At first glance the inn seems like a nice rustic new england place to stay with a restaurant right there. After entering our room and immediately inspecting the place,. we found the beds to too hard and old. The place also smelled like mildew. But thats not the bad part. The owner, Frank, who lives there, also eats every night at the restaurants bar getting loaded. My wife and I ordered drinks with our meal but the waitress was taking too long (20 min) to bring us the drinks, which is weird since it was only us and two other couples. So my wife went up to the bar to get them herself. Sitting at the bar half in the bag was good ol Frank eyeballing my wife trying to chat it up with her and offering to buy her a drink!! The look on her face was horrific and she kept looking at me and suggesting with her eyes to help her. I got up and walked over there just in time to witness him falling off his bar stool and banging his head on the bar causing him to bleed like a slaughtered pig. I the morning he didnt even remember what happened.

easily more than 5 stars... I came up from the NY suburbs for a little R&R for three days during Thanksgiving week last fall, having it on good authority that the French King was the place to stay while visiting the Pioneer Valley.I visited my old haunts from my college days in the 80s. The rooms I checked out were in stellar condition, and my room was spotless, warm and comfortable. Wireless service was great and housekeeping was friendly and professional. Stay here and enjoy fine dining as well. Ill sure come again!

GREAT !! THE ROOMS HAVE BEEN TOTALLY RENOVATED !! THE OWNERS FRANK & DEB COULDNT BE NICER !! SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD. A BEAUTIFUL ATMOSPHERE WITH FIRE PLACES GLOWING AND WE HAD A RELAXING GOOD TIME. OUR MEALS WHERE VERY GOOD AND ARRIVED QUICKLY !! a VERY NICE TIME WAS HAD BY ALL IN OUR PARTY !! i RECOMMEND tHE FRENCH KING TO ALL !! THANKS

Rude owner! Said "whatever, " when we mentioned we had been sitting for 17 minutes and no one had come to the table. In addition to the owner, who seated us, there were two waitresses and only two tables had people at them. I dont demand great service, but some service. We ended up leaving. Couldnt believe the owner acted that way!

The atmosphere is a 70s interpretation of New England colonial. A little musty like an unused room. Not real clean but passable. My food was unremarkable. The waitress said maybe the cook could try harder when my partner said her food was inedible. The table was cleared and we got the bill without apology.

The food was awesome, the service was not good. Unfortunately we chose to sit in the bar area which was waaay too loud and annoying. And people stood right next to our table which was uncomfortable and annoying. We decided as good as the food was, we would not return there again.

No service, waited 20 minutes today while they had two waitresses for three tables and no one even acknowledged us. We had to get our own menus. When we got up to leave I said something to the owner and he said, whatever.
