What a horrible experience! We had read good reviews about this place and were excited to try it. I live in Pennsylvania and my girlfriend lives in Baltimore so we frequently meet the Cockeysville area for dinner and enjoy a variety of ethnic foods. We were promptly seated, given menus, water served ... a round of drinks and it was time to order. We ordered 2 appetizers to start and an order of naan. A few minutes later, a man approached our table with the slip with our order on it. He was shaking it as us saying we needed to order dinner. I said we just ordered appetizers and were going to see about dinner. He insisted we had to order at least one entrée or we had to LEAVE!! I asked where it said that. It didnt say it on the door or the menu. He said it doesnt have to state it "Im telling you. Order an entrée or leave." He was verbally abusive. It made quite a scene. Other tables could see what he was doing. Im a working professional now, but spent many years working in restaurants while getting through college and I have never seen an owner mistreat his guests in such a way. He said it was dinner time (8:00 p.m!) and that we should order dinner. We were not ready to order dinner. He said we were taking up a table and that he had others waiting who wanted to order dinner. There was at least 3 open tables and NO ONE waiting to be sat. We walked right in and were seated without any wait. Considering that restaurants make a higher profit on drinks, appetizers and desserts ... his attitude made no sense. When I worked in restaurants, my managers always liked when guests would order piles of appetizers instead of meals. They are quick and more profit! What a sad experience.

This is the first time I am leaving a comment about a restaurant but my experience earlier tonight warrants sharing it with public. My wife and I chose to go to this restaurant along with our two children to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We placed our orders and started with some vegetable somosas and half way into eating the Somosa I found a big piece of light hair in the middle of the Somosa... pretty gross. I brought this to the attention of our waitress Who took it away to show the kitchen and came back and said the kitchen staff said this is not their hair?? I pointed out that I have short dark hair and this clearly could not have come out of my head and my family also have dark hair and were nowhere close to the Somosa. Besides, the hair was inside the Somosa. I soon found the owner coming at us and rather than taking responsibility and apologizing, basically saying the hair is not theirs and I guess that means we must have placed the hair inside the somosa ourselves on our anniversary night so we could ruin the experience. Needless to say, we cancelled our order and left the restaurant potentially forever. If you choose to go to this restaurant, pay close attention to the food you eat.

Wish there was a zero star option. This place serves HAIR in their dishes and the folks who own this place do not seem to care. We went there for a family dinner, and ordered Naan with Curry. My first Naan had a long hair in it, so I politely asked the server to take that away and get me another one. I started eating my second Naan with a lot of confidence, and guess what - I had a long thing HAIR strand in my MOUTH.. ehew! I called the Owner and HE DID NOT seem to CARE! He told me he cannot see the Hair [despite me trying to show it against a white background, as this Hair was light colored]. The Owner asked us to LEAVE their place [our fault: we spotted HAIR in their food, not once but two times in two different orders of Naan]. I WILL NEVER recommend going here, unless YOU LIKE EATING HUMAN HAIR

I recently had a very bad experience. I visited Cafe Spice and ordered for 2 snack items from the menu. We were seating and waiting for the dishes to be served when we were told that that they dont entertain snack items during dinner. We went there around 7.30,on a saturday evening. We were asked to take away.(No where you mention that you dont entertain snacks after 7.30PM).It was highly embarrassing for me and my wife. We left red faced, as indirectly they were asking as to leave the restaurant. Its a horrible experience and pray that it shall never get repeated with anyone. My question to you "Is that the way you behave with yours customers". I give you a "Zero" Score.

First trip here, thought wed try something new. It was just ok. Food was quite spicy even when mild was requested. Sauce on the chicken tikka masala was very runny, not thick and creamy and only served with a few pieces of chicken. Garlic naan was tiny. Prices are high for what you get. Decor is nice, but its rather dark inside and tables are crammed together. Service is good, though almost too attentive when it comes to refilling water glasses - take a sip and it gets refilled - it gets annoying quickly, needs to be dialed back just a bit. Overall, there are much better places for Indian cuisine, doubt Ill go back.

I have been there for buffet and my wife and I dinner. Buffet has traditional Indian flavors and wonderful taste. Service is excellent and prompt, especially with the water :-). Dinner service during a full house was prompt including seating, taking order and presenting our dinner. Owner came by to ask about our experience (she also has done during my buffet visits). We took left-overs home and are enjoying tonight. I highly recommend over other Indian restaurants in the area and Baltimore. I have been enjoying Indian cuisine for over 30+ years and feel comfortable with this recommendation. James

This place was horrible for a few reasons. First is the fact that both I and my husband got food poisoning even though we ordered totally different meals. Second, I got the chicken Tika masala which is a staple for any decent Indian restaurant. The sauce was watery and bland almost like watered down ketchup. Lastly, the entire meal felt rushed by the staff which in hindsight I guess was a plus because we were able to get out of there. We will definitely not be going back. If a negative star rating could be given, I would have picked -5 stars. Worst dining experience Ive ever had.

Absolutely the BEST!! A favorite for our family of four, and quickly becoming the go-to place for out-of-town guests too, who now ask for it by name. Have visited probably close to 50 times and have never, ever, had less than a wonderful experience. Food is always outstanding, wait staff always attentive, and atmosphere very warm and inviting. If you like Indian food, you will love Cafe Spice. If youve never tried Indian food, this is the place to go for a taste, especially for lunch where you can sample a few different dishes for next to nothing. BYOB.

This is a great restaurant. My review is probably biased because the owners of the restaurant are good friends. This notwithstanding, Café Spice serves delicious "North Indian" style food. My daughters love their Naans (breads) and Paneer (cottage cheese) curry. My wife and I like everything vegetarian on the menu. In addition, the hospitality is second to none. If you are looking for delicious Indian food around the Greater Baltimore area, you should definitely pay a visit to Café Spice.
