We have been there twice and the second time was really a challenge. The service was really, really bad. The waitress, while nice, just didnt have multi-tasking skills. We werent given menus, we didnt get our drinks, and when I asked the bartender to refill my water glass, he actually rolled his eyes. And I really hate to write this part, but there were SO many flies in the front window, we spent our entire meal swatting and waving them away from our food. No one who worked there seemed to care or notice - maybe because they were all at the back bar having a good time checking their phones and chatting with who I gathered was the manager - she didnt seem to care either. While we were there, we also witnessed the frustration of other customers who seemed to be experiencing the same things we were. That said; our pancake was fantastic, and the rest of our food was excellent - it just creeped me out to think that with the excess of flies in the dining room - what was the kitchen like? I hope they can sort out their personnel problems and get a fly swatter!!

I think the breakfast food is better than the dinner food. Not that the dinner is bad; I just think the breakfast has more of an oomph to it. The appearance as a warming and good neighborhood to it. Its cozy and community-welcoming. The only downside to it is that it feels a little claustrophobic. I think that this restaurant works better with small groups instead of big groups. Otherwise, it feel a little jam packed because of the lack of space. My advice is to go there with one or two people, no more than that. Youll do fine. The food is fantastic, and it was everything that I requested from the waitress. The wait time can sometimes be a tad longer than expected, but that isnt always a bad thing. This is a delightful place a for a good breakfast or lunch. The waitresses are always friendly. I love being around them. They listen to what they want, and theyre perfect with their "please" and their "thank you" manners. This place won me over. Ill be back.

When I walked up to the restaurant I was excited because of the charm as well as the amazing aromas, however I was disappointed by the overall experience. Since I was a party of 1, I sat at the bar and the person manning the station was beyond overwhelmed and made sure to tell every employee that came to him how overwhelmed he was. He only had 3 groups of people that he was serving. Even if he was overwhelmed he shouldnt be complaining about it where customers can hear. Whenever he said something to me I could not understand what he was saying. That probably is because his back was turned to me whenever he spoke. The food came out in 5 minutes so I assumed it would be warm, however my hashbrowns and bacon were cold. Paying $5 for a side of bacon Id expect it to be warm. Id love to try Tiny Diner again because there is so much charm to the building but I wouldnt sit in the bar if he was there.

Best way for me to describe this is to say it is Minneapolis first Portland bar. (note... there may be others like this but this is the first one Ive been to) Food was very good. Friend said it was the best burger shes had in the cities and shes gone back on her own just for that. Might be a stretch but suffice it to say it was good. Menu changes frequently which is great and I really like the idea of the casual dining mixed with a bar to have a beer in a nice indoor or comfortable outdoor setting. The locally sourced ingredients is certainly center stage to what they have going on. Location is still a work in progress but so far I really like what they have done and they have potential for even better things to come. Will absolutely eat their again.

You know, the food is acceptable to below average. They certainly get points for trying and being creative. The highlight of the meal was a properly prepared lavander mimosa, which was perfectly balanced. Without that, I would have left two stars. I sampled a few things but got a biscuits and gravy main. I watched excitedly as they brought a grand looking biscuit to another table. But when mine showed up, I dont know... it mustve been gravy and grits cakes? And after tasting it, I wasnt sure that the recipe architect ever had real biscuits and gravy. Its trendy. If youre a basic foodie, then youll probably love this place. The food was just nothing spectacular.

Just about the friendliest people around. I came in late in the evening, within an hour of closing and nobody batted an eye. After settling in at the bar, my bartender Noah set me up with a crisp local brew and the substantial Macro Bowl. The food was well balanced and no component was overshadowed by another—I havent had wakame as salad greens but it worked. After Id tucked in, and as the Diner crew were easing the place down for the night, a few others introduced themselves. They gave me some great advice for exploring the neighborhood and generally made me feel welcome. Ill be back soon!

Obviously the food would make or break a restaurant, and the food here makes it. I also love many of the decisions theyve made for creating clean energy by the use of solar panels that the patio is set under, that the water from a water glass not left empty when the customers leave is added to the garden of plants right there. Each piece of fruit was ripe and sweet, the maple syrup local and bursting with personality. The wait staff was very patient even with my kids were stir crazy from our room trip. A great breakfast choice.

Talking the talk and walking the walk when it comes to sustainability, with solar panels, rooftop beekeeping (not near dining, nor noticeable), herb garden with cool woven stick hut you can walk through. The food and the people are not pretentious though. Quality ingredients and creativity go into the menu. They feature (monthly?) cities local cuisine for several menu items, giving diners a chance to taste popular dishes from around the country. Very cool place with a good concept, environment and food.

I really loved this darling spot with delicious items! We loved the Grateful Bowl as well as the Walnut Spinach Burger. The peanut butter chocolate shake was delicious, of course. Generally it was just a great experience. I was impressed with their beer menu as well and had a couple yummy beers. You cant go wrong with anything here, honestly. They deliver a delectable dish. Go for it. It seemed like a hidden gem to me, enjoy. Also, worth the rideshare to a very neighborhoody former gas station delight.

Ive eaten here several times in the last three or four months and have never been disappointed. The food is well-cooked, fresh, with great flavor, and served in just-right portions. Prepare for a little bit of a wait during brunch and busy weekend times. The outside seating under solar panels and surrounded by gardens growing some of the raw ingredients of the restaurant provide a lovely setting for casual breakfast, lunch, dinner, or brunch.
