I have been going to this restaurant now for over 20 years. It is that place I go to when Im hungry, and want some Vietnamese food. The atmosphere is nothing to brag about, but it is comfortable (better than most on par Chinese restaurants for sure!). The staff is great. The food is tasty and definitely plentiful (I usually take home my lunch for the next day in a doggy bag). Up until now they have had at least 20 vegetarian items on the menu, although the menu now seems to have changed. Prices are a little higher than over the last 20 years too now. Im withholding judgement on the change in the menu for now. Beer selection is very limited (only Heinekin for imported beer). All in all I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are hungry!

This is my favorite restaurant in the twin cities. I try to make it here at least once a week. Ive tried just about everything on the menu, but I always end up getting the same thing. Hot & Spicy Chicken with no onions, with an order of imperial egg rolls and lots of fish sauce. I put the fish sauch on the chicken as well as the egg rolls. Ive never tasted anything so delicious, I cant help but shovel it down, my wife often tells me to slow down so I can enjoy it. I live in Eden Prairie, and I travel all across the country for work, that should give you an idea of how much I like this place. Oh, and before I forget, the staff are always Awesome!! My favorite weighter Tommy just recently left and started his own store, I wish him much success!

While we usually have good things to say about Kinhdo, we just had an experience that will keep us from ever returning. We are both vegetarian and ordered two mock duck dishes to share. The golden mock duck curry came as promised, but the mock duck with potatoes came sans mock duck, but with beef instead. When we realized the what we were eating we called back and was met with doubt about their error. When we offered to bring the dish back in (it was take-out) she declined to have us do this but was still wary about the claim. We were extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service, and we both will be experiencing some stomach cramps in about a half an hour. We both ate there on a regular basis and will not again.

Very good! The other reviews below were very helpful (so thank you!). I ordered take-out and am just now trying the (chicken) fried rice - which is indeed unusually good. Very nice and accomodating staff too; I said that I was trying to decide between chicken vs. vegetable Pad Tai, I mentioned that I like veggies more than meat, but was still in the mood for meat, so they said theyd add extra veggies and reduce the amount of chicken. The result... one happy customer and tastey food! She even gave me some recommendations to try for next visit too. I will definitely go back soon :-)

I could be convinced that this is a 3.5 star place, but not much more than that. With all the good ratings, I thought this would be a gem. The food is a bit better than mediocre. I ordered the vermicelli noodle and pork eggroll. The eggroll was not the traditional wrap skin, but it was good. What the bun lacked was the mixture of mint, cilantro, vibrant fresh lettuce, bean sprouts, and other chefs choice herbs to give the dish its mixture of flavors. The lettuce used looked like those inside a big mac. I did not come for a big mac.

I tried this place once, and will never go back. I ordered a chicken stir fry, with lots of veggies. Veggies were soggy and the chicken was so slimy that I couldnt take more than 2 bites! There are many better Asian restaurants in the area, so dont go here. Trust me, I walked in thinking "oh, just a casual Chinese/Vietnamese take out time of place", and wasnt expecting anything fancy, just some standard stir fry. But this was not even edible.

Very tasty food at reasonable prices, especially at lunch. I was given wrong order once for takeout, I brought it home and just as I was getting my phone out to call them the man at the front desk was calling me! Had the right order ready for me right away, and even personally double checked it the next time I ordered without me even asking for that. I like this place a lot and will miss living so close to it.

This was my first experience with my girlfriends and I quickly realized why one of them frequents this place so often. The staff is very friendly, every entree we ordered was mouthwateringly delicious and the atmosphere is very chill and comfortable. If you like Asian or Vietnamese cuisine, I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you are on a budget. My entree recommendation: Beef and Potatoes

Kinhdo is a restaurant that I keep going back to for their solid food which has been delivered to the table with consistency every time that I have gone for just short of twenty years. I am a huge fan of their egg-drop soup and cant say that I have ever tried a meal that wasnt good. If you are in the area make sure that you stop in for a bite.

This is the best food in uptown, second best place is Uptown Diner. The potato beef is in a world of its own, I also recommend the lemongrass beef. Kinhdo is a little on the pricey side. They used to have a location in New Hope but that closed years ago. I wish they had another location somewhere in the west Burbs.

Yes, the egg rolls are fantastic! But the reason I go to Kinhdo is for the Beef w/Potatos. You get a heaping mound of sauteed beef and thinly sliced potatos covered in a delicious sauce. If youre looking to try something different, order a green tea with tapioca (sp?) pearls. Their coffee is pretty good too.

Lemon chicken lunch special was especially not special. It was just doughy chicken nuggets with sweet lemon goo. My wifes tofu vegetable lunch included brown goo. I can understand people liking this as a junk food alternative but the rating is way to high.

The hot and spicy mock duck is amazing! I pay extra to add broccoli and potatoes, and its worth every penny. Ive been going here for years and havent found anywhere that compares. Their portions are huge and definitely shareable. ❤️❤️❤️

Other reviews of this place are right. After seeing so many good things about the beef and potatoes, I had to try it for myself. It really is good. Also fell in love with their chicken Pad Thai.
