I were into Kobe last night. We have visited several times in the past however last night our party of 5 ordered Coke products, no one had any alcohol. My son ordered another Coke. They brought it back and he took 2 big gulps and almost puked. He gave it to me said take a small sip. I did and it was like strong salt. Although it looked like Coke, there was not smell. He gave it back to the waitress and she brought him back another Coke. A manager came to the table and said, laughing that that was a glass of Soy Sauce. Still laughing he walked away. There was not a 10% discount or any discount of any kind on the bill. Our chicken was dry, over done althought the chef was funny and talked to us. The dry chicken we could tollerate however the manager laughing was the worst. What if my pregnant daughter in law drank that? OMG we will not be back. These people do not operate in an american way at all. I am not predigest and I could say in the past I loved going to KOBE we will not return there any more. I would not recommend them to anyone either. Terrible experience. The food and service has gone down hill from the past.

Ive been to this restaurant dozens of times but tonight with chef Adam was a different experience. Adam for some reason decided to throw oil and vegetables over my head when I asked him a question. The hot vegetables missed me but unfortunately the scorching oil landed on my forehead burning me. The burn was instantly painful and out of shock I told him he burned me and instead of instantly apologizing in an argumentative tone said that it didnt hit me. I wiped the hot oil off my forehead to show him the oil on my hand. I also dont understand why he felt the need to make fun or discuss burning me to the two couples on the other side of the table at the end of the meal. Very rude. Not what I was expecting when I go out to eat. My husband was not happy that he had to keep starting over to make the food because he would mess up. He also gave out portions incorrectly and had to ask the back for more ingredients. A white guy and another cook came out to point out his mishaps. Kobe should get rid of this guy. The floor is so dirty its sticky. This place has gone downhill since they put in the addition.

I really like eating here and the food and experience is great! My only guff is that I think that the head waitress has it out for me! Every time she seats me in with people who have already made their orders and gotten soup and salad. This last weekend when I went there was a 2 hour wait and I asked if it was possible for her to give me a call and she scoffed at me and said, "I dont have time to do something like that!" I was there with my girlfriend and we just wanted to know if that is a service offered. I know they dont now, but she could of told me politely without scoffing, and it wouldnt bother me so much if her service wasnt always accompanied by an attitude and a poor seat. I ended up asking for a different seat this last time simply because there was no room to sit and I didnt want to have my order messed up and feel like I was being rushed through my meal again. Every other person there has been great though, and I would suggest it for any date night, not just birthdays and anniversaries.

i was there in dec and had a great experience. chef was great, food was exactly what i wanted and more. i even told my sister wed be going there again soon i went back a few days ago and was really disappointed. i tried to order the exact same thing i had last time and was told i there were under new management and could no longer have most of the things i ordered. previously i made a substitution of salmon for lobster tail on an order for an up-charge, this was no longer an option. i also asked for egg yolk sauce, which is on the menu, but was told they no longer offer it. my friend ordered a drink (amaretto sour) that tasted odd. she asked for it be remade and was told it would be made the same finally the water had an odd minty taste. overall Im really disappointed given i was excited to return there again. i would like to write them but they have no email address or page to submit to. i say try one of the smaller places, this is just expensive mongolian bbq now

My husband and I agree, this place is hands down our favorite place to go. Weve both live in Grand Raipds our whole loves and only just discovered this gem about 5 years ago. Its still, to this day our number one pick when we have the money. You get excellent food that is to die for. My favorite thing is that, unlike other hibachi grills Kobe makes Japanese soba noodles which I dont see many other places who prefer to cook shrimp instead for an appetizer. I personally like the noodles better. Also, their white yum yum sauce is to die for! I eat it with practically everything on my plate! Last but certainly not least, their fried rice is amazing! I jump at the chance to spend an extra 2.50 for a double portion! Be warned, theres a reason this place is packed every Saturday evening! Be sure to call ahead to put your name in, otherwise you might be waiting a while, the wait is well worth it either way!

Went there on Friday night and didnt expect to just walk right in and be seated but wait 20 minutes just for them to acknowledge me and put my name on the list, it was just a big unorganized cluster... we took our seats in the bar area to wait and then they finally call our name for the first time ever as "last call" and it was the first call... Then when we finally took our seats at the hibachi grill after waiting over an hour the chef was very entertaining and it was very good food, but it was not fun up to that. I think there are better choices for a japanese steakhouse in this area, the manager guy didnt even give me a wait time, he just said I dont know... when I asked how long it would be. I felt like they could care less if they had my business or not, and thats not how i want to feel to pay over $20 a plate for food.

The food was great. The chef was entertaining. The facility was okay. My wife and I went there for our anniversary. I paid with cash, giving the staff more than %18. While I was washing my hands in the restroom, my wife was approached by our server Alanna, who claimed there was $20 missing. I studied accounting in college. I own a business in the food service industry. I counted the money three times to ensure she was being compensated. I put down the extra twenty because I have no interest in making a scene. Next, I spoke with the manager who seemed not only unappreciative, but unsympathetic. I dont care about the $20. My goal was to inform him of the situation. If I were informed about an employee allegedly stealing from my customers or my company, I would have taken that in a different way.
