One of my favorite restaurants in the area - the absolutely run circles around Amber. This place makes great food, vegetarian or not. I was always afraid the heat would be overpowering but I was pleasantly surprised that the food doesnt have to be spicy (although it can get pretty intense if you ask for it to be hot). If youve never been to this place, I suggest the lunch buffet so you can try a ton of different items. For dinner, a great start is the chicken tikka masala or the saag paneer (my favorite). Do NOT skip the garlic naan. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Placing orders over the phone is a breeze.

I went to Mayuri Indian Cusine with my family on a Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed the lunch buffet they offered at $13 per person. The food was very delicious. One or two of the items in the buffet ran out and wasnt refilled. They serve hot naan and dosa at the table. The ice cream in the buffet was not refregerated, so it melted and turned into milkshake. The building is very small and the seating wasnt too comfortable. The furniture and fixtures are very outdated, but functional. Altogether we enjoyed our meal at Mayuri, however we look forward to improvements in the dining experience.

I ordered 3 sauces all medium spice, and 2 garlic naans. I was under the impression that the meals came with naan and i would get 2 extra garlic naans. This was not the case. Also the Chicken saag i ordered seemed a lot like tofu, since the other chicken dishes were actually chicken. Still got charged full price though. And the degrees of spice doesnt mean anything, two were not spicy and one was very spicy. After all that, the food tasted good. Ran out of rice... and bread. Service needs work, food is good.

I went here for lunch on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The lunch buffet is very good. There are about 6 meat and 6 vegetarian items... all warm and fresh. They have 2 deserts, both very good. They make naan bread fresh and bring it to your table. The service is friendly, fast, and attentive. The atmosphere has Indian music and pictures, it is kind of basic, of course the food is the reason to be here. I definitely recommend this place and I will be back.

Food: Delicious Parking: Decent sized lot. Price: Ample in terms of portion sizes. Takeout and dine in are both great. Ive had positive experiences ordering out and during the buffet. Ive been told the food is the most authentic in the area, ranging more towards South Indian fare. I wouldnt know, but the food is darn good. Id highly suggest the samosas!

Glad we ignored the negative reviews! The exterior is unimpressive, but the inside was clean and neat. And the food...the food was delicious. There is a good veg and non veg selection, and they will adjust the spice level to suit your tastes. Our waiter was very helpful, and made great suggestions, like try the mango lassi. We did, and you should too.

This place is not good at all to bring your guests and think of giving them treat. Yes exactly we went to have dinner there but my friend Anusha found the waiter with moustache keep touching his nostrils. She didnt able to finish her food and i felt so bad for her. It really made our night awful and worst. Disgusting place and that waiter.

The food was delicious and fresh. The prices are reasonable and not over priced. The services was just OK, but it reminded me of being back in India...where you dont go out to eat for the service but the food. We also loved that this places is BYOB so thats a huge plus too! I cannot wait to go back and eat here again.

Food is nice.. service is also okay. But it wasnt as clean, restroom doors do not lock properly. Did not like that naan was served on table right after we entered. It was cold by the time we got food from buffet. Naan should be served after we ask for it. If they take care of service and maintainence, food is good.

I met my wife 43 years ago at an Indian restaurant that she owned. Mayuri is her favorite place to eat in the Scranton area. It has been the best Indian buffet I have had and the service is always friendly and competent. There is an Indian grocer a few blocks away and they have some great items and bargains.

Great South Indian buffet. The restaurant smells like nothing, which is a bit different than most Indian restaurants where you end up smelling like the food youre eating. Good service, a little slow at times considering only a few people were there. Great afternoon lunch spot.

I love the fact that Mayuri offers a daily lunch buffet. There are vegetarian dishes, meat-rich dishes, a few fried dishes, and some delightful desert options. I love the rich variety in taste, texture, and spiciness. I admittedly spend way too much money here than is prudent.

Took one hour for serving tea - horrible tea ever! We went there with high expectations, reading the reviews. But the only good items we could find there were mysore masala dosa and medu wada. Onion uttappa was uncooked - i could hardly find any onions in it!

A nice change from the normal Indian restaurant we frequent. Everything seems to be more rich and flavorful, and they have a few dishes I havent seen before. Fantastic food, great portions and reasonable prices will keep me coming back!

This is the newest Indian to open in Scranton and they are the best! There is a very good variety of dishes to choose from, many Ive seen for the first time. I also like that its not too hard to find the meat.

Very friendly staff here and the best Indian food I have tasted in a long time. Price is very reasonable compared to saffron Indian restaurant in middle town NY. We live over an hour away but it is worth the drive.

Excellent food, good service. Clean tables and surprisingly, the water tastes really good. For $13.77, the buffet is an excellent value. Try the chicken tikka masala with naan, just excellent. Highly recommended.

Dinner was delicious! The best Indian Ive had in a long time. Chilly Paneer, and Lamb Rogan Josh. There was a small issue which the staff was kind in addressing and comped part of our meal. Very nice people.

Awful place and low grade atmosphere. Didnt like anything there. Got voilently ill after eating there. Would never go back. I would like to tell manager to check on the hygiene so that people dont get sick.

After a long adventure in the Poconos we headed over here for a heavy lunch and we really loved it. Everything tasted good and great service in the buffet. Will be going back soon for this indian buffet.
