This is the worst restaurant I have ever been into my life. I wish I could give them negative stars. I am amazed that this is 3.9 its should have been 0. All my friends told me that the owner of this restaurant has no manners and he treats Indian/Pakistani customers badly. I wanted to try myself. I went here with my family. When we were ordering, the owner was circling around us. When we were ordering, instead of listening to us, he would tell us order this and order that. We were four people and he gave us like 25 suggestions. And when we start ordering he would tell us to order something more then one quantity or order more because we were few people. Thats none of his business. When the food arrived, it looked like it was half of the quantity it was very little. Then when we were eating, he would disturb us. He wouldnt leave us alone. After this visit I asked around and found out that the owner doesnt like people of his own race. He would prefer American customers over Indian/Pakistani customers. I heard this from few people. When I heard this, it was very shameful. I wish he could embrace his own culture and people rather then disrespecting them.

NEVER go to this restaurant. Never ever ever ever.....unless you have too much money to throw away. I am from Pakistan and look for places for good desi food, but this was sheer DISAPPOINTMENT. Dont try Chicken Tikka Masala, Nihari, Paye, Gosht Karachi or any other specialty. They put so much salt in Chicken tikka masala and no spices in Gosht Karahi. When we told them our feedback they put the entire blame on us that we didnt tell in advance that we like less salt and more spices. No one greeted us when we entered this restaurant. Order taker was confused and non-helping. If you are asian then restaurant owners and management starts taking you for granted and we had WORST service experience with this restaurant. Food is over priced and not even worth trying. Dont ever go there with your spouse, it will simply ruin your mood and day.

I went there on Mon because weekend buffet is more expensive. Confirmed the price twice and sat by the table. Food was OK but does not compare to most Indian buffets that I tried in Boston. One guy said he was working in the kitchen. Hid under nails were black, I kid you not. The bill was delivered with a smile by some woman, I was overcharged :(. The tipping point was a convo I had with another employee. He made an anti Christian comment, and I never went there again. As I walk past that place I can see mostly people that look like a local Al Kaida chapter sitting there and watching Pakistani soap operas, hardly any white folks.

I came here one time because the restaurant is at the end of my street. There was a large TV playing videos, and it seemed like people were just there watching television and werent there as patrons. I dont eat Indian food very often and cant say whether this food was better or worst, but the atmosphere here is just terrible. There is a large open outdated dining room and it had an empty buffet stand on one side, and a TV with music playing right in the center of the restaurant. I wouldnt recommend eating in, maybe this place mostly does takeout.

I am new to this State. I googled and amazed to have such a wonderful warm welcome. Family oriented warm cozy. Buffet was wonderful. Chicken tikka, buryaani, behari kababs, okra, chuna dal, every thing delicious. Seasoned moderately. In deserts home made gajar hulwa the best. Gilab jamun. Kashmiri chai doodh pati the best. A whole lots of food. Very reasonable prives. I will recommend Darbar the best. People from all descends were enjoying. Light music

It might not look like much from the outside, but they are probably one of the best halal Pakistani-Indian cuisine restaurants around Allston. Theyre probably one of the cheaper options, too! They do a pretty good lunch buffet, and a la carte is great. Owners and staff are amazing, friendly, and super accommodating. If not for anything else, go visit for a cup of Kashmiri chai or Doodh Patti - theyre rich milk teas you will not regret ordering!

This is a good place and the family that owns it is pretty friendly. I found this place when I was looking for decent Nihari (a type of tender and spicy beef curry) in Boston. For those going for the first time, I suggest, Chicken Karahi, Haleem, Nihari, and Biryani as a good initial sample of the kind of food they have here. Id come with friends so you can try them all at the same time, and get a real taste of what this place has to offer :)

The owner and the servers need to learn some manners and professionalism. The ambiance is horrible with a century old upholstery. They are disrespectful and racist towards their Desi (brown) customers. Had a very bad experience, never recommending this place to anyone. This place has been fined multiple times for using expired food and unhygienic utensils.

Excellent lunch buffet, great service, and friendly staff--what more do you need? Once I went with an Indian friend, who said their food (Pakistani) is a little spicier than Indian food, and theres usually more meat, but thats the main difference. The dishes (Korma, Tikka Massala, etc) are still the same, and very good. The naan, of course, is great.

Food was good with spicy and non spicy dishes. Asked what was gluten free on the buffet and everything at the buffet was gluten free except one dish and the Naan. Naan was piping hot and was free. Owner was a pleasure to speak to and gave my daughter a free "sweet ball", gulab jamunn is the right name. Definitely would go back.

This place is amazing. Im from Pakistan and I was in Boston for a visit. The food was great.. moderately spicy. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere homely. Loved my experience here. I was craving some of their nihari a couple days later and they delivered all the way to where I was staying. Definitely worth a visit.

Very bad. Ordered chicken Tikka breast and when I got home to eat my takeout order it was completely dry and had no sauce. Honestly looked like it was cooked from the day before. Not fresh. And heres the kicker, I got that, an order of naan, and a can of coke and it cost me $20! Total rip off. Go somewhere else.

They have by far the best Indian/Pakistani food I have ever eaten in my life! I highly recommend the Boneless Chicken Tika, the Malai Kufta, the Goat Biryani (with Raita), the Samosa Chat, and the Magaz Masala. They are all amazing and I cannot think of anything i would rather eat!

Overall decent desi food but I have eaten better. The staff was attentive and respectful. After about five months I made a quick stop at this place and grabbed doodh patti (special tea) and some sweets, hands down one of the best teas I have had in the US after my own kitchen

Great Indian food, but little bit on the expensive side. Orders placed via take out are finished in a short amount of time. Its not really an Indian restaurant, but Pakistani. They do have a few selections from a typical Indian restaurant. The food is great nonetheless.
