Definitely not what it once was. Not only does it look nothing like it used to, but everything about it was different...namely, the service and vibe. I used to frequent The Grind, at least a couple of times a week, for its great coffee and atmosphere. I visited Fells Pt today for the first time in about 8 years, and of course, had to stop by. Food was overpriced, as other reviewers have stated. The first barista looked up at me, but did not smile or otherwise acknowledge me. Never offered to help. Another employee came along, and after he was done whatever he was doing, he flatly asked if he could help me. These wanna-be hipsters could use a lesson or two in good, old-fashioned customer service. Theyre not as cool as they think. The food was tasty, but the service makes me question going back.

The Daily Grind used to be a magical place. It was open 24 hours a day, had rough concrete floors, solid black-topped tables reminiscent of a high-school chem lab; the coffee was rich and the staff stoned enough to absolutely indulge whatever crazy concoction you came up with on the spot. Then one day, they decided to remodel. To modernize. That day, my friend..... that day marked the beginning of the Cofpocalypse. Things would never be the same. Nothing could EVER be the same. NOT EVER AND NEVER AGAIN! It wasnt. The city fell to ruins. Gangsters took over, cops went crooked, Batman was killed on the side of Rte. 32 and riots broke out. Most people just held roof-parties, got crunk and watched the city burn. If ONLY the Daily Grind had stuck to its roots. IF ONLY...........

The place had a very modern feel. Great place to do some work, just read, bring a girl (or boy). When you step into the place, you smell the coffee. The only reason I didnt give this place a 5/5 is its changed. Back when fells point was the place to be, they let you see all of the beans and buy them. They also let you see a lot of the equipment, now thats a lot more modern. Some things you should modernize, but somethings you should keep the same. But overall the place was good ol Daily Grind. For all of these reasons I give Daily Grind a 4/5 - Your reviewer, Talon

the daily grind is dirty and you smell like smoke and trash somehow when you leave. im questioning myself for coming here to do work as i had to clean off the table with water...the table was still sticky so i had to lay out some newspaper. yet most students and freelancers frequent this joint. i guess they figured people will still come no matter how dirty it is. other times im annoyed by the loud homeless people that come and cause a raucous. the staff dont seem to mind them. the place could be better but i guess management doesnt care.

Very disappointed I have to say. The table is horribly sticky. The brownie is horrible, isnt fresh, and is wrapped in ugly plastic. I ask for a double espresso with some milk (I want a flat white, really), and specifically say I dont want a latte. What do I get? A latte... with a single shot of coffee as far as I can tell. When I point out to the barista that this is not what I had asked for, he just shrugs his shoulders and refuses to give me the coffee I asked for. Certainly the first and last time Ill have been here.

Maintenence, cleanliness, pricing, and management is very very poor. This place has lost its soul a long time ago and not the same as it used to be. Their coffee beans are great and is roasted by David Key but this place gives it a bad name. One day my regular coffee will be lukewarm, one day it will have coffee grounds in it, one day it is super strong, or one day it will taste weak.. you just never know. The staff is usually friendly though so that deserves 1 star.

Always an interesting place, whether it be the crowd, the art or the staff. Good coffee (hot, cold or still in bean form), and the breakfast sandwiches are superb (especially if you get the croissant, but get there early to score one)! Also, what no other coffee shop has is a doggie door; bring your pup and beat the lines by knocking on the outside doggie door and ordering.

The restrooms are filthy. Signs said for customers only but staff gave keys to homeless non paying guys who occupied mens room for over a half hour. Left water all over the floor where the guy took a shower in the sink. Really disgusting and entirely preventable. Is this a business or a homeless shelter?

completely unfriendly and staff doesnt know the ingredients of the food they serve and seem angry at being asked. Despite being close to a lot of residences and a yoga studio seem completely rude and indifferent to customer dietary needs. The backyard looks disgusting and full of trash.

This is the best coffee place in Fells Point. It has a variety of drinks, coffee by the pound, and inexpensive, filling breakfast sandwiches. They have ample seating so its a great place to chat with friends, have a meeting, or catch up on work. The staff is great, as is the atmosphere!

Coffee is good, food is overpriced, bathrooms are DISGUSTING. I agree with others that the wireless needs to be replaced. Also, in the winter, it is freezing in the back. This, unfortunately, is one of the few places to get coffee in the morning in Fells so I put up with it.

Had the turkey, bacon and ham sandwich, and a cappuccino. Delicious sandwich, wanted more. Decent coffee too, nice foam but coffee a little bitter for me. Takes me back home (Australia). Well priced, free wi-fi, plenty of seating, take-away wall hole at front.

Always friendly staff - lines go very quickly even during a rush. I often order a breakfast sandwich and the portion size is very large. I ask for a medium-complex sandwich and its been right every time. Also, very affordable.

The coffee, food and dessert selection here is quite good. But I never get the impression that the employees are all that invested in their customers, and thats what makes me want to be a regular... or not.

Ambience is good here with lots of seating available. Wifi is a bit patchy - one minute Im streaming a video and next I cant browse a mobile Web page. Latte was ok - too mild for my taste but well made.

Best coffee shop in Fells! In addition to coffee they also have baked goods (Cookies, muffins, cinnamon buns etc), bagels with the works, breakfast sandwiches, and deli sandwiches. Delicious and fast!

Very good choice of coffee, tea, pastry, sandwiches. Service is cordial and efficient. Located in one of nicest neighborhoods of Baltimores historic center. In fact this is right on the Waterfront.

Horrible attitude of staff. Dont expect ANY customer "service" and dont expect any attempt to make things right if youre not satisfied. Was my 2nd and LAST visit. Tons of other places in Fells!

Daily Grind has coffee drinks and breakfast sandwiches in a really chill atmosphere. I try to stop in once a week. The employees have been nothing but friendly at the register.

complete lack of customer service, if not downright hostile. Moreover, the pace is dirty featuring super sticky floors. I will go without coffee before I shop at this place.
