A week ago, I was having a rotten day, and decided that - especially being in that neighborhood - Pho would a long way to helping me chill out. I went and ordered lunch to go - Ive never been there at lunch, just dinner, didnt recognize the server - and a can of soda. I waited for my meal and left - not noticing that I was dumb enough to have forgotten my soda on the bench I was waiting on. I was already on the highway at this point, so didnt bother to go back. Flash forward to tonight. My husband and I were both feeling kinda blah, so went for Pho. I dont know what they put in theirs, but I swear its a magical cure all. If Im crabby, hes down for any reason.. any kind of stomach upset, or even if we have cold/flu. Amazing stuff. Anyway, it was definitely called for tonight. So we show up, and were only sitting for a minute or two, when the owner came out with a soda. The same type (Sprite) that Id ordered A WHOLE FREAKING WEEK AGO. She laughed and asked me if I forgot something. What a memory - and what service. Holy crap. I shouldnt be totally surprised, because every single time weve been in there, the service is great. Its not a fancy restaurant, but its really warm and friendly. The food is amazing, and really cheap. Anyway, after a particularly bad experience when we tried to find a substitute for them when we were craving Vietnamese on the one day a week that theyre closed (this was about two weeks ago), the STARK contrast in service just really highlighted to us how much we love this place. No one I know has ever heard of them. We only found them when we went hunting for a "little hole in the wall" Vietnamese restaurant by driving up the streets a few years back. Theyre just so sweet and the food is so freaking amazing! I like the B4 (curried beef on vietnamese noodle salad), my husband loves the seafood pho. (PH11). PS: They are closed Tuesdays. We found this out the hard way. We wont be trying to find substitutes again. LOL!

I got a good impression from my first visit. Food and the service is all good. On my second visit, the owner recognized me and we chatted a bit and gave me an even better experience with his personalble attitude. It was after that I noticed my bill was more than I had expected. I asked to see the menu to make sure I didnt misread it, he then told me "oh thats the old menu, we have the new price on the new menu now" I asked him well did you give me the new menu? He said no I gave you the old one. So I said well then Id expect to pay for the prices on what you show me. He then finally decided to give me the difference back. At the same time I also noticed the wings I ordered offered 3 or 10 pieces ( which I would have been really satisfied with just 3) he never made that cleared to me ( this other lady who works there told me about it but just assumed that I wanted 10 pieces) Id say the food is good but they are not honest. I dont feel comfortable going there again. Not to mention now Im wondering if I paid the "new price" or the "old price" on my first visit... Be careful people!

As an American, I am not too skilled in discerning what is truly "authentic" ethnic cuisine, but I can tell you whats good, and this is excellent! My wife and I have eaten here many times, weve always had a great experience. The service has always been fast and friendly, weve even had lengthy conversations with the owners at times when its not busy. I dont know what it is, but their Pho always makes me feel better. Whether Im actually feeling ill or just having a bad day, a nice hot bowl of their seafood Pho always hits the spot and puts a smile on my face. We found out the hard way that they are closed on Tuesdays, and were forced to find another asian restaurant. We had a very poor experience there, which made us appreciate Vietnam House even more! I cant say enough good about it. Try it, you have nothing to lose. There are plenty of low-cost meal options if youre trying to save.

Finding pho outside Minneapolis or St. Paul was sometimes hit or miss for us, but this place was close to our new home and we had to give it a shot. Oh. My. God. This is easily my favorite pho place, hands down. Fantastic broth on every one Ive tried so far, fresh garnishes, and great sizes. Everyone there is super friendly, and very accommodating of our two year old son. The non-pho foods, noodle salads, appetizers, and meats are very very good, so exploring the menu is absolutely recommended. Only potential knock is that there isnt a vegetarian pho option on the menu, but still plenty of food for those who dont eat meat.

Okay, since I have started eating Pho, I have tried many places. Vietnam House is the 3rd place I tried and many more have followed. To this day I still use Vietnam Houses Pho as my gold standard to judge all other Pho. Some have come close, some fail on an epic scale. This one served here gets kudos for consistency and taste. My only wish is for some cilantro, and sometimes it seems like I dont get as much of the garnishes as some of the asian clientele. If you are a Pho fan and want to get Pho-cked up, hit up Vietnam House!! :D

Was not impressed! Service was not good- had three different waiters, so never really knew which one was our actual waiter. Service was incredibly slow. Food was not good. The restaurant was filthy!! There was dried food on the walls and on the salt and pepper shakers. I was so disgusted I could hardly eat. The carpet was covered in food crumbs and the whole place had a bad smell. Made me wonder what it was like in the kitchen. If I could rate a zero on here, that would be my choice. I do not suggest. Never will be returning!

Ive eaten here maybe 15 times over the past few years. Excellent food every single time. The pho tai (my usual) is delicious. So is the bun bo hue (I get it with the flank steak). Ive had a few of the stir fry dishes, Ive been satisfied with all of them. Egg and spring rolls are great too. If youre looking for a Vietnamese restaurant with delicious food, and fast & friendly service, youve found it! They also serve boba tea from the Tea Garden in the summer...

Great food and very affordable. Smaller and tighter seating. Basically back to back seating, which is a little weird because it felt like the person behind was speaking directly into my ears. Floor is very dirty. Overall look is a little outdated. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great place for Pho! Broth is not too sweet and not too salty. For sure one of the better place for Pho in the Twin Cities.

Besides the Pho which was ok I was not impressed with some other dishes I had there. Portions are small compared to other places. There was nothing there that was god awful but nothing exceptional either. Depending on ur own personal taste this may not be a bad place to try. Only one way to find out if its good, try it out urself. Just dont go there w high expectations n u might b pleasantly surprised.
