I find it pretty amazing when you visit an establishment that takes pride in their customers and takes notice of a returning customer. Aji Sushi is a small, quaint, sushi restaurant nestled in the Newtonville village of Newton. It has a wonderful selection of sushi as well as other offerings on the menu. Good selections of drinks and attentive service. My go to favs is the crazy maki, crazy fighter and spicy mango tuna which I find refreshing and bursting with flavor. Its definitely my go to place to satisfy my sushi cravings and highly recommend!

Adorable little place. Great service. Tried the spicy crunchy tuna mango roll - it was amazing (though a little heavy on the tempura crumb which isnt my favorite). Had the raspberry sake, also excellent if you like sweet drinks. For dessert I tried their orange sorbet which is served in an actual orange! Prices are fair, especially for Newton. Ill definitely be back!

I used to love thiss place. I would go for lunch all the time. The food is very fresh. But, the last time i went with a friend i was very shocked at the cost of the lunch. We paid 85.00. And we were still hungry. The price jump was unbelievable. I always went there. I cant afford that. I am sorry to say but i will not be going back.....

Too much soy sauce in everything and the waitress was patronizing. Said the fried tofu will be 5 pieces and only gave me 3. Order one dish on the menu then give me another and practically said it was my fault for telling her the wrong thing. What a joke! Not sure where they got the Zagat stickers from -- get that checked out!!

Their sushi is great! One of my favorite sushi spots in Newton. My only complaint is their online menu doesnt match the one they have printed. I made the mistake of ordering from something online only to find out that it was offered. Aside from that the food is great, the staff are nice and overall the place is a must.

Acceptable Japanese food, but not great. Prices are about 1.5 - 2x what they ought to be. The yakitori chicken is not good, tasteless dry large chunks. Other dishes were OK, sushi and sushi rolls pretty decent. But this is my fourth or fifth choice of Japanese restaurants in the immediate area.

Not sure but the sushi rolls I ate smelled funny. The decor is fine but for this being a clean place I am not confident. Not to mention pricy. This is my 2 cents. I took the time to write this because I went here because of the reviews and felt they were exagerated
