the way to Woodbury just to go there again!

have been there many times with my friends after work and have been always happy: aesome appetizers, friendly service and great ambience. So, of course, I decided to take my husband there for our anniversary who has never been. He like the ambience and decor! When the onion rings came, he like them a lot! Fresh and delicious! However, when our food came, my flat iron (beef) was passed its shelf life! Oh my goodness, it was completely unedible and just tasted rotten!!! I was so afraid to get sick just with that one bite! My husbands fish tacos that were highly recommended by our friendly waitress, were terrible. The pineapple in the salsa was old, the tortillas were out of the fridge and the shrimp (three very tiny ones in each tortilla) were not fresh!! And then we got the tiramisu, big mistake! It was just a terrible, terrible meal!! Needless to say, we wont be back there for the restaurant side. I will just stick to the happy hour!

My husband and I went out for a date night on March 15th. Based on what I saw on the website, I was very excited. The atmosphere is great, however, the food was marginal at best. I ordered the Tavern Flatbread and it was soggy, not crispy like flatbread shoudl be. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballas and the noodles were chewy and on the hard side (not al dente). We enjoy restaurants taht dont make you feel rushed. Our waiter was nice enough, but we barely got our drink, then our rolls came, 1 min later our salad and literally, we took the first bite of our salad and he was pushing our salad plates over to make room for the entrees. I felt very rushed, not a very relaxing evening. We will give it another shot at some point, maybe it was an off night..but not impressed.

Stopped by for the first time on a Sunday afternoon to watch some NFL games and have a beer. Was immediately greeted and sat at a high-table with clear views to no less than 6 LARGE TVs! Love the atmosphere and our waiter was other-worldly. Very attentive and talked us into some of their appetizer specials. Cheesecurds were absolutely state fair worthy and the pizzas were delicious! The atmosphere is both inviting and relaxing and their happy hour specials are the best Ive seen in Woodbury in a LOOOONG time. We will be back, for sure! Cant wait to try out their lunch and dinner menu since they hit it out of the park on visit #1...Cheers!

Splendid in its class. I dont mind chains, but it is nice to have an independent available. Interesting menu. I thought my Mexican salad with flank steak had an interesting blend of flavors. My husbands Cajun Jambalya did not taste like a South Dakota hot dish (which are good, too, dont get me wrong) but reminded us of New Orleans. Their made-on-site gingerale was refreshing. Ive never heard of berry tiramisu, but it was a tasty twist on that dessert. Our server was prompt and friendly. I noticed other servers being helpful, too. The atmosphere was a little noisy for my tastes, but not overwhelming. Well be back.

We reserved a spot on a non-busy day. We were seated promptly. The appetizers were ok, The Pasta isnt worth the price and has no taste or flavor. (Noodles does a better job and tastes better). The Alfredo Chicken pasta is miserable. (Olive garden is better) Service was fair. The waiter didnt even check to see if the glasses need to be refilled with water. We found a piece of bacon in the food despite our request to avoid Pork. Considering it feels like Bostons, the restaurant that used to be here, the environment isnt unique. With food quality like this, we wont be back! Vegans find another spot !!!.

I have eaten at Lakes Tavern several times. Typically there is no waiting for a table. Service is hit or miss. Food is generally poor. I used to be able to get a decent sandwich there but stayed away from the entrees. Lately even the sandwiches have been disappointing and the other dishes Ive tried failed to distinguish themselves. Most recently two people in our party were unable to eat their food because it was over-salted to the point of being inedible. The waiter took the two dishes off the bill but offered no olive branch and the two diners had to go away hungry.
