I have worked near Grandview Grill for 15 plus years. We rarely go in because the service is so poor. When groupon came out with a Grandview Grill coupon, I decided to give it a shot again. I called to order for pick up. The person hung up on me. I called again and left my order. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told I could not use the groupon. This was not in the fine print. We went back and forth and the person finally decided to ring it up as if I ate there. Part of my order consisted of a shake. The people eating in the restaurant had a big glass plus the stainless steel container it was made in. I received a small coffee cup for the same price. This is just after I was telling my boss that this business has changed. I think I will stick with the local businesses who like other businesses to stop by. I am usually not a negative person. So, the burger was good.

Nothing special - just another overpriced Grand Ave. restaurant. The restaurant is fairly clean, but the decor bordered on the tacky side - I think a good tacky. I went for Sunday lunch and the restaurant was full. Despite being full there were so many staff members that they didnt know what to do and most found themselves standing behind the counter while only a few did the work. In order to support such a large payroll the prices are a bit more expensive than what Im used to paying. This would be acceptable if the food was above average, but it was not. My eggs were small and I left still feeling hungry despite paying more than I would have elsewhere. For a better value I will be going elsewhere in the future.

I just had my first experience with the Grandview Grill. It was a pleasant time there with pretty decent food and absolutely fantastic waitstaff. Everyone was very friendly except that nasty little lady that works in the kitchen. I saw her poke her bitter face out and micromanage the waitstaff more than once and it made me uncomfortable to watch. I used to waitress and would absolutely hate to work with a woman like her. She ruined the atmosphere in the whole place by taking down the waitstaff morale. Also food took quite a while to come out of the kitchen and didnt look great but it tasted good. The place would be better if you we didnt have to look at that ugly mug while trying to eat breakfast.

At first glance I thought the prices were a little high. I couldn’t find the classic two eggs, toast and breakfast meats on the menu and to order it would have cost a couple of bucks more than the eggs, pancakes and meats. I only received two sausages, where was the standard third sausage? Rick ordered eggs, hash browns and toast and only received one piece of toast. Joe ordered a ham and cheese omelet and received bacon and cheese omelet instead that look like it had be in a street fight. The second cup of coffee was hard to get. Also the wait staff was as dull as their black uniforms. Definitely never again!!

We were ignored for about 5 minutes until I waved at a waiter. The waiters then huddled together trying to see who would wait on us. Finally got waited on by one of the 4 waiters, all of whom seemed not happy to be there. Our food was sitting on the shelf for at least 5 minutes. Other waiters stopped to look at our food, then walked away, because it wasnt their table. Not one smile. Sorry we came here and will never again. Food was fine, but not worth the treatment.

I would comment on the food, but WE NEVER GOT ANY. Went before a movie thinking 40 minutes would be plenty of time, but after almost 20 minutes, we hadnt even be asked what wed like to order. All of this while five or six different workers sat around and talked and other tables were waited on while we sat and waited. Would not go back again. There are far better places in the area with great service/food. Why settle for lazy workers.

Took 5 minutes just to get a menu while all the staff was just looking at us finally got a menu and after the nothing we sat there for 20 Mins while the staff got other peoples order that came in way after us. We are in the service industry and this is some of the worst service we have ever got. Wanted to try the food looked amazing hard to do when you dont get served though. To bad we finally just left with out any food.

I have breakfast here occasionally and the service has almost always been excellent. My favorite dish is the blackened catfish breakfast, which is accompanied by hash browns and eggs. There are some "lighter" selections as well. The price is reasonable, given the quality and quantity of the meals. It is worth a visit if you are looking for good, no-frills diner food thats much better than Dennys.

NO STARS!!!!! I ATE HERE ONE EVENING AND ONE AFTERNOON. THE SECOND TIME, I WAS SERVED BY A RACIST ASIAN MAN WHO DIDNT LIKE THAT A BLACK MAN WAS SPEAKING TO AN ASIAN WOMAN THAT CAME INTO THE DINER, ALSO. THIS VERY THIN, SHORT ASIAN MAN INSULTED ME AND MADE A SCENE WITH HIS IRATE RANT. THIS WAS THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!

The food tasted amazing! The service was great! But my coworker and I suffered from the runs after eating there... I kinda wished he pointed out how he watched several people go to the bathroom after paying sooner... Maybe it was just a fluke of a day or coincidence.... But Im personally not going to risk it by going back.

My go-to early morning breakfast place for before work, as it opens at 6:30 am. The breakfast food is really excellent, although there are limited healthier options. The coffee is TERRIBLE, so I recommend you get juice or add creamer. But the food is delicious and the servers pleasant :) Limited parking in the lot.

Corned beef hash special was nothin special at all - barely any corned beef. When I complained, the waitress said "yea that is wimpy" but she came back and told me that it was the right amount of corned beef. They should change the name of the dish to "wimpy corned beef: barely any corned beef for $10.50".

Classic diner serving breakfast and lunch. Recommend the biscuits and gravy. Rich, white gravy that doesnt skimp on the sausage. Biscuits are big and buttery and the hashbrowns grilled to perfection. Order with soft poached eggs. Belly up to the counter for the classic diner experience.

I love the Grandview Grille. My family and I go there often, for breakfast or lunch. My favorite is the cajun breakfast. Burgers are awesome, too. The staff is terrific, service has always been good, and Ill guess weve been there over 50 times.

Every time I am in St. Paul I eat here at least once. It does not matter what Im in the city for, I always make time for the Grandview Grill and their breakfast. A must try for anyone nearby looking for some good food, correction, great food.
