I booked my son’s first birthday in their banquet room. Booking was easy as it was done over the phone. We chose the Villager Buffet as our meal option, but were not given any details except that it was 10.95 per person as it states on the website. There was no booking fee or deposit. Upon arrival to the restaurant I double checked the pricing and billing with our waitress. I asked what the price is for children (as it is not listed anywhere) and how it worked if some people attending the party did not want to eat. I was informed that since I made the booking for 35 people, the restaurant had to be paid for at least that many people so if some did not eat that was fine as long as they got their 35 person guarantee. I was also informed that children under 10 were free. It turned out that I had 45 people show up, and exactly 10 who did not eat so it should have worked out perfectly. I also had guests with children have their kids eat based on the premise that they were free, who otherwise would not of had them eat as they had given them a meal just two hours before. In the middle of our meal, the waitress came back and said she had spoken to the owner and every person who walked through the door had to pay whether they had eaten or not, and children were 6.95. Needless to say at the end of the party I had to pay much more than I was initially told. Additionally the buffet had already been cleared of the leftover food when I was advised of the change, so the people who hadn’t eaten were not even able to make a plate since they had to pay for it regardless. It was very unorganized and seemed like they were making rules as they went. We were advised that all of this was listed on the website. 3 people from our party searched the website and found nothing except the 10.95 per person pricing. Nothing on kids pricing and nothing stating that each person who came had to pay regardless of whether they ate. When confronted with this information the waitress said “well I don’t know why it isn’t on the website, it used to be.” Overall very unsatisfied, and will not be booking any sort of party there or patronizing them in the future.

Although Ive been here numerous times the staff tries pretty hard but it seems to be finding a Synergy between quality and the food overall presentation and maybe a little missing heart and soul. Its not a super expensive place so its hard to argue you are getting what you pay for but being a privately owned local business one would feel that they would strive really hard to make themselves stand out and shine brighter than all the rest of the competition. Unfortunately last night was not one of our better experiences there Frozen ice cubes with what appeared to be grains of pepper Frozen within them and additional glass of water with an actual small bug or might of some sort inside of it numerous pieces of lettuce in the salad that were brown or black and part of my sons order ended up missing and did not get it until he was done eating his main meal. I will be the first to point out that they were very nice I did not charge us for the item that was left behind and took 10% off the bill bring to our attention that they strive to be a good restaurant and they understand that they kind of fell behind the 8-ball a little bit. Which was thoughtful and well-placed and we will continue to go because of that service.

Overall, this is an excellent restaurant. I do have on issue though. The recently decided not to give out their wifi password to patrons. This is very unfortunately, I like to stop in there during the day and have business meetings here. This will limit by ability to do this and they will lose some lunch business from me because of it. I was able to connect to Xfinity signal from a neighboring business for a complimentary 1 hour connection. On this particular visit, I answered my phone while I was eating and the staff member decided to Shush me for being to loud. This is usually not an issue for me but in this case there was only one other person in the dining room and he was on his phone as well. It was an important call and I wasnt disrupting other patrons. So, my only thought was that the waitress did not like me sitting in there and working on lunch. So, I wont be coming here for lunch the rest of the week while I am in town. So, since my complaints are more about the experience rather than the food. My food was awesome as usual!

We 1st checked Villagers out on Memorial Day. We were looking for a place for a wake from Great Lakes Cemetary. We stoped and talked with Mark one of the owners. He was very gracious in working out what we needed. Yesterday we went there to set up the room we had for todays event. We decided to have dinner. It was very good and the portions were very generous. The german tomato soup is to die for. Today we had a brunch that was great. I would like to mention our waitress Carolyn. She was excellent for our dinner than again this morning. Great place to eat.

I been sitting here 20 minutes waiting for my food. Slow. No one here Sunday night. Wrote that review while I was in the restaurant. The waitress saw my name on my credit card and followed me out of the restaurant. Embarrassed in front of my date. She put me on the spot. Got in my face about a bad review. She said the owner saw it and called her. Well the service was slow. The Waitress was not friendly and followed me out of the restaurant and called me out by name. I would have forgotten about slow service but a scary waitress will not bring me back.

This would have been a 5 star but a very rude waitress, Lori 2 weeks in a row. We got charged for a sausage that we thought came with one our entrees. When I pointed out the waitress corrected it but said "from now on give it back now I have to pay for it"! I was stunned. The last time we had her last week she took our order but proceeded to rearrange chairs. We say there 15 minutes before asking the hostess to bring our coffee. She never once asked us for refills Very sad behavior that we are not use to there!!!

As far as family style restaurants go, they are slightly above average, in all categories: Mostly frozen bulk stuff, OK french fries, average price, so-so coffee, above average cleanliness, moderate to good attentiveness from the servers (based on a couple dozen visits spanning 15 years), and about typical speed / time from order to table. Their biggest attributes are above average friendliness, and proximity to home. Id give them 3.5 stars, if that were an option -- but Im not going 4 stars.

Eat here often, mostly for breakfast. The breakfast sausage is really good and they have the best oatmeal. Have had great food here and Ive had ok food here. I guess it just depends on what you get. They have good specials here. As far as the service, some servers are great and a few do okay. Coffee is ok, not bad for a family restaurant. Takes some visiting to determine what you like here.
