Want so desperately to like this place. Reisterstown really needs a place for decent food. Went there today with two young girls. I got a 1/2 rotisserie chicken and a few sides. Girls got the kids chicken and fries meal. Chicken was hot and not dry, but not really feeling the seasoning. Bland and somewhat sour. Skin was still kinda slimy. Was hoping for something better. Crisp skin and some seasoning that sets it apart from Boston market, which is 5 miles down the road. Mashed potatoes were gummy. Mac n cz was mush. All sides are served from a steam table. I think it all just dies there. A shame. Kids meal was cheap "frozen/ fried" chicken tenders. Was hoping for something more "prepared" as the place markets itself as a "chicken shack". Fries were pretty decent. But only one communal squeeze bottle of ketchup. No table side bottles. Menu is not an easy thing to navigate. Needs reworking and simplification. The sides on the menu all run together. No spacing. Made it confusing. Bathrooms were not very tidy, did have an odd smell. Hate to say it, but Boston Market makes a better chicken and their sides are just, better. Hopefully that changes. Once you get beyond the menu, ordering was simple and everyone was friendly. The place, inside and out, looks great. Please keep improving. Ill continue to come in and try everything you have to offer in hopes that the Chicken Shack becomes a town success. No need to go back. I found service extraordinarily slow. Stood there waiting to order while staff members walked past us, smiled, and said hello but didnt take the order. When we finally ordered, we got the "open faced hot roast beef" special and a pit beef sandwich. The hot roast beef was a horrendous mess! Sliced white bed, topped with mashed potatoes then a ladle of chunk roast beef on top. The roast beef had a weird flavor (sage?) that made the entire dish unappealing. Basically, you got a mashed potato sandwich with sage beef chunks and gravy. Pretty Bad! The pit beef sandwich was only slightly better. First, you are asked if youd like it more rare or more well done. RARE!!! I said without any hesitation. When I got the sandwich, it wasnt rare, medium rare, medium, or medium well, it was WELL DONE! On top of that, they sliced the roast beef thickly which is not at all typical of a pit beef sandwich. If you crave pit beef, youd be better off going to Santonis when they do their pit beef sandwich weekends. Overall, a rather disappointing experience. Such a shame because the area could use a good place to eat.

I went for lunch today and it was mediocre, The staff didnt seem up on their knowledge of the menu and ordering was a little weird. I ordered menu items they didnt have and paid for it to find out the werent available after the fact. My pit beef sandwich was cold and the cuts of meat were poorly done. A few pieces of cartilage in my sandwich made me have to pull the sandwich apart and eat what i could. But their sauce choices were great and im sure my issues are just minor kinks that will get worked out with experience so im not upset and will return in a month or two when things have gotten worked out.

Im giving this restaurant five stars simply because the food is that good. A previous poster was complaining that the chicken tenders were originally frozen but isnt that what all kids want? Were trying to keep them happy after all. We got the rotisserie chicken and the cucumber tomato feta salad and the mashed potatoes and the sweet potatoes which were absolutely amazing! I will be returning here often. Great staff and friendly.

Delicious Rotisserie Chicken and Pit Beef. Paired with gourmet sides and lots of healthy choices like sweet potato waffle fries, califlower mashed potatoes, bussel sprouts, mash potatoes, mac & cheese. Generous portions, Amazingly good at a reasonable price. Very pleasantly surprised! dont judge the book by the cover! We will be back for more and soon! And the staff was friendly and helpful to boot!

The food was okay, but the bathrooms were horrible!! Both bathrooms smelled like urine. Both men and women can use the same toilet, which is NOT at all okay for parents who have kids. They should stick to traditional restrooms, a mens restroom and a womens restroom. Having traditional bathrooms would be much easier, better, and less confusing for everyone.

Just had our first visit very welcoming. The chicken was very tender, the roasted cauliflower was amazing,and the sweet potato fries were so good. They have a great menu with great coices. My daughter had the pit Turkey very moist and the fresh potatoes chips were crunchy! I cant wait to try it again. The place was also very clean. Great job.

the way this place is set up makes it very inviting....so clean looking on outside and inside!........all the staff deserve to know that there professional attitudes and GENUINE pleasantness is very refreshing in todays world ....great quality food ...the potato salad is the best and I only usually eat homemade... Excellent eating spot !!!!!

Amazing chicken. Absolutely perfectly tender and delicious. We got a few sides to go along with our meal. Grilled vegetables, southern greens and cauliflower mash were as if my grandmother made it herself. The have earned our business! Making this a regular stop for our family.

We have been there several times since it opened and have enjoyed our meal each time. The soup was hot and delicious, the pit beef was tender and the rotisserie chicken was juicy and delicious. This is our neighborhood go-to place and recommend that everyone try it.

All of the food is cooked fresh in house and they treat you like family. My son and I stop in for lunch every Saturday on the way home from the gym. The fire roasted chicken has a great flavor and is always tender and juicy. My favorite is the Triple Shak.

I love this place ❤️. Its about 3 minutes from my house and I feel so fortunate. The staff is always great, super friendly (and Im a tough critic I have been in the Customer Service area for over 25 years) and always helpful...oh the food kicks ass too!

Love love love love this place in Reisterstown! Amazing rotisserie chicken etc etc and the best home made potato chips in the world. Great price to take our family of 6 out, we get a whole chicken with sides and order some extra sides as well.

Small place with good pulled chicken, chicken tacos, pit beef and other things. I have had the chicken tacos and salad which is a salad made to order with pulled chicken on it. Servings are big. Prices are reasonable.
