Great addition to Gloucester. I had a wonderful meal with my mom here the Friday night of Fiesta. We parked on the boulevard and took a short walk to the restaurant. We were promptly seated and given water, bread, and drinks. Our waiter was friendly and the manager was nice too. Food: Really delicious. I wanted to try much more than I did so Ill be back. The menu was really great. Arancini: really great, crisp, not soggy or mushy but perfect! Hamachi crudo: this had pea shoots and flakey salt... It was like a pure bite of freshness and springtime. Highly recommended. Tuna (tonno) with white beans: when it arrived I thought it might be over cooked, but cutting into it it was delicious and rare! A giant portion. My mom had the scallop dish and she loved it. I had a martini and it was really great. Ambience: A tad loud. I noticed they put some some panels into the ceiling but they might need to do more. At a table for two I had a hard time hearing my mom talk. The bar was cute, the place settings were nice, the ladies room was a touch odd--you almost seemed to leave the restaurant and go down a hall to get there.

My husband and I got seated in the back room by the fireplace. It was very intimate and nice. There were tuna fishing photos framed all over this one wall. It was cool to see the owner and his family catching local tuna, along with some historical photos. The atmosphere was very nice, but not stuffy. It was clean and modern. I have read a few reviews complaining about the noise, but I thought it was fine for a full restaurant. We could hear one another and the room was filled with people having a nice time. Our food was AMAZING. Fresh seafood, wine, drinks and great espresso and tiramisu to finish the night. The staff was very attentive but not hovering. We did not feel rushed out, like we have experienced in many busy restaurants. We will definitely be back as there were many delicious things on the menu we want to try! It is also a great place to grab a drink and appetizer at the bar. It was long and could fit many people. There were also a few TVs so it seems be a nice place to watch a game with friends over dinner. Happy to have this great new addition to the north shore!

I have to say that Tonno did everything right before opening and hosted a great event for an important local charity, and I like Prezza in the North End very much. So when the people I knew that had tried it were disappointed, I wanted to try for myself and did tonight - and unfortunately, the bad reviews and negativity of the restaurant are well deserved. First, the service isnt there. After sitting for ten minutes, we asked a waitress if she could help us which she did. The tonno tartare appetizer was tiny and unseasoned. The calamari, tiny portion, no sauce and not very good. But the worst thing was the grilled tuna, the signature dish, well the tuna itself was fresh and good but no seasoning and a few beans on the side. On Sunday night in the summer, the restaurant was less than half full. I hope that in all honesty the owners step in here and fix the menu and the service. Like so many who waited and followed on Facebook, just so disappointed the food is not great (and very expensive for the community, like the most expensive restaurant by far in town) Hope they can fix it.

Went last night and had a great dining experience . Top notch was the special salad, meatballs were very delicious ,oysters were good and the tuna steak excellent. Seafood stew , broth wonderful , seafood fine and sauce tasty with the exception of the very overdone tasteless shrimp reported by two of our guests who enjoyed the dish with that one exception. My veal suggestion would be to change out the veal selection ,veal milanese big disappointment, too many crumbs and no flavor, generous portion with nice greens on top. Great location , beautiful decor, need to work on the noise. Need more soundproofing on the ceiling and walls. Service was excellent ,our waitress was wonderful and attentive. The young bread and oil boy with the big Curley hair knocked it out of the park when he poured our oil for the bread. Very professionally done with the arm up in the air pouring the OV directly into the plate

replace the chef - today - quick Had: Meat sample plate $14 - $1 dollar worth of sliced meat. /Octopus a la placha...5 bites of risotto and 3 pieces of chewy meat /Veal.. warm on a bare plate with a salad on top. $25 cost $5-6 Food is uninspired, sliced meats could have come from Market Basket, portions are small, and WAY overpriced.. these guys will make it on the tourists who have dollars to burn, but if you are looking for a good meal - try ANY other place in Gloucester. FOOD: epic Fail, Service 3, Prices: $$$$$. If you like shopping at Whole Foods "Whole Paycheck" then this is your place to pay twice the price for half the food. Dont come hungry here. There are SO many good places to eat on the North Shore - this is not one of them.

Best restaurant in Gloucester. The atmosphere is very nice but comfortable. You could go with jeans and flip flops or get dressed up. Seafood is phenomenal. No greasy fried seafood here - Just high quality, local, delicious fish and shellfish that is cooked perfectly. A lot of the dishes are seasoned with simple ingredients- very traditional Italian. And the flavors are out of this world. No need to season your own food. Everything we ate was over the top good. I live in Gloucester and am very excited about this new addition. Oh yea, and there were so many Italian wines to choose from. They were divide out by region - so many I have never tried before. I cant wait to go back.

We arrived Saturday night on time and were seated directly beside/beneath an air conditioner...VERY chilly and my warm food was cold within minutes. The waiter spilled a tray with 4 drinks on it and soaked my husbands shirt, so they gave us a Tonno t-shirt to change into. His shirt was ruined (red sangria) and we were not offered dry cleaning, a free drink, or appetizer or anything. My food had arrived right before this happened, so it was completely cold by the time I got to eat it. Portions were extremely small - its a good thing the bread was decent. Very disappointing. We will probably not go back.

Went for a Birthday dinner for my Mom, had good food, but aweful service. Waitress didnt come to check on us, didnt ask my Mom if she wanted another glass of wine, and clearly prioritized the pair of obviously wealthy people that were at the table next to us. If driving away paying customers is the goal you set for your staff, congrats! Youve accomplished just that.

If I could give it more stars, I would. Tonno is amazing. Hands down the best tuna steak I have ever had. The appetizers were fresh and very tasty. The staff was attentive, well-versed in the menu/specials, and very accommodating. We went to celebrate a birthday and they made it special for all of us. If youre ever in Gloucester, its a must!
