I was just in this very cute pastry & coffee shop the other morning. As soon as stepped into this charming, albeit small, establishment I was immediately greeted by the owner (Katy Loy). There is a perfect selection of carefully crafted pastries such as the best croissants outside of Paris, pecan sticky buns, and delicious cinnamon rolls. It is obvious that the artist behind these confections has had professional training-- Loy attended the French Pastry School in Chicago. However, Im so glad that she returned to Ann Arbor to open a much-needed quality bakery. I highly recommend The Pastry Peddler to anyone! p.s. They proudly serve Intelligentsia coffee, which I havent tried yet but hope to very soon!

Quaint little bakery, with limited seating indoors (and out if weather is pleasant). Coffee was okay. Had the vegetarian pastie and chocolate almond croissant. Both were delicious, filling and made a good breakfast. One star less because I felt it was expensive(these three things were a total of $13), and wish they could do fresh egg sandwiches in croissants.

Excellent quality pastries and coffee. I have had Croissant, Pain au Chocolate, and Almond Croissant all here, and all have been delicious! I also have heard their Pasties and muffins are fantastic! Their butter/plain croissants are really good because they are not sweet, they are just buttery and flakey! Better than Zingermans in my opinion!

The pastries here are the best in town, though occasionally they are not properly formed (ie. chocolate falls out of the bottom of chocolate croissants-not fun when the chocolate is very hot!). I dont find the coffee here to be particularly good (though its not terrible), so I usually pick up my pastry peddler pastries elsewhere.

We were so happy when we found the Pastry Peddlers croissants! Be still my heart. This is a treasure in Ann Arbor. I treat myself to one of the almond croissants once a month and always feel like I died and went to heaven. Or we buy their plain ones and reheat them in the toaster oven and it is like a trip to France.

Maybe everyone else went at a different time than I did, but I was fooled by the reviews. When I went in, I came in for 2 cinnamon rolls and was disappointed. They were dry; even after I put them in the microwave to heat them up because they were cold when I purchased them.

We discovered this too late... Such a great spot for breaking treats. The croissants and pain au chocolate (or chocolate croissants) even earned the approval of our resident picky Frenchman. Dont forget to try the pasties for something filling.

Pictures show a loaf of bread and its a bakery. I drive 20 minutes out of my way to get there and theres no bread theres just some assorted pastries which were so overpriced. I do not see the attraction here. Very expensive for a college town.

Youve likely had Pastry Peddler goods even if youve never set foot in the store. They distribute to a lot of places around town and they make pretty decent stuff. If you want their best product, go in to the store and get a breakfast pasty.

Ive lived in Ann Arbor a long time and can confidently say that this is my favorite pastry shop in town. Best croissants in town! They are made the way they should be -- crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside.

For the LA/Chi incomers they use Intelligentsia coffee but was scolding hot both times (separate days, latte). The plus (and their forte) are the pastries. The croissants were very outstanding.

Meets all my AM food requirements. Pasties and pastries. Who could ask for more? Their sweet rolls are the ones you have been looking for year after year. Look no farther.

This is a great bakery, from their pasties (a Michigan favorite) to their blueberry muffins and croissants, the flavors are clear and tasty. Cant beat the prices...

This is a great little pastry shop; the food is great, the portions are large, and the price is inexpensive. I couldnt ask for anything more in a bakery.

Had a delicious bacon and cheese score, very friendly service. Two small tables, not a lot of seating. More of a grab and go place.

Best croissants in Ann Arbor (though Viennoiserie selection in Ann Arbor is sad). And vanilla cinnamon scones are excellent.
