Horrible and unclean are the first things that come to mind. We stopped here Friday July 28th on the way to VA. Upon walking in and noticing the overall cleanliness of the restaurant we should have turned around and walked back out. But we had been traveling and were hungry. The Buffet was a mess. The seat where we were seated was filthy. There was food all over the floor and no one seemed to care enough to clean it up. BBQ was awful, no taste no flavor. Obviously it was cooked in an oven and not over wood or smoke! The Carolina BBQ Chicken was nothing more than baked chicken with some seasoning on it! I can do better than that at my own home. Needless to say when we left and paid the tab we were as hungry as when we went in. I would never go back to this location based on my experience Friday night! Restaurant and staff need a total re-do!

Good food at a good price. Casual, seat yourself tables and boothes. Nice selection of food on the buffet from bbq, pig, chicken, fish, shrimp to salad bar, assortment of veggies and potatoes. Lots of fruits and dessert choices (only down side was nothing chocolate). Also could order from the menu if desired. Very clean, wait staff was friendly and came around often to clean away plates and refill drinks. Definitely worth the trip if you are looking for good southern food at a reasonable price.

As a buffet establishment, it is serve yourself as is expected. the service staff was friendly and checked on us frequently during the visit to ensure drinks were topped off as needed, and clearing dishes during the meal. The food itself was enjoyable, and with it being the weekend there was a small assortment of seafood on the buffet bar in addition to the chicken, pork BBQ, and the fixings that would normally be a part of the meal. The nice part in addition was the salad and desert bar

The Carolina Chicken and BBQ in Emporia, VA is great. Id give it 4 stars easy. The Roanoke Rapids one is horrible. Dishes and utensils are dirty. Salad bar is unfit to eat. Some trays have collapsed into the ice water. No lemon for tea and fish. I started to eat here and realizing just how filthy and bad this location is I left w/o eating and am leaving this review in the parking lot. Other locations may be good to excellent, but not this one.

So-so place. When we arrived we werent directed to a seat or a wait staff member and had to figure how to setve ourselves when I wandered around for the drink/cup station the front desk server asked me why I was doing that. After explaining not being directed so got me a cup...which meant noting as the drink macine is in the kitchen. That was very unattentive of her. My dad loved the the pork as he grew up in the area locally.

The service was great, but the food..EHHH. This is not country cooking at its finest. Everything was bland and tasteless. I get it, everyone is health conscience, but I expected more. You could use Mrs dash to.give the food a little flavor. I will say the chicken was decent. I wouldnt go back again.

Heard a lot about the food here, unfortunately what I heard was about the the other location. Selection of food was either grease or grease. Even the floor was greasy. Staff did not appear to want to be there, if you asked for what something was or where something was they just sort of grunt/mumbled.

We got the family pack and the bbq was super dry and no bbq suace was with it. The hush puppies seemed old and the chicken was under done on the inside. The cashier was not friendly and rude but there was another guy helping her who was nice and helpful. Not impressed and wont come back.

This place has really gone downhill. The food was barely warm. There was actually food that was caked on the clean plates. Should have walked out than. Will not eat there again. Doesnt even deserve the one star I gave it. Also it is not the first time I had a bad experience eating there.

This place was awful. Instantly had a bad smell inside the restaurant and probably should have walked out at that point. The only edible thing was the fried chicken which was pretty good but everything felt dirty. Should have went to cookout. The wait staff was prompt and pleasant.

Called at 5:30 PM and restaurant is open till 9:00. Tried to order a take out and was told on the phone by the man that answered that they were not doing any more take out chicken. Extremely poor customer service! With that poor quality of help, they will not last long.

The pork bbq was so juicy and the hush puppies were amaaaazing! Very authentic and even had some unique food items Ive never seen before (pig tails!). Very friendly staff and a nice variety. We were just leaving the area and dropped in... best flavor decision ever! :D

Freakin AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got off the highway on my way back to Florida from Virginia and had to stop in and get a pulled pork sandwich. I ended up eating 3 of them and then realized I still have 600 miles to go.Lol. one word DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!

Tasty food and lots of it. Southern cooked buffet optional, order from the menu, or to go. Ribs, pulled pork, chicken, collards, all the southern favorites. Desert options not the greatest but the dinners are the main attraction.

I was on vacation and visit this place.. Food was very good and service was excellent. .I plan on going back very soon. Friendly, peaceful atmosphere. I enjoyed it!! Hopefully they make some banana pudding and some peach cobbler..

I will give 5, not only the food but the service was great and I like the cleanliness of this place. that the server checked the food frequently and see if there some kind of mess around it and they are also wearing gloves .

By far the worst food Ive ever had. Should of been a 4 dollar buffet instead of 10. Food was not Satisfactory nor worth the money. Floor and carpet were discussing, found hair in the food. Save your money and dont go there.

Garbage.. nothing home cooked or southern about this chain. Typical buffet style food. steam tray cooking. Had better BBQ from grocery store. If in Roanoke rapids, go to Ralphs BBQ.

Good home style food. Good variety on the buffet. BBQ, ribs, chicken, oysters, fish & shrimp. Can order off the menu or choose the buffet which is all you can eat and a good value.

The buffet was a disaster. They couldnt keep the plates up or the food. The floor was very dirty. I wouldnt come back or recommend. The only thing is the people are nice here.
