This used to be an establishment worthy of 5 stars. In not certain what happened but things have went down hill DRAMATICALLY! BEFORE The portion sizes used to be so large that you had enough to easy AT LEAST twice. NOW the appetizer salad is barely large enough to make you hungry. BEFORE the main course was so large it needed 2 boxes. NOW just enough for a single meal. The habachi chefs entertain so if you want amusement thats still there. BEFORE the drinks were so good all you needed was one. NOW if your lucky 2 will get you right! Its unfortunate things are like this now. They do have a "help wanted" sign out. Maybe someone will HELP get this place back to how it used I WANTED it to be when I walked in. Perhaps new management had come thru to maximize profits but minimize the things that made this place great!

My family and I have been going to Kobes for years now. Each time I went I enjoyed the service, but to be quite honest, after a while it starts to get old and boring seeing the same thing over and over. What really change my view of them recently was when I had a bad service with one of the waiters. He barely visit the table, we didnt receive any refills and he forgot to bring out the rice for two of our meals. I spoke to the manager about it and they told me that they were sorry and that was it. I highly value customer service and if I report that I had a bad service and all I get in return is "sorry", then Im also sorry to say that theyve lost a good customer. Overall the food is great, but thats not enough for me to return. There are other restaurants that serves great food!

I came here last Friday with the old ball and chain to have a little night out, just the two of us. The service in this Japanese joint is stellar but the food, not so much. I ordered a Kobe steak, with fried rice to share with my lady, while she ordered some of the fried shrimp. The steak is really good here, although other than the soy sauce on it, I dont see what differentiates Japanese steak with American steak. The fried rice was also bathed in soy sauce, so there wasnt much flavor to it, and if there was the sauce covered it up. The fried shrimp, I must say was exquisite! We might come back here but were in no rush.

Wanted to take my family to a nice restaurant while visiting the area. Looked this place up and checked the website just to make sure. It recommend making a reservation, so I called to set one up. The girl answering the phone was rude and refused to take my reservation request, so I will take my business elsewhere. If that was the type of courtesy that is extended over the phone, wasnt going to waste my time or money to even go. This is Americas capitol, some American professionalism and courtesy would have been appreciated.

I really love coming here. The presentation of the food on the hibachi grill is always fun. This location is in a really good part of the shopping center. A very short walk from the movie theater and the metro. I usually get steak and shrimp and Im always left full by the food. I really like the taste of the food. There is a bar inside where you can sit at. You can order sushi from here too. Id say per person on average you should look to spend about $30.

The server was rude and lacked both people & customer service skills. His extremely dismissive nature to the patrons was unacceptable. The bathroom was unkempt and reeked of urine. The chef Johnny was pretty good. Overall if I could review solely on the cooking aspect only I would, but its about the atmosphere and making your patrons want to be REPEAT diners. However, that Ill never be and Id never recommend this as a good place to dine to anyone.

The food wasnt bad but the service wasnt all that great you had to look for the server to place your order and another thing is they want you to pay $2.00 for the fried rice and we had 10 people at the table thats $20.00 just for fried rice and they add Teriyaki sauce to all the meals when I requested not to have teriyaki sauce my food had to be cooked in the back. usually they use Soy sauce.

The food is good and the cooks are nice but the manger is unprofessional I took my wife here for her birthday we live an hour away we called in advance because we where going to do lunch here and the employee said they are doing dinner all day and to come in. I asked are they sure. So when I get here at 3:30 the manger says they closed and that nobody said that and kinda laughed in my wifes face.....

One Word: AWESOME!!! I gotta say more. I had the steak, shrimp and scallops on the hibachi. It was the best noodles cooked and seasoned to perfection I have had. The experience was nice. The chef of the hour was right doggone funny. How you catch a piece of flying shrimp in your mouth tossed by the chef is beyond me. I was 0 for 3 on my attempts. I tried though.

Let me tell you: they dont need your money. They dont greet you when you walk in, you can just wander around (great if you want a place to rush in for the restroom), and the prices are a bit high for the amount of food they serve (example: 5.25 for order of Saba--Mackerel, 2 pieces). Well at least the girl said goodbye as I was leaving.

No sitting, no breathing, no this, no that....Here is a tip: If you have to put the rules everywhere, then something is wrong. The people are nice, the service is okay and friendly. Entertaining for our son. Scallops were either frozen or they were not scallops. Glad we went, not sure we will go back.

I love this place. They have the best sushi in dmv. All the food here is great. Im always satisfy with the food when I come and the drinks are on point! The service isnt all that great tho as far as the waiters and waitresses go. Some got attitudes and are a little ghetto. But I do love their food.

Terrible service. Fried rice wasnt fried rice. It was rice with teriyaki sauce on it. They actually put Teriyaki sauce on everything which made the food all taste the same. The cook burned the grill and it made all of the food taste burnt.

Food was good, service was extremely slow. We went on a Wednesday and it took over an hour before they started cooking. They also counted our 6-month old as a customer and charged us for the seat, even though they didnt eat.
