Ive eaten sushi at so many places in the region and around the country. It pains me to say so about a place which I would like to support, as its fairly local to me, but this place is kind of awful. Ive given it three times; once a couple of months after they first opened to allow them to get it together and twice more, yesterday being the latest visit. The only kind remark I can make is to the server who was friendly and tried to be helpful. I ordered a cucumber salad and it came with fish on top. Nowhere on the menu did it describe the fact that it had fish on it. The sushi had rice which was considerably, and obviously not fresh nor were the vegetables used in the sushi. Beyond the fact that I can wrap sushi more properly and at least two of the pieces of sushi were slightly unraveled with little to no points for any semblance of a presentation attempt. In the Japanese culture presentation is everything, particularly with sushi dishes where it gives a chef an opportunity to be creative and shine. Beyond that the sushi was terribly bland. When the waitress asked the sushi chef to correct an order, he walked away and gave dirty looks not only to her, but to us as we sat at the bar waiting for our food. The noodle dish tasted watered down and pretty awful with limp and tasteless vegetables. If it were the first time I had a bad experience here, I would most certainly not be writing this, but three times really means it just is not a very good place. We will go to Westborough or Milford for sushi night, for sure. I wish the owners the best and hope they make some dramatic improvements in order to make it.

Two words for this establishment. Rude and unprofessional. My family and I (a party of 7) came into the restaurant, and requested a table. There was one table free and we were waiting on one more to open up to push them together to make one large enough for our party. About 5 minutes later, two customers come in after us and the manager immediately gave them the free table. The hostess informed the manager that the table was reserved for us and the manager proceeded to say wed have to wait. One of the members of my party went to talk to the manager, and he told her that we needed to wait for two tables. Which, of course, is what we were doing in the first place when he gave away our first available one. Needless to say, well never return. Clearly, youre not welcome unless you know the manager.

I had the pleasure of finally deciding to go to Kyoto after, of course, getting over the fact that it was a Friendlys. Its nicely decorated and clean. I sat at the bar and was served by a very nice woman named Karissa. I enjoyed all that I ordered but had over cooked steak with my Hibatchi lunch...I was okay with that but, I did mention it to Karissa. I said that it was no big deal and not to worry about it. Unbeknownst to me she told the manager who promptly told her that new steak would be cooked because customer service comes first. I was very impressed needless to say. Very high praise for Karissa, very sweet and caring about my satisfaction...I will be back! Did I mention I loved the food despite that little hiccup?

Its never fun when you check hours online and on the door and when you walk in they tell you theyve just decided to close early. I did manage to eat there once when they didnt close on me and they were competent but average. Watch out for fish eggs added to normally vegetarian dishes.

Had heard good things for a long time, so took my best friends from PA there the other night - we had a great time and the food was excellent. My friends know sushi better than me and we were all very happy with our meals. Excellent service.

The chicken hibachi lunch is delicious, but the chicken is often over cooked and hard. I have transitioned to beed or seafood when ordering the hibachi. The drinks and sushi are well made, and Ill keep coming back for them!

Dont listen to the whiny puke with the one star review. That person is an idiot. The sushi is wonderful, the service is wonderful. I wont get sushi anywhere other than Kyoto or the Milford Mandarin for sushi.

Love the food. Spicy calamari is my favorite appetizer. Always have great service at the bar. Can get crowded on the weekends though, there may be a wait. Also does takeout, but havent tried it yet.
