Absolutely delicious and very well priced. My wife and I decided to stop here at random to get a treat after lunch and we split a slice of oreo cheesecake, a peanut butter mousse, and a cup of house coffee. We figured getting two things and splitting them would be enough. It was WAY more than enough but after we finished eating them we didnt feel bloated and nasty full. The cheesecake was out of this world. The mousse was delicious as well. The coffee, while not being something youd brag to mom and dad about, was a great compliment to the sweets. We came back before leaving for the day to bring home something else. Got some ice cream and an apricot tart. Both again just as good as the others. If you like sweets (who doesnt?), and want an amazing local product, this is your place!!!

You know that scene where Willy Wonky shows the kids the chocolate river? That was me ogling over the great selection of fluffy looking cakes, donuts, cookies, pastries, and of course ice cream that you can imagine at Astoria. Had a black and white cookie that I still daydream about. And they have so much chocolate. Im pretty sure theyll cover anything in chocolate for you if you ask nicely.

Stopped in after dining at BW3 in Royal Oak. The service was prompt and the selection amazing hence me giving them 2 stars. However, the items I selected (red velvet cupcake, chocolate mousse cup & chocolate chunk pecan cookie) tasted old/stale & pretty much tasteless. The cookie was the least offensive of the 3. Wasted trip not to mention wasted $$.

It wouldnt be fair to judge a pastry shop on just one visit, so I waited for the 3rd one. Im not impressed with below average taste and tiramisu tops the list as the worse for my tastebuds. Bland, visually not appealing at all. I hope they improve it because my friends keep dragging me there and I will be running out of things to try soon.

The selection of pastries offered by Astoria is impressive; you will surely find something to your liking. I recommend their cronuts. They do not handle customers via a queue. Instead, people gather around the counter perusing the pastries and employees ask who needs assistance. During busy times, this can get chaotic.

I realize that my high rating is partially based on the fact that it has almost everything a greedy guts could want AND its open til 11, but I enjoyed my caramel apple cheesecake and my red velvet cupcake immensely. Not too sweet, not sugarless, but just right. Nom, nom! Plus, I thought the prices were reasonable.

If it was just based on taste Id probably give them 3 stars, but the whole Astoria experience is just so unique to them so they get an extra star for the decor and the little string tying the box that just keeps us coming back. The desserts themselves taste average and are on the pricey side.

The experience was horrible, I walked in with my family. there was no line and the 2 servers behind the counter stared at us for at least 5 minutes and did not offer to take our order. We left. We explained to our sons we are not going beg someone to take our money. Will never go back there!

An overpriced confection of mass produced pastries made with the finest Plaster of Paris that money can buy complemented with coffee so weak that adding cream converts it to warm water with milk. Obviously, Astoria Bakery caters to people without taste and pallet.

Havent had a bad dessert yet, and Ive tried quite a few. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they are pricier than other local places. Its more of a special treat kind of place. Their heart cookies are my favorite.

Everything looks fantastic however its just a show. Everything taste like its a week old - stale & dry and lacking real flavor. Not worth the money. If youre looking to crush your sweet tooth head to Gayles Chocolates.

Their treats are delicious- the tigers tails (rolled cookies filled with Mousse and drizzled with chocolate) are moist and not overly sweet. Same for the macaroons. And they offer coffee, all in all worth the trip!

They have a wide selection of sweets. The service is great but some of the selections lack that ummmf. The cheesecake is just OK and sometimes the cakes are dry but the turtles are delicious so its hit and miss.

everything is good. simple stuff to crazy complex messes of chocolate. its pretty dangerous having a place like this open til midnight. certainly not cheap but always the best sweets on demand.

They have become the coney island of dessert. I love that they are open late but thats about it. I cant be the only one that feels grossed out by being served food by someone in shorts.

Everything looks great and the service is usually pretty quick but the taste can be hit or miss, definitely not something that you cant get at most of the markets around town.

Very good biscotti and macaron. Coffee was good as well. Oddly overstaffed (5 people for that little place!?) Not a lot of seating but most people are buying and leaving.

Excellent treats. Split a Birthday cake ice cream scoop with my son one morning. Was it weird getting ice cream in the morning? NO. Not from here dude. It was delicious.

Honestly, they had my wifes ice cream. She wouldve been devastated if they didnt have cookie dough ice cream. But the prices were good and the people were nice.

classic pastry shop in down town Royal Oak. Overwhelming selection of sweet treats, coffee, espresso, ice cream and great service. Outside tables available.

Good selection of desserts! I got the custard roll, and it was okay. The pastry was crispy. My boyfriend got the pecan turtle brownie, and he liked it.

This pastry shop has a variety of baked goods, including cronuts. In addition they also have gelato. All items are wrapped in cute packaging.

Most desserts are delicious, but some could be better. It is kind of pricy, but their prices are fairly normal for a pastry shop.

Great place, open late. Always two people at the counter eager to serve. Pastries > Ice Cream > Coffee, in that order.
