WORST SERVICE EVER! Placed a carry-out order this evening for 1 gluten-free spaghetti with meat sauce, 1 chicken marsala. Hostess asked what I wanted as a side, I asked for salad. Order was ready when we arrived and I was surprised that the total only came to just over $13. The hostess was polite, but 2 waitresses standing nearby never even glanced in my direction, nevermind make eye contact.Got home and found that Id received penne with marinara instead of spaghetti with meat sauce. I called to see if wed accidentally picked up someone elses order or if they had made a mistake (although the receipt seemed correct). The hostess informed me rather casually that theyd run out of gluten-free spaghetti, so theyd used the penne, and that the meat sauce wasnt gluten-free, so they used marinara. I said that it was really unprofessional of them to not inform me about the sauce (either during the initial phone call, calling me back, or in person) and to not tell me about the pasta substitution, and that I wanted to be compensated in some way. She said ok, and put the phone down. I heard her talking to a man in the background. This man came on the phone and simply began with "hello?" "hello...?" I responded. Either the hostess didnt properly inform the man about the person on the line, or this man (who turned out to be the OWNER) had horrible manners. Turns out it was both! I had to explain who I was and what happened, and after looking at the receipt again, added that the spaghetti was was rung up as a side for the marsala, when it should have been have been a full size order (hence the low price). The owner informed me that the penne was also gluten-free as the hostess said, but that all of their sauces were gluten-free. I asked if I could be compensated in some way, with partial refund or gift card, due to the frustration of being misinformed and their mistake. He said hed put in another order and I said that we wouldnt be able to make it as we were 20 minutes away and it was snowing heavily. So he asked when we could come in again. I said that we were only in town for the weekend (true) and itd be much more convenient to compensate with the refund, gift card, etc. He said ok and gave a half-apology, mumbling something about "this waitress messing things up sometimes." Satisfied as much as I could be, I ended the call and tried to eat my mediocre dish. Ragu sauce tastes better than their marinara. My bfs dish was equally paltry - the sauce broke. 5 minutes later, I got a call from the owner. He said that because the spaghetti was rung up as a (free) side for the marsala, we didnt actually pay for it. I explained again that the spaghetti should NOT have been a side but a full order. He agreed, but seemed adamant about pointing out that we hadnt actually paid for their mistake. I asked if he wasnt going to give me a refund then. He said no, but it would only be a partial refund, for the cost of a side had we actually ordered (and paid!) for one. His tone couldnt have been any less apologetic, and I felt as if was rubbing my face in the fact that he was "really going out of his way" to refund something we didnt actually order (although we certainly tried!). It was so insulting, especially coming from the owner! If you want a quality meal with quality service, DO NOT GO HERE.

I was delighted that they had a gluten free menu with a nice variety of options - which was the primary reason for selecting this restaurant. Despite not every table being full, we were stuck in an unusual cramped seating location, facing a wall - which we asked to change (and thankfully were). Our house salads were rather lame...the single tomato slice was anemic, the salad limp and several pieces of lettuce should have never made it on the plate. For an opener, it really lacked personality and flavor. Wendys has a better salad. I chose a seafood entree and substituted the linguine for a GF pasta. That was very good! My spouses non-gf dinner of veal Parmesan wasnt anything to write home about. The wine list was limited but its easy enough to find something to match ones preferences. Our desserts were enjoyable (one regular chocolate one gf vanilla Tiramisu) but my decaf cappecino (I know, whats the point if its decaf) was like flavored hot water with a lame foam barely covering. Overall, it was a pleasant enough experience with a quaint atmosphere. However, the entire experience would have felt far more positive and enjoyable if our server was in a better mood. We will probably go back at some point but wont rush to get there.

Im Jeremy Ryder, the head sautee chef of Buon Gusto and I am still working there. I have been in control of sautee dishes for almost a year. I have worked my way up from being a prep cook, to being in control of the burners cooking on the line with control of the kitchen staff. I guarantee that every dish I serve I put compassion into, and pay attention to the flavors as if it was my own self I was serving it to. Buon Gusto is a very small establishment, behind it stands many big hearts of the food and hard work between myself, Sylvia and Sal Viviano, and other instrumental employees to keep the restaurant running smoothly. Our front if the house staff is trained to connect into your needs, on a personal level. And often attended your specific dietary needs or restrictions. The business has been successful since it opened, about ten years ago. Buon Gusto has been a home to many of our diners, and has also become a home to its Chef.

Me and my wife ate here while we were visiting some friends in town. The atmosphere of the restaurant was intimate and nice. There was a really pretty outside dining area but we sat inside due to the heat. The food was very good and satisfying! Our hometown has tons of posh places to eat and we go often, so I know what people think "good food" is. This place exceeded our expectations. I didnt expect a 5 star, pretentious dining experience, in fact I was dreading that! We left really happy, and impressed at how comfortable we felt, and how much we actually just talked over good food! I even saw the chef walking around talking to people... nice touch! If we come back in town we will definitely come here to kick back! Thanks guys!

My favorite restauran in Brighton! I have celiacs and was first drawn to them for their gluten free menu. They have the most delicious authentic Italian cuisine served in a quaint and cozy setting. One evening we were taking our time with several courses and my gf lasagna must have been kept on the heater for too long and came out burnt. The chef and possibly owner could not have been more apologetic, they quickly cooked up any other entree I chose at no charge and gave me a new lasagna to take home! Best service and food we have seen in a long time.

Anyone who gives this place more than two stars does not know Italian food. The "Imported meets and cheeses" on the antipasto plate were more like something from Meijer lunchmeat case. There were not enough olives on the plate, and no artichokes as the menu promised. My Margherita pizza was soggy and heavy, not crispy and light like it should have been, because it had too much cheese and too many tomatoes. The crust seemed to be some kind of purchased, previously frozen, par-baked thing. The glum faces on the servers did not help the situation.
