First time I went I hated it 1. the plates are dirty and have spots on them 2. The noodles are mushy and overcooked and the brand of the noodles are of poor quality. 3. the raw shrimp is tiny- The first time I was disgusted my spots on the plates that was the instant disgusting and turn-off My family wanted to go again lately and I told them i hate that place its dirty and the food is crap but the asked me to come again and here was the second time. 1. plates still dirty and have spots 2. Did not even bother to try and of the trash noodles or cooked shrimp I decided instead to try the so called fresh grill, okay I put some noodles that is already cooked and looks over cooked and mushy but not seasoned- you are to add your own spices and have the guy toss it for you, so I add my noodles and shrimp and try to season it with the spices shrimp needs lemon to be cooked with but thats not a big deal the issue was the guy who did it for me was not nice to me, he kept my dish last for some reason and left briefly to show a man where the rice was and I saw him eating from a used plate on his way back which was really a turn off and disgusting, but I let that pass even and when he comes back my noodles has already overcooked either that or they were out too long on the buffet table because they were stail or gross so it ruined my mood from the onset. I try again and see if we can get it right the second time I added a lot of spice to give it taste and the man who grills it left mine last for some reason and served others quickly I felt as though he did it on purpose and it was BLACK - part of the reason might be my fault since adding hot spices can burn food quickly but if he tossed it instead of just leaving it and serving others it would not have burned! I give it one last try and this time i try the chicken the raw chicken is NOT at a stable cool temp its becoming gooey that means the cooling rack is not cold enough which is a health hazard!!! I still decided to try it hoping he would cook it well so there would be no health risks and I spice it up nicely and the shrimp as well and again the man at the grill seemed to have something against me he left me last and was very kind to everyone else but with me very rude and when he gave me my plate the second time and third time no kindness at all and gave it to me harshly, what was really insulting was when he came to my chicken he threw it on the grill and made jokes in spanish every-time it was my turn and was not friendly. I server lady who is white lady was not friendly either and latter we had a asian server and she was also not friendly, some are very nice this one not so much she kept waiting for us and I only went 3 times and my plate was not full at all I looked at other people plate it was full to the max so I felt they treated me and my friend not so nice and she kept standing and she said the few shrimps left they were like five or so that was left over from my friend she said you cant throw away it will counter as dinner or something so i was forced to have my friend put his left over cold shrimp om my plate and that happened twice since they charge you if you throw away food. The restaurant business is extremely hard and stressful and I worked in it as a food server and griller and cashier and cook and I know how hard and stressful it is but I was kind and I accept a descent experience when I pay more then most other buffets charge. I would not recommend this place unless they get themselves together. What needs to be done: 1. clean the plates properly 2. hire friendly waiters 3. fire the guy who is on the grill or tell him to get his act together 4. get better quality noodles 5. get better bigger shrimp 6. tell waiters not to expect a tip and stand waiting for one, I mean your already getting paid and your food sucks why should I tip? Sorry for being so harsh but this is the truth.

I took 3 people here to celebrate moving into a new apartment. Id been to Teppanyaki a few times before, and the food quality had been stuck in a downward spiral, but I think Im a generous man, not above a third chance, although the last time I was around, I dropped a few HP. The waitresses were evidently very snide, but I couldnt tell what was being said because it was in Chinese, although there was more than one laugh while they were yelling across the rows, pointing at the expired chocolate milk theyd served me while they did. All of the food my entire party "Sampled" was undercooked. The chicken was extremely reddish-pink in the middle, the rice was more like semi-softened Rice Krispies. The most I ended up eating was a piece of the sweet-then-incendiary Black Pepper Chicken, half a piece of hard Sesame chicken, and a few bites of their desserts. The chocolate-coated cream puffs with whipped cream in the middle that I so enjoyed there had been replaced by a substance that my friend & I agreed had a lot of the qualities of Volcanic Rock, light enough to float but hard enough to be, well, a rock. The bill came to roughly $44, and I was feeling chest pain. The sadness I felt for having given this a chance, or the thick grease that covered their chicken, I didnt want to stick around to find out. I offered to buy my 3 friends ice cream elsewhere before they finished so that I could hasten my retreat from depression & arterial clogging. As we went up to pay, I began to describe my experience. The young girl working the cash register, with her glittery-pink worded hoodie, began quickly chittering in Chinese to the aforementioned snide waitress, completely ignoring all but around a minute of my plight, seemingly used to disgruntled customers. Of a (Roughly) $44 bill, I managed to get "Half-off a meal" from the young Chinese girls mile-a-minute run-on English. I had to ask her to start over & go more slowly, and I began to understand what she was saying as "You took too much food, we need money" with the first part being nearly 100% accurate. Half off a $12.95 meal translated into about $5 off in their math. I walked out of Teppanyaki Buffet in Woodbury a sad man, $38 and change gone, realizing that I could have eaten much, much better at Outback Steakhouse, just a little bit farther into Woodbury near the Wal-Mart, for that $5 more.

First I would like to say that my family and I frequent this restaurant and is our go to place to bring family friends. However this evening I brought my family of 5 to eat about 7:30 pm and after eating, our server, brought the bill and stood at the table until I signed. I asked her to wait to take the signed credit card receipt until I returned from the restroom so I could calculate the tip into the total. When I returned I decided I was going to leave a cash tip Instead of paying the tip with my card so I wrote 0.00 on the tip line and proceed to finish my drink. The waitress walked over from the empty table behind us where she was waiting and looked at the receipt. She told me I had to pay a tip of at least the 12% SUGGESTED amount. She then looked over to my eldest daughter and said "are you paying me a cash tip?". I was furious that my server even suggested that a tip was not an option and looked to my children for the tip after I just paid over $70. I have NEVER ate in a restaurant and not tipped my server even in a restaurant that was not full service. As my server the stood at the empty table behind us and proceeded to comment to another worker that I did not put a tip on the receipt, I got up and went to the front desk to speak to the manager and my server soon followed behind me. After speaking to the manager she supported the server saying that customers sometimes write a tip but dont sign. I explained that I signed but wrote 0.00 for the tip because I was going to pay the tip in cash (which as a I have worked as a waitress in the past know that tips are not always received). In the end I ended up leaving very upset and left a much smaller tip then what I originally was going to give her (even though she only brought me a lemonade). Unfortunately, this type of service has made it so my family and friends will never return. Upset family of 5 and former long time customers.
