Good things come in a small package. This bakery is so tiny that you can miss it if not paying attention.Family owned business is a pearl to try out if you have some cash on hand.All items are very reasonably priced and fresh.Even the most simple pineapple bread bun is a joy for the palate; soft warm and mildly sweet.There is no comparison with the larger commercial -size pastry business that recently opened across the street.Tai Pan has no rivals because the ingredients are crafted by expert hands and baked to the perfection.For us this is a weekly routine and also enjoy the marvelous sweet-potato-filling cakes on special occasions.

My family and I have been eating at this bakery for years. Not only are their wide selection of uniquely delicious baked goods made fresh every day but the service is outstanding. This small and cute little shop is a staple in our family. I travel over an hour to purchase their wonderful pastries, cakes and other baked goodness on a regular basis. If youre looking for authentic home baked Chinese pastries you do not need to look any further. Their great prices and even better tastes will blow your mind and stay with you forever!!! I give them TEN stars!!! :)

The only place I know of in the Metro Detroit area for freshly baked authentically Chinese pastries. They have bean paste and custard buns, moon cakes and other Chinese baked and steamed goods. Also note their prices are very reasonable. For anyone familiar with Asian sweets or looking for a interesting place for dessert or a snack, this place is a great authentic find.

My family and I are regular customers here, and let me just tell you that the baked goods are absolutely tasty and FANTASTIC!! The peopple and their service are wonderful. I love this bakery! I am very glad that we have Tai Pan Bakery in the metro detroit area! :)

Ditto on the above reviews - I get 4-5 buns and its about $4-5. Super cheap! Quality is good too. I like the pork buns, the smaller pork buns near the front counter (sugary topping, delicious!), and the custard buns as well as the hot dog buns.

So good! The triangle cake is delicious, their moon cakes have perfect looking designs on them, their eg tarts are yummy and it even ha bubble tea! The prices are very affordable but it only accepts cash. It has a wonderful small bakery feel!
