As a Korean Barbecue lover, I have tried many Korean restaurants in areas throughout the USA - Southeastern Michigan, the Atlanta Georgia area, and South Carolina. Dae Jang Keum ranks number one in my book for high quality meat, good service and atmosphere, and is very perfectly priced for the quantity of food. As a native English speaker, I had no issue reading or navigating the menu. The wait staff was very helpful in explaining different types of meats and best pairing options - which will be very helpful for first time Korean BBQ goers. This restaurants atmosphere is perfect for large parties or a fun date night. Either way you will have fun using the grill to cook your own food, but if you are not comfortable cooking your own food the wait staff will be more than happy to help - they are always watching to help.

Korean BBQ here is fabulously done well here. Well of course everything is based on your skills of being the BBQer. The meat is good quality and the side plates are tasty as well. The food is a little salty, but good level of salt where its done right. The other dishes made from the kitchen though, are just good, but not great like the BBQ. I will never base anything on service, but the service here sucks. Like legit sucks a lot. They lost my credit card, forgot that we were a table, had to yell out more then one time to catch their attention. This was just a weekday and only half the restaurant is filled. Thats just some of the complaints on the service, but take my word it does suck a lot. Of course the BBQ is great and will definitely go back again and again for food, but lets hope the service is better.

Stopped by with coworkers several times now when were in the mood for a fun post-work bite. Weve tried the bbq combos several times; you get a wide assortment of Korean side dishes, salad, soup, and a heaping portion of meat (pork and beef). You can grill it yourself using the tables grill, or the staff will assist if need be. Delicious food, full bar, big restaurant with ample seating. The price is a bit high, but if you dont mind paying for the experience and some seriously good food, its a great place to try. Most of our party had never tried Korean before, and even the picky "meat and potatoes" eaters loved it.

Dined in during lunch hours with my wife and 3 friends and the server was rude. Server aggressively stired the pork belly all over the grill splashing oil on me and my friends face and then repeatedly slapped the ribeye steak on the grill getting oil all over our clothes. Server became annoyed because we ordered too much. Spent $165 and generously left the server 12 percent tip even though she was rude and negligent but was stopped by the manager and forced to pay a 15 percent tip for a horrible service. Will never support your restaurant again. Food is good but service and management needs re training.

This place was fantastic. Ive been looking for an authentic Korean BBQ since Korea House in farmington was sold and this was heaven sent! I lovedbthe freshness of the meat. The grills were clean and stoked with a flavorful charcol. I reminded me of grilling on a warm summers night on these cold Michigan days. I would suggest this place for lunch and dinner. Reasonable prices and as all Korean dishes go, large generous portions. The workers were sweet and dilligent in checking on your food when you were caught in fun conversations with friends. A must stop if in Troy.

Great Korean BBQ. Unlike some other places in the area, they let white people grill their own meat if you ask! Dae Jang Keum is right next to HMart with a great modern layout with lots of space. Everything here is very clean, and the serving staff is all very friendly and helpful. Their set menus for KBBQ combos are a great deal for a large group and comes with so much food. The banchan (side dishes) here are also amazing, just make sure you ask if you want more of anything and they bring it right out. Ill definitely be back!

This is the best Korean BBQ in Michigan. I have been missing something like this. The portions are huge and plenty to feed the entire table. The meats were great thin sliced and tender. The grill tables are easy to use and they come by to help out. The sides are a great addition to the meat as well. I suggest adding on the rice cake plate it was so flavorful.

Nice Restaurant, OK food but really bad customer service. No sure What was wrong with his day.? He gave us a bad attitude in service that even my 10 yrs old boy said "why that waiter had really bad attitude., mom? . I hope he is the only bad one in this restaurant. I dont think my family like to come back again.

Food is good but dont order take out. They trick you to buy a full priced meal for just less then quarter of the food. Got 3.5oz(yes I measure my food)of meat and a crazy load of onions and mushroom. Thats just less than a quarter filled paper plate. Not alot at all. I was surprised they would pull this.

We did the bbq side. Food was good but the servers were rude and tore the tongs out of your hands. Also dont wear nice clothes here as the smell from the bbq smoke will ruin clothes and pirses. They need better ventilation. Dont eat here if you have asmtha issues as well. (Due to smoke)

Good Korean BBQ, friendly staff and a very reasonably priced lunch menu. Try the japchae or bibimbap. Be aware, BBQ items range from $30 upwards of $75, but the experience is authentic and the meat is top quality.

Food was great except how the worker would come up and grill our food for us, its supposed to be a grill yourself the worker would just grill keep putting more and more meat. it felt like they were rushing us

Been coming here since it was combined with the Japanese resturant. Always great food whenever we go. Waitresses are exceptionally nice and helpful. Definitely the best Korean food around this area.

This was awesome, 20 bucks per person (with what we got) for a massive amount of meat and like 15 different small plates. The food was excellent and service was top notch. Definitely coming back.

Nice atmosphere. Overall decent meats, but one of them was slightly spoiled. Worst part is the terrible service. Ordered the Korean BBQ, but our waitress only showed up once during our meal.

Good KBBQ place, authentic food and friendly staff. Their portion sizes are smaller than places like New Seoul, but that doesnt stop us from eating here when were in the neighborhood.
