Four stars for the menu truly making you think you are in France, and not paris but any other charming, smaller French city. I dine out in NYC often, but this is the first time in ages Ive thought of my time eating my way across France from Lyon to Marseille to Dijon and St. Etienne. The magret de canard was perfectly cooked with a side of pistachio wild rice that could have been a star dish on its own. The cod in a ginger Miso broth was delicate but delicious. The service was up and down- some staff members had friendly but professional demeanor, others were snooty and didnt have any interest in making you feel warm. The wine list was confusing- there was a chilled red I was strongly encouraged to avoid but I wasnt able to get a reason why, so I ended up with a safe but dull Californian wine. Felt weird to not imbibe French wine. The ambience was cozy and warm, buy the noise levels bordering on heel turning and leaving. We sat at a corner table near the exit so had less people around us. All in all, its some of the best food Ive had in Greenwich. I will return to try more dishes.

Having dined there before, we were looking forward to a wonderful meal again. We were greatly disappointed. The wait staff were friendly but the manager (owner?) was arrogant. I asked that the front door be closed so the air conditioning would cool the room and was told that HE liked it that way. My raw oyster special was riddled with shell shards and my husbands tuna tartar was just so -so. My husband ordered the special, pan seared fluke. It was barely warm and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were left over from Thanksgiving. I had rack of lamb. I asked for rare and got raw. It was served over white beans that reeked of rosemary . Rosemary so over-powered the flavor that it was all I could taste all evening. Given the noise level and the way you are crammed into tables like sardines, we will not be returning. A $600.00 dollar lesson learned.

Unfortunately this was our first time going here and will be our last. After nice, but nothing special, appetizers we had to wait 40 minutes for our dinner with not so much as a sorry. When we asked, they clearly had forgotten about us. My husband had the lamb and said it was the worst he had ever had. I have to agree . I tasted it too. I am not a fan of lamb partly because of the strong flavor. This had no flavour and was tough, even though he wanted it medium rare. Shame to not enjoy a 200 dollar meal.

We had an amazing night at Le Penguin. The food was excellent, the ambience and decor was very chic. We were welcomed by the host - Antoine Bleck. He was charming, his sense of humor made our dining experience memorable! It is truly a Greenwich HOT SPOT -- BRAVO!

Very good French cuisine at reasonable prices! Outstanding and worth going to. If you go when it is cold out, be sure not to sit by the door, there is quite a draft! Enjoy!

Last night on Sept 19th I had dinner with my husband at your place. It was my 3rd time there. Love the food and the service. Extremly noisy. Do not need music.

Small and intimate (sometimes cramped) with a great menu for dinner. Wine list is decent but pricey for what it is.
