I will give zero if that is an option. I visited there at least once a week before because I live close to that place. The young man server is nice and friendly but the old lady is always very rude and unfriendly to me. That is alright since the food is OK and most of time was the young man serve for me. Until today, only that old lady was there and clearly she doesnt want to serve for me. She gave me the food menu and left. After 15 minutes she asked me if I am ready. I would like to order beer so I asked for the drink menu. She asked me what I want to drink. I repeated again "Beer. Can I have the drink menu?" Which really surprised me that she was so upset and yelled to me "Wait!" Yes! I am waiting and long enough! I didnt have dinner there and wont visit there anymore. I am not sure if this is her typical way to treat the customer or she just doesnt like me for some reason. But I think it is necessary to let other people know the treatment I got from there. Really rude and awful!

Unlike most Japanese cuisine restaurants, this one has not been Americanized at all. If you are looking for that, go to Benihana. My husband lived next to a Korean family growing up, and he says the food tastes EXACTLY like what hed eat with them, and Im a Japanese cuisine snob, so were pretty well versed in what the food should taste like. At Tomo you can experience genuine Japanese dishes in all of their amazing flavors and spices. This is my and my husbands favorite place to eat when we can splurge on going out. Yes, its moderately priced, but you get what you pay for. No, you dont get Supersize portions; if you want that, go to McDonalds! This place does not cater to fat Americans with skimpy wallets. If you crave healthy, tasty meals in a beautiful setting, and want to EXPERIENCE your food instead of shoving it down your gullet and washing it down with a 64oz. McDrink, then this is the place for you.

Visited shortly after they opened. They did not have liquor license yet and the menu was missing some items. The experience was not great, but attributed it towards being new. I worked in the industry and know how hard it is to open a restaurant. Since then, I have dined quite a few times and have enjoyed every meal and the service has been wonderful. I love Sushi and this is the ONLY local place to get it. As for the review that mentioned "Within minutes of us leaving the establishment, my husband came down with food poisoning." That is absurd... Yes, you may have had something that did not agree with you, but it takes longer than that to come down with food poisoning. And for a restaurant to intentionally serve you bad food is non-sense. I would never serve bad food to even my worst enemy.

I ordered an Udon that was supposed to come with tofu and assorted vegetables. I dont think seaweed and scallions counts as assorted vegetables. What the menu didnt say was that it also came with Imitation Crab... which is fish... not a vegetable and not vegetarian for me. The waitress was nice. She brought me a little plate where I could place the unwanted imitation crab off my plate. Im not a huge complainer and I wouldnt send a plate back for touching fish, but I was disappointed. Maybe I should of made a stink and had it taken off the bill/ gotten something else? On the plus side the agedashi tofu was good if not a little oily.

After the 2nd time this place made me sick, I finally wised up and stopped going there with co-workers for lunch. Let me describe the horror for you... Sometimes it smells like they mop the dining area floor with same mop as they just mopped up urine in the bathrooms with. If you sit near the bathroom you may be smelling urine. The latest sickness resulted from some sushi that had obviously been sitting out for a while, because it was somewhat dried out. I should have known better, but ate it anyway. Bad move. Intestinal disaster resulted. Waitstaff often seems annoyed at your presence Never again, Tomo

Food is decent but worst customer care....reached the restaurant at 9:45 for dinner and their sign said they are open until 10:30. Asked if they are open and the manager said yes, they are. Delivered the check along with the dinner and asked if we could pay ASAP as they need to close the register early. They interrupted our dinner 3 times asking us to pay even when we had 20 minutes before their closing time. We mentioned we were not very happy with the way they treated us and the ladies said they do it all the time..oh well..never to that place again.

Glad that a sushi place opened up near my office, but disappointed that they charge so much for getting so little. It is worth the price if you are really craving the food, but honestly, there are so many other places in Ann Arbor and Canton that offer better sushi, and for less money. Overall, nothing special, but not bad. Service isnt bad, but nothing to be wowed over either. Me recommendations: the Tomo Roll is great, for value and taste. I dont recommend the Ika Ring or Calamari things they have because you pay too much for getting a few pieces.

Service was great, the manager came by and even chatted with us for a bit. I have eaten at A LOT of sushi joints across the US and this place is great. My favorite is in Royal Oak, but this place is close to home and the prices are pretty good. Going there tonight again for the third time and will post again if its any different. Waitress was very helpful in giving us recommendations on their house specials which were pretty inventive, creative, and tasty. 2 points for having special rolls unique to the place.

The quantity of food you get for the price is terrible. Everything here is overpriced. I have been to many sushi places and the quality of food was average, yet this has to be the least amount of food I have ever seen for the price. The rolls were cut very thin and were not very filling. One roll that was over $9 looked like it could have been a kids meal version of sushi. In no way was the food worth the price paid... I will not be back to get ripped off. The service here is good. The decor is nothing too special.

My friends and I were driving past the restaurant and we randomly decided to stop in since there arent any sushi restaurants around the area. And I must say, I was pretty impressed from the interior design and the service. The owners them selves came up to our table and made us feel welcome. The owners are these cute Korean couples that really want to get to know you and build a relationship with you. On top of that, the food was excellent. We truly enjoyed our time eating there and will definitely go back.
