Service was abysmal; Allow me to update this, I recently tried Fuji Steakhouse down the road so now i have something to compare this place to. Everything at Japan One has a bit of an off taste like they dont use fresh food. At Fuji the fish did not taste like it had been rotting for a few days. When I had gone to Japan One for the last time we were in a large group, I had ordered the soup they gave me a salad. When they brought the main meal for everyone they brought it out for everyone except me, I had to wait an hour and half and watch other tables get served the same thing I had ordered for lunch before they got to me. Fuji by comparison, after they seated us gave us each a heated hand towels to clean our hands before we ate. The chopsticks were actually round and sanded so they dont leave splinters in your lips. Service was very fast and attentive. The food was actually less expensive then Japan One and much higher quality, Ive never had salmon that soft and without a fishy off taste to it before. Where as Japan One has served some salmon that was almost hard in places like it had a tumor. So I will not be returning here, they have a long way to go if you want sushi drive across Marlborough and go to Fuji you wont regret it.

Just had lunch here and it was fantastic. I ordered the Lunch Bento Box with Chicken Teriyaki, it came with Miso soup, 4 california rolls, 3 shrimp shumai, mised vegetables, rice, and the chicken. I had to share my food I could not eat it all! Everything is delicious too. The restaurant is small but cozy with a very relaxed atmosphere. I plan to eat-in the next time I go. The staff was friendly and everything was neat and clean. It was really cool to watch the chef making sushi behind the bar - everything is freshly made.

I was at the trade center a few blockss away for a craft show, and ended up going here for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. The high ratio of fish to vegetable was great, it was fresh, and relatively inexpensive. Ill definitely come if Im in the area for lunch again.

overall great food for the price, i did not like the tempura ice cream the batter on it was dry and crumbly without the tampura taste.

A hidden jewel, a small space with excellent food and friendly service. More than five visits and always leave very happy!

Tucked away a few doors down from Supercuts, this tiny Japanese restaurant does sushi and other standard fare.
