I have ordered from Darbar India a couple of times while at work. I got the Chicken Makhani (butter chicken) with rice and naan. This is my usual favorite dish at any Indian restaurant. The Chicken Makhani is delicious... The quality of this dish compare to other Indian place is superior than most. At least at Darbar, it does not taste like Chicken Tikka Masla... which it does at most places. My first order with Darbar came through fine, except I received notification that they were running late. My second order was a little disappointing. I received only half a naan when I paid for a whole naan. I dont know if Ill hold a grudge for that... I may try them again and if Im still getting just half a naan Ill probably stop ordering from them. Other than that... my food was good.

Definitely "Minnesota Spicy". A hot Rogan Josh dish was like a mild at my current favorite Indian place in the TC Metro (Ghandi Mahal). The rice was very plain, no extra herbs or seasonings like I often expect, but it was cooked perfectly and had a nice, buttery flavor. Very good food overall. I ordered take-out, so no idea about the service, but the people seemed friendly and the atmosphere while I was there looked really "up-scale." Will go back again, at least for take-out. Its close enough to the parking ramp at Calhoun Square that you can park there easily and walk a block to eat.

Three drinks, with Smirnoff cost $24 and based on the extra small low ball glass they were served in, it was literally a shot with the mixer I asked for. Smirnoff should not cost that much... ever, considering you can purchase a bottle for around $15. The manager, because we were a larger group, was on hand and I could tell he was watching our table to make sure everything was going well, however, he didnt offer any help nor did he smile so initially it felt as though he was trying to hurry us out. The food was alright. They seem to cater to the Minnesota palate of "spicy".

If you want delicious food, please make sure you go here. My co worker hasnt had much Indian food in the past, however he and his gf loved the food/dessert. Their curries are delicious, garlic naan is always a must. Roghan Josh is a recommended item to have. I was also very impressed by their desserts, they had kheer and puree and gulab jamun (no idea how to spell those btw) Service was 4/5 however she was really nice. The atmosphere is also really nice for an Indian Restaurant. We will definitely be back

In for a quick lunch, and it was definitely worth it! Butter chicken and mushroom masala both ordered spicy, with some lamb naan. Our server was very cordial and prompt. Definitely nothing lacking there. The food was very flavorful and aromatic. The naan was earthy and had some good crust to it. The portions for a lunch were quite large. Id think that this was likely close to the full dinner portion size. And it was definitely lunch on the cheap! An excellent overall value for a sit down lunch.

I have been getting food from Darbar for a few years now. I decided to go and write a review today because, once again, I received EXCELLENT food from them. Lately, Ive been trying to go through and try most everything vegetarian on their menu and I have yet to not like something! I highly recommend trying Darbar because they have great quality food and they have been consistently excellent all these years. They are also my favorite Indian restaurant in the cities right now.

Delicious, mouthwatering food. We started off with 2 appetizers, got 2 entrees and ended up even ordering another entree to go because it was so delicious! Very reasonably priced-especially on alcohol. Great service and the owner even came up and asked us how our meals were. I have already recommended this place to everyone at my work and definitely plan on attending again! (I dont know what it is called but I got the veggie balls and they are SO. GOOD.)

Had delivery from the Uptown location. The chana masala is wonderful, the dal is great, and the chili pakora (a jalepeno stuffed with a cheese-aloo mixture, battered in chickpea flour, and fried) are delicious. The mint chutney is sweeter than I usually like, but not a deal-breaker. Definitely get some bread -- the roti was so good! Note: Their Bitesquad menu says all the entrees are a la carte, but they do come with Basmati rice.

Amazing Indian cuisine. My only issue is not with the restaurant, but with Bite Squad delivery service. On two, separate occasions, they have taken over an hour to deliver the food. I understand that the food takes a moment to prepare, but once the delivery estimated time increases by an hour, I believe a phone call is in order. Id definitely recommend ordering take-out or dining in, but dont order delivery through Bite Squad.

Dont fall for their restaurant decoration. Food is not fresh and tasty. I ordered vegetable samosas and chicken naan as to-go and turned out the stuffing inside samosa smelled like rotten potatoes, had to threw it all away. I didnt wanted to get sick. When I called them back reporting about it, they didnt even wanted to refund. I wouldnt recommend anyone to this restaurant for their pathetic customer service and rotten foods.

My boyfriend and I tried Darbar for the first time on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was pretty quiet but service was attentive, food came quickly and it was AMAZING. Together we had the chicken korma, lamb vindaloo and a plate of naan. I wouldnt say the servings are massive, but certainly plenty for a meal and nicely priced. All the food was well seasoned and flavourful. We will definitely be back.

Wish there was a rating lower than a 1 star...Dont be fooled by the high ratings. If youre looking for authentic indian, then dont come here!! A sad excuse for indian food. Their biryani is like chinese fried rice. Im offended they even call it biryani. They serve "americanized indian food", makes sense..since more than half their clientel is American - they dont know better..

Best Indian in town. Nice place with a unique style. The food is full of flavor. I love the batura! My girlfriend is Indian and we have tried just about every indian place around and this is the best. The wait staff is good but not great. And I dont know if the indian wine is always bad but this one that they had was really bad. The food is really good though.

Very delicious food especially for the price. We were also very pleased with the service. The server and other staff were extremely attentive to our table. All in our group loved their dishes. I took the servers recommendation for a lamb dish and it was amazing. We ordered the milk balls for dessert and were less than thrilled but I recommend everything else!

I went to this restaurant with my friend and had a horrible experience. It took us half hour to get seated even though there were several empty tables. Another half hour to get our appetizer. When the food arrived, it wasnt that great and too much oily food. I have been to several other indian restaurants. This is the worst one I have ever been. AVOID!!!

Had an excellent Saturday lunch--great service and terrific food. We ordered garlic naan, alu gobi, and lamb biryani. All excellent. We ordered our dishes "spicy" and they were indeed spiced. Not "Minnesota spicy", but with some real spice and just enough of a kick to bring out a little sweat on the forehead, but not overpower the dish. Perfect.
