A testament of not judging a book by its cover, this plain exterior restaurant entertains warm, delicious service with an incredibly friendly chef who also manages the restaurant. You will not find run-of-the mill food here, because his experimental style yields delightful yet unusual food not found anywhere in the area for reasonable prices compared to the new (and insanely expensive) fine dining restaurant a mile away. Dress can be from shorts to suits, all appropriate. Dont be scared off by the unconventional menu, however, because even my purely meat and potatos father-in-law has found his favorites among the cuisine. Such a comfortable and amiable atmosphere now sets the scene for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. An absolute jem!

One of the best in area. Weve eaten at Cafe Bretton four times and each has been a wonderful experience. While this may not be as good as some restaurants in D.C. or other places, there are few places around Annapolis that can compare. Most of our more pricey restaurants in the area always leave us wondering what we got for the money -- not here. It may not look like much from the outside, but its a nice, homey place and the staff is great. Go during the summer when they use produce grown out back. Come to think of it, we dont go to Cafe Bretton enough.

No question, great ambience but lacking in attention to detail. Maybe it was just an off night but my lamb lollipops were well done not medium rare as ordered. They came with fried potatoes not mashed as the menu advertised. The cheese and pate plate came with cubed cheese like you might find on a buffet table not at a fine restaurant. When I brought it the the waitresss attention, the owner showed up at the table with a slab of blue cheese, put it on the table and said nothing. He seemed annoyed. The prices are steep and the food was just OK.

Our go-to place for fine dining in the area. Truly a gem, the owner, staff, and chef are courteous, attentive, and provide superb service and food. Come with an empty stomach!! You will want appetizers and dessert along with your meal. But, if you find yourself not quite up to the task, on my most recent visit I found that the menu included half-portions, which I thought was a great way to accommodate those of us who want to eat a little lighter. The menu is a great combo of classic French alongside creative and seasonal dishes. Highly recommend.

My husband and I came here for dinner on our 2nd anniversary and it will be forever remembered. The ambiance was lovely and the food and service was even better. Its wonderful to go to a place that grows there own vegetables with the owner asking how everything is. There is an amazing attention to detail that is forgotten in many other restaurants. This wonderfully fresh food was full of flavor and very filling. My husband and I highly recommend this hidden jewel in Severna Park.

Had dinner there a while back and felt uneasy the whole time. Because I am hard of hearing my wife and I turned our table for 2 around to be closer to each other so I could hear. The manager came out and berated us (quietly) and made us move the table back to its original position. The rest of the meal went down hill. Havent gone back, nor will I anytime soon. Les Folies in Annapolis is a much better option.

What a wonderful place to dine out!!! The staff are kind and and attentive to every need. Plus you cant beat the food, just amazing prepared perfectly and the presentation is beautiful. This is my go to restaurant they have never let me down. I highly recommend this place to all my friends. The owner victor will make your experience perfect.

Cafe Bretton, Absolutely Wonderful!! The food was outstanding! The staff the greatest! You feel like you are in Paris enjoying a dinner to remember! I would certainly go back again and hope others would adventure to this wonderful restaurant in Severna Park, Md. for fine dining!!!

Very nice setting. Owe was attentive but staff seemed "involved" all the time. Scallops, floybder were well cooked, but the other 3 items were way over seasoned. I will record the meal tonight and see how we can cut the salt but keep the flavor. Good to go to but not exceptional.

The owner is a doll, however, I ordered the stuffed chicken which was $28.00. It was not worth getting. My husband ordered a $42.00 steak, he said it was yummy. We probably wont go again. Overall, it wasnt worth the price.
