This place seems to be meant for Indian Food for White Americans. When we walked into the restaurant, the partners and the girl in the front office did not even mind. Then came, an Asian waiter who made us sit next to the food bar. Kids were not offered water until requested till the last 10 minutes, the lady manager (seem to be of full of attitude). She brought the water, not before on the way talked to another table for minutes and then brought it. There was a White American customer with family who was served with water for every fill and asked how was it going whereas, we - being Indians - were left out as an unwanted guest. Plates were not removed after food. Waited for 30 minutes to see the tab or bill. Asked the Mexican waiter to get the bill and he nodded and seemed to have not understood our request, nothing happened even then. Finally, we had to walk up to the bar counter and pay the bill. There were so many Desi restaurants who served only the Locals have gone defunct. Whoever respects their home community will survive in the business. Food is OK; service is very poor. Seems to be a table war between waiters who to serve who. Will not surprise if they closed down like how many desi ones gone out of business in the DC area. After an hour, still feeling heavy in my stomach. Never had this experience before....

On my husbands insistence, today we went to India Palace again and the food we ordered again was Pindi Chana which was very well cooked, the taste was delicious and very well balanced, the Flavor were excellent. It tasted fresh and just like home made. We were very happy to receive personal attention from Mr. Ranjeet and Mr. Puri. Thank you for extending royal treatment to us and for the complimentary Dessert which consisted of was two Gulab Jamuns which were very fresh perfectly cooked. We truly appreciate your hospitality. Another aspect which is very important to mention here is that unlike others India Palace is very conscious and mindful of the reviews given by their customers. India Palace a thank you for taking my review seriously and working on it and correcting the error. Food tasted horrible. Pindi Channa was all watery and Panner Makhani was salty and tasteless. They forgot to serve us Panner Pakoras which we had ordered as an Appetizer/Entree. The Nan too was stiff and flaky. Before this also I had gone for Lunch during BUFFET and the food did not taste good. Even when the food displayed on the table was empty in nobody bothered to fill it up. A BIG BIG BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!

Stupid men who wait tables, totally inconsiderate and biased while dealing with a customer who is dining in. Half of them have no clue what they are doing and keep walking around at random, aimlessly, waiting to be given instructions and directions from the manager. Waiter blatantly refused to put in an order for chai, lame excuse given was there was no cook to make tea for the day. The restaurant is functioning only because of past few lucky positive reviews they have received either by a foreigner who has no idea of what Indian food tastes like or by a customer who was fortunate enough to get good service the day they dined in. They are biased in customer service, favoritism is prevalent. While dining at the restaurant I noticed couple of customers who frequent the place being given importance than the ones who had already placed an order. The only courteous treatment we received was when the manager had to hand us the check for the meal. Would not go back for a meal , not at least consciously.

The ambiance was ok. We ordered Kadai Panner, Roti and Biryani. The Roti did not had any butter on which is surprising and upon asking why there was no butter on the roti we were told usually they dont put butter unless asked. We have been to many indian restaurants and have never seen this. Roti did not feel fresh, it was hard. Veg Curry was fine taste wise but was little blend for us as not much spices. Veg Biryani was very flavorless. There were hardly many vegetables in it. I have had Veg biryani at many other places and it was not that good. I dont think I would pay full price for this meal. Even after using groupon voucher I dont think food was worth the cost. I would not go there again.

WOW! Just wow! LOL Where do I start? Lets just say that the food is awesome both at the restaurant and at home (carryout or delivery). I order here very often, and Ive tried just about everything that has to do with chicken on the menu. My fave has to be the Chili Chicken and Chicken Jalfrezi. The food is awesome, and the service is awesome! I love the hot towel you get when youre seated. A nice environment. The only minor con is that they dont accept credit cards over the phone when ordering for delivery. You either have to have cash or your check book ready. Their buy 2 entrees and get one free is well worth it, indian leftovers from IP are definitely yummy.

We periodically have lunch or dinner at this restaurant. Its really best for lunch, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian fare. Their Naan is soft and really well-made. An excellent mix of variety in lunch. Similarly, dinner choices are many and everything is well-made, with your choice for the level of spiciness. More importantly, the staff is really caring and ensure your satisfaction, by repeatedly stopping by and asking if we need anything else to make our time enjoyable. Because of crowd, it could be noisy at times during lunch, but excellent ambience during dinner ehn you can have good conversation with the fellow diner(s).

Okay - seriously - this is THE best place in the state of Maryland to get authentic, hot, fresh, delicious Indian fare! My boyfriend and I waited ALL day in order to save up our appetites for dinner at this restaurant, and it was absolutely worth it! The staff was very cordial and attentive, and the portions were so big, we had to take almost half of our meals home! Also - as someone that rates restaurant bathrooms, I must say that their ladies room was VERY clean and tidy. The floor was clean and there was no soap residue on the counter. I give it an 8 out of 10 (not very decorative, but very clean)!

Went for the lunch buffet on a Monday. The key to this place is the INFINITE MANGO LASSI, via the mango lassi dispenser. Its excellent mango lassi and this alone made it worth the cost of admission. As a bonus, they had good food. There werent a lot of customers at the time, so the service was great, but the food was wasting away on the buffet line. Sad. Buffets need a critical mass of people to get enough turnover. If they had more people, I bet the food would be very good and may have even garnered this place a five-star, given the price and the mango lassi.

Horrible service. Waiters do NOT know anything. I had to ask the waiter 3 times to get more bread. Another waiter was cleaning dishes with a cart near my table and blocked my pregnant wife from sitting down. My wife had to ask him to move so she can sit down on her chair. Then the waiter gave her a nasty look. Their lentil soup was so diluted with water and it is tasteless. There was no goat meat and it took them over 30 minutes to get more. Used to be our favorite place and so disappointed.
