I love mom and pop shops and rox diner is exactly that. Theres usually a 15 mins wait but we came right before the rush. Very homey atmosphere and you can really taste that everything is made from scratch. The waitress knew the menu and didnt studded when I asked what her suggestions are. The service was great, she smiled and refilled our coffees whenever it was needed. Their potatoes were crispy and seasoned very well. My friend got the corn beef hash and it was very good! Thin layer of crispy potatoey meaty goodness, highly recommend. There is one thing that went wrong. I got the strawberry stuffed French toast and it was the most disappointing thing Ive seen!! When I opened up the French toast I literally was able to count 5 slices of strawberry and maybe a nickel size spot of Nutella! My heart literally broke. The reason I gave it a three star is because I really see potential in the diner. I think I was unlucky with the chef that day but my friend told me I ordered the wrong thing. Therefore I will come back and try their banana mascarpone stuffed French toast.

Best breakfast food! Being new to the area my roommate and I (who love breakfast food) tried different places in the area and nothing has compared to the Rox. I highly recommend this place to anyone. It doesnt matter what you order, everything is good. My favorites are the "Italian Job, "Heck of a breakfast sandwich, and their Tahitian french toast (mango stuffed brioche french toast topped with coconut). The peasant toast is so good and my friends are I are addicted to thier home fries! This place does get busy on the weekends, but the service is great and the waitresses are always running around filling up your coffee. They just remodeled the place with new furniture and added booths which is nice. They took away the comic pictures on the walls which I felt gave the place character. O well white walls it is. I always say that I will get something different when I go...maybe I will try the goat cheese, pear & avocado omelet that Ive heard so much about!

One thing I have learned living in West Roxbury area...there is no shortage of breakfast places. And I couldnt be happier! Rox Diner is amazing, but get there early. Or you will be waiting outside. Its tiny, but quick and efficient. The staff is awesome and friendly even when its crazy hectic in there. The banana nutella stuffed french toast was incredible. Every time I have been here I have had something more amazing than the last time. And now they are open for dinner too. Hooray!

DELICIOUS. HOMEGROWN. LOCAL. WONDERFUL. Nothing to lose. Go there for brunch, and dont forget their burgers and dinner menu. They have a newish chef who has had a really good time being creative with new dishes. I am a huge fan of their salads around lunch. The local stuff gets me. Literally the only problem with this place is that there isnt enough seating to allow me to go there all the time.

Small, cute diner. Has a local feel to it. There isnt that much room for waiting customers (although the the wait for a table itself wasnt very long). There are 2-3 small tables for two, and about 4 regular tables, plus a small bar. So come early if you want to find a seat. The food was quite good. The waitresses were so very kind. Credit/Debit accepted, high seat available for little ones.

A great value for great breakfast food. The best option in the area. Though, their new lunch menu leaves something to be desired. The mac & cheese was very bland and came with toast, not the promised biscuits. The burgers are very greasy and the fries are just ok. But again, you cant beat their breakfast! 5 out of 5 for breakfast!

Everything one would want in a diner. Clean! Sit down or take out GREAT FOOD. Breakfast + lunch. Street parking or local lots close by. A great healthy choices, or naughty French toast, fruit salad, beacon and cage free happy chicken eggs. Food to go- good to go. They pack it all up and dont forget anything.

RE: New Rox Diner in Newtonville: Nice atmosphere. Good, high end diner fare, though slightly over priced. Meanwhile, the bathrooms were absolutely repulsive. Its as if the entire place was renovated but they forgot to do the bathrooms...worse yet, they forgot to clean them before opening...so gross.

Perfect place for breakfast! Try the mango stuffed french toast or any omelette-my favorite is the goat cheese, pear & avocado. Great atmosphere, great food, & reasonable price. Love this place! Cant wait until they open location #2 in Newton!

I heard about this place from my co-workers. I went there on a Sunday morning which seemed to be a popular time. I didnt wait long for a seat. Its a small place with very friendly waiters who were attentive. The decor was cute.

The food was really good and service was fantastic. The atmosphere seemed a little haphazard and while the menu specials were creative, I would have liked to see a wider selection of inventive breakfast options on the menu.

Fantasia local find for breakfast. The small place is always stuffed but the wait is worth it. Their special Mascerpone and nuttella french toast is amazing.

Simply the best french toast. Everything on the menu looks great; however, despite going a dozen or so times, I always get the french toast. And, bacon.

The breakfast here is some of the best in the area. They also use fresh local bread for the toast. The chicken sausage apple omlette is awesome!

Great breakfast food you could find in West Roxbury, but I am sick of the same menu for over 10 years.

Great local breakfast spot. Corn beef hash is a must. Lines can be long on the weekend, but worth it.
