When you think "Classic American Diner" this place is what should come to mind. Before I list all the reasons why I gave 5 stars, let me start by expressing my disappointment with the "large" juice. My water came out in a LARGE cup. My large orange juice came out in a considerably smaller cup. I would hate to see how big the small was. Come on guys.... this may be diner standard but... if you want to be grouped in with the rest, do what the rest do, that was a little disappointing. Other than that. Who wouldve thought, a Chicken Parmesan Omelette? There were so many choices on the menu JUST FOR BREAKFAST that Ive decided to come back tomorrow to try something else! But I venture to say this is one of the places where pretty much everything on the menu is tasty. And my goodness... that waffle! Wow. I recommend. Your favorite big fat, foodie/author, recommends! Good service as well.

Welcome to the quintessential American diner experience. The Diner has an expansive menu, friendly staff, more cardboard stand-ups of famous people than any other restaurant, guaranteed, low prices and good food. The chicken fried steak is a must for those who enjoy a fried entree and they serve an excellent breakfast all day long thats worth a try too. If youre just looking for something sweet, theyve got you covered with an assortment of desserts, especially pies. Seriously, you have to respect a place with a "Yes, we have grits" sign (pictured) hanging from the ceiling, right? I lunch with a group of people who enjoy quality food this is the least likely place Id expect to see us, but we are here at least once a week.

First time here, food and service were both very good. Old time diner feel. My husband and I both really enjoyed dinner, I got chicken fried steak, he got a chili burger. With that being said, we were very disappointed by dessert. I got a strawberry cake, it was dried out and had the consistency of the cornbread, which was good, for cornbread. My husband had the chocolate silk pie, the chocolate was bitter, not a sweet milk chocolate. We will probably go back, but not for dessert.

A greasy spoon with extra grease on the side. The vegetables are canned as well as the fruit options, nothing is fresh. Been here a couple of times and service can be inconsistent. The décor is fun and eclectic it reminds me of a classic diner from the 50s meets the 80s, just wish the service was consistent too. Overall this place is okay and the food isnt great, its closer to a fast food quality than home cooked. You can tell that even the fries were bought in the freezer isle.

Classic southern style diner with more pie choices than what I know what to do with. The roll and cornbread were some of the best Ive ever had so far. Went right at noon for lunch and the staff was nice and attentive. Got the meatloaf blue plate and it was exactly what I wanted. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you look for in a classic diner. Id probably be back if I lived close enough. (Im visiting from out of town)

I had gone to this restaurant when it was under different ownership in the past and was looking forward to stopping in when I was in the neighborhood. The service was good and the food tasted good, but when I started looking around and saw how dirty this restaurant is I was horrified. The place is filthy and I can only imagine what the kitchen must look like. I wont go back.

Its hard to find an atmosphere like this one, which is why I really enjoy visiting. The full menu is available all day and you can mix and match to your hearts content without breaking the bank. The hearty portions and familiar faces will have me coming back for years to come! Great catfish, both fried and blackened, and the omelets really hit the spot on Saturday mornings.

This place is friendly and the staff is awesome! The facility is showing its age and could use a little updating but thats sort of what makes this place comfortable. Food is fair and the pricing is fair but you get what you pay for. The last reviewer was disappointed with the ribeye but just realize you arent at a fancy steak house, youre at a diner!

Went for dinner and was sorely disappointed. I shouldve known better than to get the ribeye. Ordered medium and it was well done and full of gristle. Wife had the open faced turkey sandwich and it was okay. Apple pie with ice cream was meh. Probably wont go back for dinner. Maybe the higher ratings are for the breakfast menu?

We went to eat breakfast Friday morning at 9:00 on 7/21. This is a restaurant that serves breakfast all day. We got our drinks and then gave our order to the server, who said "Im sorry but we are out of biscuits". What how does a restaurant that serves breakfast all day Run out of biscuits. It was very disappointing.

Home cooking, home baked pies, staff very friendly, great down home breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Very casual. Staff know lots of regular customers; everyone happy, talking, polite, and can still be alone and read your paper, watch news on overhead tv, sit in booths or counter, or at table. And be served.

Food was really good and portion size was great. Good pricing too. Got an 8 oz steak, eggs, hash browns, and 3 biscuits and gravy for $10 (meal in picture). Couldnt even finish it. Staff was full of nice people, very friendly. Atmosphere is really cool too. Cozy with an old diner vibe. Very fitting.

The food was really good! I ordered a chef salad and my dad got this ginormous double bacon cheeseburger! They do not skimp on the salad toppings. I also tried their chocolate cream pie. I would go back just to pick of dessert! :) The building is old and outdated but the food makes up for it.

Nice... My parents love it here... They always get the fried catfish plate... So I tried it so good crunchy and fresh... Just wished it was served with two pieces vs. 1 piece. Kids menu was larger. Over good and family friendly...kids took pic with Elvira poster and Elvis.. Come check it out.

NOT CLOSED Normas is now The Diner of Dallas! This is your old-school cafe/diner. The diner, food & service are CLASSIC! Great value. We bring out-of-town family and guests, as well as use this as a jumping-off point for trips to the fair or museums, road trips and motorcycle rides.

I used to come here all the time before I moved, but it was our favorite breakfast place. Melissa (along with everyone else) is very sweet, and it gives off a old time vibe. I have NO complaints, and highly recommend this cute diner. Try the chicken fried steak!!

Amazing place. I went there today for the first time with my Dad (who has been there several times) between calls... We didnt even finish buttering the cornbread before our food was out. It was delicious and the service was great! We will definitely be back.

I have eaten here for years (formally called Normas) and have always been glad I stopped! The food is always fresh, hot & tasty. The service is super friendly, fast and continuous. You cannot go wrong eating here anytime of the day or night!
