It was my first time at Nico&Vali and I would say that was one of my worst experience for dinner and Im Italian, food lover but absolutely not picky. I requested to seat outside and I liked the atmosphere, not so formal it is more a pub like with no TV. After 30 mins I was on the way to leave but I decided to call for waiter, neither water was given to me. I decided to order arancini with a side of caponata and the white linguine with clams. After 20 mins arancini arrived, they looked good but unfortunately they were not tasted so... The crust was an hard shell of cheese even hard to cut with a knife and the inside without any flavor. Luckily the small side of caponata (it was in a ketchup cup so less than expected and they charged me 1$) was good. I was still working on the arancini and the pasta came... So I had to put pasta somewhere on the table (bad timing in the kitchen) Here the worst came... Linguine were horrible, never has so bad experience with pasta. I never left something on a plate, but this time I had to... Maybe it was my bad fortune, but I will never give to this place a second chance! Im so impressed of all the good reviews on this place, because there are so many other good places in Plymouth...

The service, food, drinks and ambiance are on point. It obvious that the staff is takes great pride in their work because of their knowledge and professionalism. Our server, Hope, recommended something from every category, provided samples when she could and took great care in making sure we got everything we wanted and that it was as perfect as possible.the atmosphere has a classy, hipster vibe, they provide mostly local ingredients and local beers and spirits. I had the bruschetta, vegetarian lasagna and got a free birthday cannoli at the end. It was a very enjoyable experience and I cant wait to come back when they have live music.

I always liked this place. We went here after a year. This was the first time I had less than a 5 star food. We ordered the basic stuff. Eggplant parmigiana, veg lasagna, mushroom sandwich and kids pizza. I was sad to see each dish something wrong in it. The best one was the minestrone soup. Eggplant parmigiana was too much saucey, too tangy (uncooked tomato taste) Veg lasagna amazing taste but again uncooked veggies. Mushroom sandwich the bread was too hard. The worst was the kids pizza - the cheese just sled right of the crust and it was super sloppy. Sorry to write such a review for a place I use to love. :(

Very disappointed how far my old favorite has fallen. Service was horrible and the quality of food was a sad shadow of what it used to be. Our last two trips may be our last for a long time. Im sure we will be there again, but I really hope they pick up their game. Eg, My husbands dish was virtually inedible and the owners(?) did nothing to improve our experience. NOTE: this was from 4 months ago! I truly hope things have improved since then. Perhaps the restaurant was going thru a transition period.

This place is absolutely fantastic!!! We live nearby, and we go there all of the time. The food is authentic Italian because the owners are Italian and practically the whole family works there. It is a GREAT family atmosphere too. The eggplant lasagna is out this world tasty; we bought a whole tray to serve at Christmas eve, and it was a hit with everyone. You will definitely like this place!!!! Everything on the menu is worth trying.

Bistro feel - exquisite food, the best servers; dont expect oversized American restaurant portions. Expect quality, FRESH Euro-Italian fare at great prices. We adore this restaurant for its food, quality, location & atmosphere. The owner, Paul, is helpful, kind & very involved with ensuring your visit was a great one. Dont pass up trying dessert & a coffee! Its all excellent. We recommend Nico & Vali to all friends & family.

Food was delicious, service was pretty good. The parking lot is small (and it sure would be helpful to know the only entrance is also the only exit!) and the dining area is small and fairly informal. A bit pricy for such informal dining, but still an enjoyable dinner. Dinner was amazing, but I was a little surprised to learn that my a la mode (one small scoop of ice cream) added $3 to my $6 dessert. It was delicious though.

Thanks to our wonderful server, Cameron, we tried the burger. Wow!!!!!! All I can say is Ive never been this excited about a burger. Huge, juicy, perfect cheese, carmalized onions, great lettuce, perfect sauce. The most perfect combination of toppings making, what we believe is the worlds best burger!! Since we can walk here, they will surely be seeing us a lot, but I would drive/fly far to eat here again!

Staff was super nice, very attentive. We did wait a little but they compensated with free dessert and appetizer. The food was amazing. Updated *** We continue to come back and have excellent food here all of the time! Food is kind of slow, but its really the atmosphere and is nice to give you time to talk and enjoy your surrounds and company. Love it.

Lively Italian restaurant. Loud atmosphere--great when you want high energy conversation. Not as good if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner or if anyone in your party has difficulty hearing in loud environments. I thought the food was good but not exceptional. Menu items range from salad and burgers to a nice range of Italian entrées.

Great service, casual atmosphere, nice decor, and oh the food! Portions are the perfect size, not ridiculously Americanized. And everything tastes fresh and just wonderful. The coffee and desserts are also fabulous, eat them! I recommend the Tiramisu or the Tuxedo Cheesecake. I would write a more coherent review, but Im still in a food coma.

The food, services and drinks are all exceptional! The main dining room can be a bit noisy, due to its small size and open atmosphere, but that doesnt bother me. Eating on the patio during the warmer months is awesome! I highly recommend Nico & Vali for Italian food in Plymouth! Their Arancini, Caprese and Gnocchi Cinghiale are amazing

Great homely italian food. Went there for lunch with my husband and absolutely loved the vegetarian pasta and lasagna. The coffee was good and they had a good selection of deserts too including tiramisu, mousse cakes and home made canolis. Will definitely recommend this to my friends and come back here more often :-)

We were at Nico and Vali last night with our friends and we loved our time there. The ambience was beautiful, upbeat energy, our server - she was very friendly and polite. To make our evening perfect, the food was delicious. Price did justice to this perfect combination. We will definitely visit again!

Was excited to try this place for authentic italian, or so we thought... None of their pasta is homemade, other than the gnocchi. The mussel appetizer was extremely salty as well as the veal and eggplant. Our waiter was a female named Kris, and was anything but polite. Will not be going back
