My aunt flew in all the way from California for my mothers surprise party. We had to keep it a secret for a couple of days, so I decided to spend an entire day with her in Kennebunkport. I chose to go eat at Ports of Italy because I heard good things about it. The first chance we got to catch up and have an actual conversation was in this restaurant. It started out fine, we were greeted at the door and our waiter showed us to our table. After that it was just overkill with the waitstaff. Our waiter came over to the table three times about water. Finally when we had water in our glasses he came over about the menu. My aunt ordered the haddock and I ordered the chicken sandwich. At this point I thought the waiter was being slightly disruptive but I wanted to carry on my conversation with my aunt so I ignored it. He then came over to give us bread, which was a bigger production than giving us water. He came over to give us water again after the bread, which I think he couldve done at the same time. Our food finally came out, and thats when I started to get pissed. He honestly would not stop coming over and asking how it was and trying to make conversation. I couldnt eat my meal because of his interruptions and because I kept seeing him from across the room. At this point we were the only table in the restaurant. My aunt was able to finish her meal, but between the interruptions and trying to have a conversation with her and the waiter I could only eat half my sandwich and the fries. After her had cleared her plate he came back to the table probably three times trying to clear my plate. I was still trying it eat and just wanted talk with my aunt. Also we had told him she was visiting from far away- an indicator that this was going to be a long meal. Anyways, I had told him I was still eating and he kept coming over. It was so awkward and I couldnt handle it. I just wanted to eat my sandwich (I didnt get back to Maine from picking her up from Logan until 4:30 in the morning- I woke up at 11 and went to go pick her up for lunch. I was starving.) So I finally told him to wrap it up. At least I could eat it at my house without someone breathing down my neck. So he comes back with the check and a weird look on his face. He then tells me he accidentally threw away my food! Im not mad about the food, Im mad because he was trying clear and pack up my plate so many times, how do you make that mistake? It just made me even more annoyed. We payed the bill and of course he was close to the exit saying goodbye. This is the only review I have ever written and Im sorry that is it really long and detailed, but this was a terrible experience. the waiter should not have been an interruption, he only need to come to the table a handful of times. I lost count after 12. It was awkward and annoying. The food was really good. Not sure if I will be back.

My wife and I treated ourselves to a 3 day weekend up in Kennebunk, ME While there, we were a tad tired of seafood options and saw this restaurant and decided to try it out. Upon arriving the maîtres D greeted us, and calling ahead were brought to our seats without anything resembling a wait. The environment inside is modern but simple , allowing a large open space filled with table that can accommodate any style event from parties, to private. The restaurant is was busy and filled to us in the corner we barely felt like anyone was around. The Host (manager) and Im assuming owner keeps busy greeting all guest, making sure they are comfortable and needs are being met, with all the manners one would expect a good Italian boy to learn from his mother. The food is slightly higher in price than one would expect to pay at a 99 or Applebees but this was a special weekend for us so we didnt mind, and the food was incredible. You can clearly tell the authenticity of the chef with what clearly presents as authentic Italian cuisine. And they do not skimp you on portion sizes. Dessert is just as excellent If you find yourself nearby and craving a dinner that will bring you back to the "old country" stop in and enjoy yourself. My wife and I did and am sure you will too. Next time were up visiting well be stopping by again.

Had reservations for the dining room for 3, was seated in the lounge area by the hostess. Ordered drinks and appitizer from our waitress. Ordered our meals from a different waitress. 3 minutes pass and my pizza arrives from yet another waitress. Obviously a mistake because we had not recieved our drinks or apps yet. 10 minutes pass and yet another waitress serves the 2 meals of the other 2 people in our party of 3. All before we have been served our drinks and appitizer! We take those 2 meals so thet dont leave them under a heat lamp. The appitizer arrived next from waitress #2. The drinks showed up next from waitress #1. My pizza showed up 10 minutes later and it was the wrong pizza. If you like the keystone cops, you will love this place.

Let me preface with the fact they let us eat outside with our dog. This is rather rare for Kennebunkport and they were more than accommodating! Delicious salads with a reasonable price fix lunch menu. The focaccia with olive oil is splendid. They have a few tables for outdoor seating as well as parking at the restaurant. Their haddock was delicious and super fresh. The lobster roll was delicious but not your typical roll. Some might feel the service is slow, but it felt much more Italian due to the time between dishes and how relaxing it was. Overall fresh salads and fish with good views of the water. Come here if you want a nice meal that is going to be your midday event. We certainly will be coming back!

We hesitated when someone recommended this restaurent. My husband is Italian and I am a caterer, so together, we are hard to please when it comes to Italian restaurents, especially out of Montreal, where we are from. We went in to take a look and just had to stay. The ambiance and the greeting impressed us so much. WOW. We enjoyed our lunch 100%. We even bought a take out dessert to enjoy back at the hotel, because we were stuffed however really wanted to try one of their home made desserts. We recommend this restaurent to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal, served in a wonderful atmosphere. NB: Their pizza oven is a real work of art. Tante grazie

Had a late lunch here while visiting the area. Ordered shrimp scampi as a small meal. Very fresh and perfectly seasoned/prepared, served over French bread. This place actually had sticky toffee pudding for dessert -- not on many dessert menus where I live. It was served warm in a cast iron skillet; the toffee sauce was chilled to a soft solid that melted when poured over the warm pudding. To die for. Pleasant service from the wait staff. Got antipasti as a snack for later in my hotel. The prosciutto was some of the best Ive had. Highly recommend.
